The Supreme Village Doctor

Chapter 46: Chapter 47: Shocking News
The proprietress chuckled.
She wasn’t kidding. If Li Yang was willing, she’d lie back right now and let him try every position he wanted.
It couldn’t be helped. The dishes at the Grand Golden Pavilion Hotel were in a class of their own. Countless other hotels were trying to uncover their secrets, but the Golden Pavilion Hotel remained tight-lipped, refusing to reveal anything.
To think that such a treasure would deliver himself right to her doorstep.
"Proprietress, mixing business with these kinds of... unspoken rules isn’t a good look!" Li Yang gulped.
He could tell that if he actually slept with her, the proprietress wouldn’t have the slightest objection.
But he had more important things to do.
"I also wanted to ask you—I’m thinking of opening a mountain resort like this one, but I have no experience and no staff. Could you do me a favor?"
"You want to open a mountain resort, too?" The proprietress looked at him warily. "Are you trying to steal my business?"
"You’re overthinking it. I wouldn’t open it here!" Li Yang said. "I’d open it in my village. Do you think that could work?"
"In a village?" The proprietress raised an eyebrow. "Where are you from?"
"Gaodi Town!"
"Are you kidding me!" the proprietress scoffed. "That place is miles from the city. Who’s going to go all the way out there to eat? Sure, a mountain resort should be outside the city, but not that far. You won’t get any customers."
"But I think my village has the potential to develop its tourism. We might get customers then," Li Yang said thoughtfully.
"Fine. If you insist on opening one, I can help you find people and even help with the planning. But I’m advising you to just drop it. It’s impossible. It’ll never succeed," the proprietress urged.
"Don’t you worry about that!" Li Yang said with a grin. "But thanks, Proprietress."
"So stubborn!" The proprietress shook her head.
Since Li Yang was insistent, there was nothing she could do.
Having settled things, Li Yang was in a great mood and walked out with the proprietress.
"Which table are you at?" the proprietress asked. "Your meal is on the house today."
"Oh, definitely not!" Li Yang immediately shook his head. "I’m not the one paying, someone else is treating me. Don’t comp it. In fact, you can even charge them a little extra."
"Do you have a grudge against them or something?" The proprietress was baffled.
Just then, the group finished their meal and came over.
"The bill, please!" The stepmother stepped forward, taking out her wallet.
"Of course..." The proprietress went to tally the bill, then announced, "The total comes to two thousand three hundred."
’Over two thousand for just a few dishes.’
’Running a mountain resort really is profitable!’
"Let’s go!" Qin Gang left without so much as another word to Li Yang.
"Come on, let’s go!" Qin Susu said to Li Yang, clearly unhappy but unable to do anything about it.
Li Yang was about to leave when he saw the proprietress give him a meaningful look.
’What was that about?’
"Ah, I... gotta go again. You guys go on ahead. We’re not going the same way, and I have to head back anyway," Li Yang said, making an excuse.
Qin Susu clearly wanted to say something else, but with her grandmother waiting, she could only nod and leave.
"What’s up?" Once they were a safe distance away, Li Yang sidled closer, his gaze landing on the proprietress’s magnificent chest. "Proprietress, I’m not just being polite. I’m mainly worried you won’t be able to do business after I’ve ravaged you."
"You little rascal!" The proprietress laughed, exasperated. She then asked seriously, "Who were those people to you?"
"The young lady is a friend of mine. The one with the sour look on his face is her dad, the one who paid is her stepmom, and those two little brats are her stepsister and stepbrother. Not blood-related, of course."
"You knew they weren’t her real siblings?" the proprietress asked, a little surprised.
"They’re half-siblings, from different mothers!" Li Yang nodded. "So of course they’re not full siblings."
"Bullshit!" the proprietress snapped. "So you don’t know a thing. I bet the poor cuckold doesn’t know either. Tsk, tsk, tsk..."
"What?" Li Yang’s interest was immediately piqued. ’Another cuckold story? I’m all ears!’
"Honestly, you..." Seeing Li Yang’s eager expression, the proprietress found it amusing. She continued in a serious tone, "That stepmother who just paid the bill? She comes here to eat pretty often. I’ve seen her several times with a middle-aged man. And, well... her two kids look a lot like him. So my guess is, those two kids aren’t your friend’s father’s children at all. They belong to that other man."
’Holy shit, what a bombshell!’
Li Yang stood there, speechless.
"Proprietress, is this place some kind of magnet for your kind?" Li Yang finally asked in amazement after a moment. "How come all the cheaters love to eat here?"
"Get lost!" The proprietress shot him a glare. "I’m no cheater. I’ve been divorced for ages."
Li Yang just said, "Oh," and nodded. "Thanks for giving me such a juicy piece of gossip. By the way, do you know who that man is? What’s his story?"
"How would I know!" The proprietress shook her head. "This isn’t a hotel where I have to register people’s IDs. It’s just a restaurant."
’That’s true,’ Li Yang thought.
’What a shame!’
"But if you really want to keep tabs, I can keep an eye out the next time they come to eat. I can at least get a photo for you," the proprietress added.
"Perfect!" Li Yang nodded at once. "It’s a deal, then. Alright, I’m off!"
With that, Li Yang turned to leave.
"Wait a second..." the proprietress called after him again. "When can you start supplying your vegetables?"
