Liuwan came and went in a rush, leaving without even staying for a meal.

That evening, after dinner, Li Yang was once again sitting on a small chair by the lake at the Anglers’ Center.

Gao Xin Xue walked over. "The dormitories are finished and ready for use," she said. "The number of anglers has been very steady. I spoke with Liu Jinsheng, and he said the market is only so big. At most, we get two or three busloads; at worst, maybe only one."

Just as he was about to lock the door, Li Yang received a call from Zhao Xuechu. "The medicine you told me about... I’ve asked around, but I really can’t find it."

Li Yang froze. ’I forgot about that again.’

"It’s normal that you couldn’t find it..." Li Yang began. "It really is quite difficult to get. You basically can’t find it anywhere these days."

"Then what are we going to do?" Zhao Xuechu was truly a good friend to Xiao Zhen, worrying anxiously on her behalf. "If she doesn’t get this medicine, her illness really can’t be cured, right?"

Li Yang thought for a moment. "Let me see if I can find it for you," he said.

"Oh, thank you so much! Let me treat you to a meal another time," Zhao Xuechu said with sincerity.

Li Yang just smiled.

After he hung up, he got another call from an unfamiliar number.

"President Li..." Tang Ru’s coquettish voice came from the other end. "I’ve already made the appointment with my friend for tomorrow. You need to come with me to take a look at her. If you can really cure her, I’ll have a generous reward for you, you know."

Li Yang nodded. "Alright. A handsome reward will do just fine!"

Early the next morning, Li Yang headed into the city to find Tang Ru.

He had two main tasks: help Tang Ru solve her problem, then figure out how to set up a small convenience store and secure some supply channels.

He didn’t go to Tang Ru’s store, but arranged to meet her outside. She came out to meet him there.

"This is your car?" Tang Ru asked, looking at Li Yang’s pickup truck in disbelief. "Your businesses are booming, and you’re still driving something like this?"

"Is there a problem with it?" Li Yang, for his part, saw nothing wrong. "This truck is great," he said earnestly. "It can carry people and cargo. So practical."

Tang Ru didn’t know what to say and could only nod with a wry smile.

"Let’s go. You give directions, I’ll drive!"

Following Tang Ru’s directions, they finally arrived at their destination.

"What a nice place!" Li Yang got out of the truck, took a look around, and clicked his tongue in appreciation. "Rich people."

This was clearly an upscale villa community. The landscaping was exceptionally well done, with villas nestled amidst the greenery, creating a refreshing and pleasant sight.

"Let’s go. And don’t say too much in a bit," Tang Ru said to Li Yang.

Li Yang gave a mischievous grin and followed Tang Ru inside.

They arrived outside a large villa, where Tang Ru told Li Yang to wait while she went up to the main gate. "Miss Qi."

A moment later, the gate opened, and a beautiful, graceful woman stepped out. "You’ve arrived..."

"Miss Qi, he’s here," Tang Ru said, turning her head to indicate Li Yang.

"Him?" Miss Qi raised her eyebrows, looking as if she didn’t quite believe in Li Yang. "Are you sure he’s the one?"

"I’ve tried him. He’s really not bad," Tang Ru said with a nod. "His skills are excellent, and he has a unique perspective on medicine."

Miss Qi hesitated for a moment. "Come in!"

The two women weren’t speaking loudly, and Li Yang was standing far away. A normal person probably wouldn’t have heard their conversation, but Li Yang could.

’Friends?’

Li Yang was surprised. ’Tang Ru lied to me. This isn’t a friend at all. She’s a client.’

"Take good care of my friend," Tang Ru said after they went inside, patting Li Yang on the shoulder. "You have to do a good job, you hear?"

Li Yang gave a simple, good-natured smile.

Only then did Tang Ru nod, satisfied.

This person was, of course, no friend of hers. Quite the opposite. She wasn’t a friend, but a client—one whom Tang Ru was trying by all means to curry favor with.
