Li Yang felt a bit awkward but wasn’t ready to give up. "Sister Zhi, don’t think like that. You’re a natural-born model! I think a show like this is barely worthy of you. Why don’t we at least try?"

"How can we try?" Bai Zhi was actually a little tempted, but she was also afraid of getting back on stage after so long. "There’s no way, unless someone drops out or..."

"Drops out!" Li Yang slapped his forehead. "That could work! Can you get a list of the models? See if there’s anyone we can persuade to quit?"

Bai Zhi was utterly speechless, but after a moment’s thought, she decided to listen to Li Yang. "I... I do know someone from the organizing committee. Maybe I could contact them?"

"Contact them!" Li Yang said excitedly. "This is the path to Sister Zhi’s big comeback! You have to get in touch. It’d be best to arrange a meeting."

Li Yang’s words stirred something in Bai Zhi. Besides, her scar wasn’t as much of an issue anymore, and she truly did want to relive her old dream. Steeling herself, she said, "Alright, I’ll give it a try."

With that, she picked up her phone and dialed a number she hadn’t called in a very long time.

"Mr. Lin, hello. Do you remember me? It’s Bai Zhi. When might you be free? I’d like to talk to you about something... Oh, you’re in Ruizhou? Great! In that case, why don’t we meet for lunch? My treat!"

After hanging up, Bai Zhi said excitedly, "This is great! Mr. Lin happens to be in Ruizhou right now."

Li Yang was excited too. "See? I told you it was your destiny to make a comeback! Look at this timing. It’s a sign!"

Bai Zhi couldn’t help but feel the urge to roll her eyes. This guy could really spin a yarn, connecting things that had nothing to do with each other.

"Sister Zhi, I think he’s right this time," Qiu Yi chimed in.

"Alright, I’ll take you with me to the meeting at noon," Bai Zhi said to Li Yang. "It’ll be a good chance for you to meet him too."

Li Yang nodded.

He didn’t really care about meeting the man. His plan was to just sit back and rake in the money later on.

But since this was their first meeting, he wanted to help Bai Zhi get things sorted out, so it was a good idea for him to go along and meet the person.

When noon arrived, the two of them headed straight for the designated hotel.

The appointed hotel was the Grand Golden Pavilion Hotel.

When they arrived and entered the private room, they saw two people already seated inside.

Bai Zhi was initially pleased to see the man in his thirties, but when she noticed the equally beautiful woman sitting next to him, her expression darkened for a fleeting moment. She quickly recovered and walked forward to greet them. "Mr. Lin, you’re here already. And Gong Yi, it’s been a long time."

The beautiful woman named Gong Yi smiled faintly and said, "I never imagined our very own Sister Bai would be treating us to a meal."

Bai Zhi glanced at them. Judging by their intimacy, it was clear the two were most likely a couple.

Li Yang walked in and took a look at the pair.

This Gong Yi looked to be in her late twenties, several years younger than Sister Zhi. She was very beautiful with excellent proportions—clearly a model as well.
