When they arrived at the Grand Golden Pavilion Hotel, they saw a sea of people. Many were waiting for a table.

"I told you, there wouldn’t be any tables..." It was Yang Lin’s first time here, and she was astonished by the sheer number of people.

"It’s fine!" Li Yang smiled and led her into the hotel.

Just as they got upstairs, they saw Han Qiuyue hurrying over. "What made you think of coming to my place for dinner? Come on, I’ve already arranged a table for you."

Yang Lin looked at Li Yang, her face a mask of surprise.

"This is Sister Han, the manager of the Golden Pavilion Hotel..." Li Yang said with a smile. "I’m one of their suppliers."

"Oh, I see!" Yang Lin finally understood.

"Are you his girlfriend?" Han Qiuyue asked with a smile.

Yang Lin suddenly blushed crimson. "I’m not..."

"Sister Han, don’t joke around. She did me a huge favor, so I’m just treating her to a meal," Li Yang quickly explained.

That was exactly what it was, but for some reason, Yang Lin felt a little strange, as if she really didn’t want Li Yang to explain it that way.

"Alright, come on over!" Han Qiuyue said with a smile.

They went into a private room and sat down. After recommending a few dishes, Han Qiuyue finally said, "Your menu is still a bit monotonous. You need to get me some new dishes, and fast."

"You’ve been getting the chickens, right?" Li Yang asked.

"Yes, but only ten a day!" Han Qiuyue said, a bit helplessly. "The customers are going crazy for the chicken, but where am I supposed to get that many for them?"

"Please bear with us!" Li Yang said resignedly. "We’re already buying up all the chickens in the village. We’d love to supply you with more, but that’s all there are!"

"I understand!" Han Qiuyue nodded. "But you have to try and speed things up. I’m under a lot of pressure here."

"Alright. I might be able to supply you with fish after a while," Li Yang said with a smile.

"Great. Well, I won’t disturb your meal any longer. By the way, don’t pay later. This is on me."

As soon as Han Qiuyue left, Yang Lin asked in amazement, "Did you earn the money to build the school by supplying them?"

Li Yang couldn’t be bothered to explain, so he just nodded. "More or less."

"That must be a lot of supplies!" Yang Lin exclaimed. "How can you be so generous?"

Li Yang gave a dry laugh. ’I can’t just say it was so I could sleep with Aunt Xiu, can I?’

"It’s just that our school building is about to collapse. Nothing more to it. Come on, the food’s here. Let’s eat!"

The dishes arrived quickly, and it was a rich spread.

After taking a bite, Yang Lin couldn’t stop marveling at how delicious it was. She had never tasted anything like it.

After they finished eating, Li Yang walked her out.

"Let me take you home!" He checked the time. It was already past seven in the evening. After dropping her off, Li Yang had to head back to the village.

"No, it’s okay. I can just get a cab," Yang Lin said.

"I can’t let you do that!" Li Yang shook his head. "It’s so late. I’ll feel better if I take you. Come on, get in the car!"

Yang Lin felt a small flutter of joy as she got into the car.

With Yang Lin giving directions, Li Yang quickly found the way.

Seeing the residential buildings ahead in the distance, Yang Lin immediately said, "You can stop here. The alley inside is a bit narrow. I can walk the rest of the way. Thank you so much!"

"Alright!" Since her home was just ahead, Li Yang didn’t make a fuss about taking her all the way to her door. "I should be the one thanking you for today. Don’t thank me again. Our school is the one that really owes you."

Yang Lin’s face broke into a smile. She nodded and said, "Okay then. When your school is finished, can I come and see it?"

"Of course! You’re welcome anytime!"

Yang Lin smiled. "It’s getting late. You should head back, too. Goodbye!"

With that, Yang Lin waved as she backed away, and quickly disappeared into the alley.

Li Yang smiled faintly. ’What a truly considerate girl. Whoever marries someone like her will be one lucky man.’

He averted his gaze and was about to get back in his car.

But just then, out of the corner of his eye, he saw Yang Lin open her front gate. A large hand suddenly shot out from inside and yanked her in.

"Ah—" Yang Lin let out a small shriek that was cut off abruptly.

Li Yang was already running over in an instant.

’What’s going on?!’

BANG! BANG!

The gate had already slammed shut. Li Yang pounded on it desperately. "Yang Lin, are you okay?"

Just then, the gate swung open with a BANG, and a man with a brutish face appeared before Li Yang. He looked at him coldly and said, "Get lost."

Li Yang sensed a palpable aura of danger.

"Where’s my friend?" Li Yang demanded in a low voice. "What did you do to her? Hand her over, now!"

"Get lost!" The man was getting pissed and swung a slap at him.

But he had greatly overestimated himself. Before his hand could reach Li Yang’s face, Li Yang had already grabbed it.

Li Yang kicked out hard, sending the man flying backward.

At the same time, Li Yang stepped into the small courtyard.

Inside, several burly men were standing around.

In their midst sat three people.

A young man with an extraordinary air, a middle-aged man with a terrified expression, and Yang Lin, her face stained with tears.
