The Tower's Last Chronicle

When Power Learned Control

The heavy steel door closed with a loud thud. A deep echo shook the strong walls before fading into endless silence.

Seo-Jun stood right in the middle of the empty chamber. This place was not made for normal fighters to practice.

The white walls could take hits from the worst monsters. The floor hid magic circles meant to push humans until they broke.

Seo-Jun slowly opened his dark eyes to the quiet room. For the first time in two days of being trapped, he breathed.

Not because his new body needed the air to live. He simply wanted to feel the rhythm of his own beating heart.

His breathing was perfectly steady and calm.

Deep inside him, a vast ocean of energy flowed endlessly. The quiet emptiness and the fierce demon power moved together as one.

They birthed the supreme energy that was his new foundation. Primordial Chaos Qi now flowed through him like his own blood.

It no longer felt like a wild beast trying to tear him apart. It moved as naturally as his own thoughts and instincts.

Seo-Jun lowered his gaze to his open hands. "The rebirth is complete," his voice echoed in the silent room.

Then, his eyes narrowed as he quickly corrected his own words.

"No. The rebirth is complete, but my mastery is not."

That small difference meant absolutely everything to him. A normal fighter would have stopped right here and celebrated.

They would have felt this explosive power and thought they were perfect. They would mistake holding power for truly understanding it.

Seo-Jun had seen that exact mistake too many times in his past life. He watched talented geniuses die to much weaker enemies.

Power without understanding was just a sharp sword held by a child. Eventually, that heavy blade would only cut its owner.

Seo-Jun slowly curled his fingers into a tight fist. The sound of his new bones locking together rang out clearly.

His muscles and bones had been torn down and built into steel.

But raw strength had never decided the winner of a true battle. A fight was not won by the person with the most energy.

It was won by the warrior who did not waste a single drop. Execution, understanding, and pure instinct had to become one.

A faint blue light flickered to life in front of him as the training room's control screen awakened.

[VIP Training Room. Awaiting command.]

Seo-Jun placed his bare hand against the cold glass. "Activate the gravity system."

[Gravity system activated. Please specify the desired gravitational intensity.]

"Ten times."

The system paused for a brief moment before displaying its response.

[Warning. Tenfold gravity will place extreme stress on the human body and may cause severe physical injury.]

Seo-Jun's expression remained calm. "I know. Turn it on."

[Command accepted. Increasing gravitational force to tenfold.]

He wasn't going to push himself to the limit immediately. He would increase the gravity little by little and see how far his newly reborn body could truly endure.

"Increase the atmospheric density."

[Please specify the desired atmospheric density.]

"Three hundred percent."

[Confirmed. Increasing atmospheric density to three hundred percent.]

"And reduce the ambient mana concentration by fifty percent."

[Warning. Reduced ambient mana concentration will increase the difficulty of physical training and limit natural energy recovery.]

"That's fine."

[All settings confirmed. Beginning training sequence.]

The quiet chamber suddenly trembled.

A deep vibration traveled through the reinforced floor before an invisible force descended upon the entire room.

Tenfold gravity.

The pressure struck Seo-Jun's body from every direction, making the air itself feel heavier. His muscles and bones immediately came under tremendous strain, while the thickened atmosphere made every breath noticeably harder to draw.

The reinforced floor groaned beneath his feet.

Tiny cracks appeared around his soles before the magic embedded within the chamber repaired them almost instantly.

Seo-Jun, however, merely stood there.

His body remained perfectly balanced beneath the immense pressure, and his breathing quickly adjusted to the altered environment.

He slowly clenched his fist and felt the changes coursing through every muscle.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"Not bad."

A faint smile appeared on his lips.

The body created through his rebirth was adapting faster than he had expected.

He took another breath and calmly looked ahead.

I'll increase it little by little. There's no need to rush.

Then he lifted his foot and took his first step beneath tenfold gravity.

✦ ✦ ✦

Interesting, he thought as he felt the heavy pressure. It was enough weight to flatten a solid steel car.

But his newly forged body did not fight against the weight. Instead, it naturally accepted the heavy burden.

Fighting it blindly was simply a foolish waste of energy. Before he even thought about it, his body began to adapt.

His breathing shifted to match the crushing room perfectly. The supreme energy inside him rushed to protect his weakest spots.

The entire process happened completely on its own. The painful rebirth had removed all limits holding his body back.

A small, genuine smile touched the corner of his lips. "So, this is what it truly meant to be reborn."

It wasn't just about becoming a stronger fighter. It was about becoming complete enough to finally start growing.

Seo-Jun slowly lifted his right foot and took a step. As his foot landed, the strong floor cracked loudly.

It wasn't because he used wild, angry strength to move. He used the exact amount of force needed to step forward.

That was the absolute difference between power and control. A fool exploded his power, but a true master guided it.

The pressure was enough to bend thick metal walls. Yet, his body moved with a terrifying, perfect balance.

Every muscle shifted before the weight could tire him out. His new body learned from the pressure and adapted to the pain.

✦ ✦ ✦

He took another step, and then another one. The heavy air pushed against him like a solid wall.

But his movements remained eerily calm and deadly precise. There was absolutely no hesitation and no wasted motion.

Soon, his standing posture began to change completely. His shoulders dropped, lowering his center of balance.

Without a real blade in his hand, he took a familiar stance. It was the opening move of the Plum Blossom Sword Style.

It was a famous art he had used in countless bloody wars. Yet today, as his arms moved, it felt strangely wrong.

Seo-Jun's eyes narrowed as he did the first move. It was a beautiful and elegant swing of his arm.

His body suddenly stopped right in the middle of the motion. "...Too stiff," he whispered to himself.

A normal sword master would have missed the tiny flaw. The angle was correct and the timing was perfectly flawless.

But Seo-Jun was no longer the desperate survivor from before. He had killed monsters that broke the rules of the world.

He knew that a single, beautiful, useless move meant death. Elegance and beauty did not cut off an enemy's head.

He slowly adjusted his footing by a tiny amount. It was a meaningless change to anyone else watching him.

Yet, that small difference changed the flow of his power. His next phantom swing became much faster and sharper.

"...Still a waste of energy," he noted quietly. He made another small fix, and then another one.

The famous sword style had been polished by old masters. Seo-Jun deeply respected their history and hard work.

But respect did not mean he had to follow them blindly. A sword art was just a tool meant to serve its master.

If the tool did not fit his hand perfectly, he would change it. He would carve it down until it became his own.

✦ ✦ ✦

Hours quietly passed by inside the sealed room. There was no sunlight to tell him how much time had gone.

He repeated the exact same sword moves again and again. Not because doing it over and over created sudden mastery.

He did it to peel away the lies his eyes could not see. Every thousand moves exposed a hidden weakness in his body.

Every small fix revealed another mistake waiting to be cleared. A thrust became shorter, and a turn became much tighter.

A wide, defensive pose completely disappeared from his routine. His new body knew it was a foolish waste of stamina.

Slowly, the legendary sword style began to change completely. The elegant, blooming moves became horrifyingly sharp.

Each fake strike now carried a heavy, freezing intent to kill. The graceful dances became cold and ruthlessly quick.

The useless beauty was violently stripped away like dead leaves. It left behind only the cold, hard truth of battle.

It was no longer the old sword style he had learned. It was rapidly becoming Seo-Jun's very own sword.
