Li Yang chuckled and finally pulled the door shut.

After showering, Li Yang lay down on his bed.

He had just lain down when he saw that Gao Xin Xue had, surprisingly, sent him a message.

Li Yang opened it, and a thrill shot through him.

Just as he finished brushing his teeth, Mr. Zhong arrived.

He had driven himself over, his car loaded with belongings.

"Mr. Zhong..." Li Yang went forward to greet him.

"Alright then. From now on, I’ll consider this my little retreat," Mr. Zhong said.

"Welcome!" Li Yang said sincerely. "By the way, I rented an old house for you near the fields. It’s a good place, just... well, it’s a house like ours..."

"No problem!" Mr. Zhong shook his head. "As long as it’s tidy, it’s fine."

"Okay, I’ll take you there." Li Yang quickly led the way for Mr. Zhong.

It seemed Mr. Zhong truly didn’t care about such things. He didn’t say a word, just put his belongings down and went to inspect the fields without even needing Li Yang to accompany him.

However, just as he was about to leave, Mr. Zhong asked with a puzzled expression, "I still can’t figure out what you watered the Morning Bell Flowers with that day. Since I’m working for you now, you have to tell me, don’t you?"

Li Yang mulled it over for a moment before saying, "Mr. Zhong, how about this, let me think about it."

Mr. Zhong was taken aback for a second but immediately nodded. "If you’re in a difficult position, you don’t have to say."

Li Yang gave a dry laugh.

Leaving Mr. Zhong to look around by himself, Li Yang went back home, thought for a moment, and made a call to Zhang Rong. "Aunt Rong, I have a question for you. What kind of person is this Mr. Zhong?" 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂

Zhang Rong was stunned for a moment. "What do you mean by that?"

"Just tell me, can he be trusted?"

He used to be a professor in another city, but it seems he clashed with the school’s administration. He quit in a huff and came back here to start his own farm. He’s a man of uncompromising integrity."

Li Yang understood. He smiled and nodded, then suddenly added, "Aunt Rong, you’ve corrupted Sister Gao."

"Huh?" Zhang Rong paused. "What?"

"I said you corrupted Sister Gao. You tell her not to send me those kinds of pictures anymore," Li Yang said irritably before hanging up.

Only then did it click for Zhang Rong. She had just been about to ask for details when she realized Li Yang had already ended the call.

’Don’t tell me something’s going on between those two?’ Zhang Rong wondered.

But she didn’t have time to dwell on it. Business was good today; quite a few people had come in to ask questions, sign up for membership cards, or buy medicine.
