THE SYSTEM IS NOT MINE
Chapter 105: The Humbled.
"Haha... Commander, don't take it to heart. I am just joking," Gwalior pulled away his hand and took a few steps back.
"No, let's spar," Chen Yu said as he remembered the basics of cultivation.
"A cultivation realm doesn't determine who is stronger... Let's spar," Chen Yu said.
"You are right, but you know what? Most people in the Spiritual Qi Foundation don't invest in understanding the letter. They only do once they reach Layer 9."
"And I am not someone who has just reached Layer 9." Gwalior said as he took his sword out of its sheath.
"My understanding of the letter is almost at the peak of the foundation." Fire qi engulfed the sword as it carried the flames.
"Do you still want to spar?" Gwalior said as his ignited sword in the dark pointed toward Chen Yu.
The other people at the campfires all looked over to this place.
Chen Yu clenched his fists. His hands trembled a bit, but he took his sword out and pointed it back at Gwalior and said, "Let's spar."
Gwalior's eyes widened.
Chen Yu immediately acted. His sword moved at Gwalior's eyes.
Gwalior swung his sword, pushing Chen Yu's sword away, but that was not the end. Then came into his eyes.
The dust.
Chen Yu's right leg pushed the soil below his legs up, raising the dust into Gwalior's eyes.
Gwalior did not get the time to react. The dust entered his eyes.
Then Chen Yu's sword halted near the neck of Gwalior.
The crowd looked in shock, watching with wide eyes.
Yan smiled.
"That's dirty and pathetic," Gwalior rubbed his eyes.
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
"So what of it?" The voice did not come from Chen Yu, but from Yan.
"You would have died just now if it was a real battle," Yan said.
Gwalior stared at Yan. "Commander, I am going to teach this guy a lesson."
And immediately walked toward Yan.
"Wait... you can't..." Chen Yu said.
But Gwalior was already in front of Yan. He clenched his fist and was about to hit Yan on the head, but the scene in front of his eyes changed, he could see stars in the sky.
A moment ago, he was standing on the ground. The next moment, he was falling.
Thud.
As Gwalior crashed to the ground, Yan already came out of the pit.
Gwalior glared at Yan. Yan was rubbing his chin.
"Damn!" Gwalior shouted as he stood up, then he tried to grab Yan.
Yan took two steps backwards.
Gwalior's legs slipped again and he fell on his forehead.
Gwalior brought his hand to the ground, pushed himself up, and sat. Then he looked up.
But Yan was not there. Then he felt a hand on his shoulder.
"Shh..." Yan knelt on one leg beside him.
Then he felt his shoulder paining a lot. It appeared as if his bones might break.
"Thank you," Yan looked at Gwalior, whose expression was stiff, trying hard not to shout out in pain.
"For teaching me how to slip." Yan said as he stood up, pulled his arm away from Gwalior's shoulder, and walked away.
Then Gwalior stood up. He looked at all the eyes glancing at him and shouted, "What are you looking at? Go to sleep. We have to wake up early in the morning tomorrow."
Then he walked to his campfire and laid on the ground, keeping his right hand over his eyes.
"Is that?"
"Could he be?"
The skinny man recalled some of the stories of Han Defu's Unit from the previous war.
Then he gulped his saliva.
The next day, the column began to march on the first ray of the sun.
They walked about five hours. Then Chen Yu approached Gwalior and said, "Let's spar."
Gwalior raised his brows. He looked at the man buried in the ground with his head up and said, "Who is he? Why is he so strong?"
"That's Yan. He is just weird. Don't worry about him." Chen Yu said.
"I really want to spar now without any dirty tricks," Chen Yu unsheathed his sword.
Gwalior looked at Chen Yu and asked, "Will he mind?"
"He won't," Chen Yu replied.
Then Gwalior unsheathed his sword.
Chen Yu's aura spread out as he charged at Gwalior.
Tung.
Their blades clashed. Chen Yu felt Gwalior's sword a bit heavier than his. His sword was pushed back a bit, but there was not an enormous difference in strength that he could not handle.
Tung.
Tung.
Tung.
Their swords clashed multiple times. Chen Yu was pushed back at each clash.
Then Gwalior raised his sword and aimed at Chen Yu's sword again.
But this time, Chen Yu's sword moved away. Gwalior's sword missed it, and then Chen Yu's sword directly charged at Gwalior's neck.
Gwalior reacted and moved his sword up.
Tung.
He pushed Chen Yu's sword up.
But Chen Yu immediately brought the sword back down.
Tung.
"Why are you not using the fire qi?" Chen Yu asked.
"Commander, I don't want to accidentally injure you." Gwalior said.
Chen Yu stopped moving around.
Then he took a deep breath and said, "Use it."
