Chapter 211: Chapter 212: Ulterior Motive

She stood there, frozen, terrified she’d lose control at any moment. After a full two minutes, once she was sure she was fine, she gritted her teeth and glared at Li Yang.

"Aunt Rong, what’s wrong?" Li Yang asked, dumbfounded. He had no idea what she was doing. "Why are you just standing there, not moving...?"

’Aunt Rong was mortified. ’Seriously? Doesn’t this guy know what he’s done?’’

But then, Li Yang understood. His eyes suddenly shot wide open...

"You little bastard, how dare you keep talking nonsense!" Zhang Rong cursed, pointing at him. "If you dare say one more word, I’ll chop you to bits."

Li Yang gave a hollow laugh. "I won’t say another word, I promise. But Aunt Rong, if you need any help, you know where to find me."

"Get lost!" Zhang Rong snapped.

Li Yang chuckled mischievously and lowered his head to prepare the vegetables again.

Zhang Rong took a deep breath. ’I’m not angry. I won’t stoop to this little rascal’s level...’

But even as she thought this, she couldn’t resist walking up to him and giving his arm a hard pinch.

"OW..." Li Yang grimaced. "That hurts... Aunt Rong, let go..."

"You little bastard, if you dare to tease me again, I won’t go easy on you." Seeing him suck in a sharp breath, Zhang Rong felt a pang of guilt and finally let him go.

Li Yang glanced at his arm and rubbed it. "Aunt Rong, you’re so ruthless! Look what you’ve done to me."

"Get back to the vegetables!" Aunt Rong glared, then moved far away from him.

Watching her graceful figure retreat, Li Yang couldn’t help but lick his lips.

’I can’t help it. You won’t keep your promise to me, so all I can do is tease you a little.’

After he finished preparing the vegetables, he netted several fish, gathered some meat, and brought everything over to the Anglers’ Center.

By then, the anglers had all left, leaving only the tourists behind.

Having just finished their meal, everyone was out for a stroll.

Everyone was full of praise for the scenery.

"Hey, boss, are you really treating us to a barbecue?" one of the tourists asked with a smile, seeing Li Yang getting things ready.

"That’s right," Li Yang said. "We’ll start at eight. You can all come and have some after your walk."

"We’ll definitely be there!"

...

Li Yang set everything up by himself. Once it was all arranged, he returned to the Anglers’ Center to eat.

Gao Xin Xue had already gotten to know Zhang Rong, and the two were chatting away.

Li Yang gave them a curious glance. ’That’s strange. A little while ago, Aunt Rong seemed jealous of Gao Xin Xue, but now they look like best friends.’

’Women are such mysterious creatures.’

At eight o’clock, the area quickly grew lively.

The weather was perfect: the moon was full and bright, illuminating the area despite the lack of streetlights.

The tourists all joined in. And since Li Yang had brought out the good stuff, the atmosphere quickly became festive.

Seizing the opportunity, Li Yang smiled and addressed the crowd. "You’ve all spent the day here in our village. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Do you have any suggestions for us?"

"I think it’s great!" one person immediately piped up. "I really like it."

"It’s a bit boring!" someone else immediately countered. "I mean, we came here for the experience, but there’s not much to do. Of course, the scenery is amazing, we’ll give you that."

"It would be great if there were more facilities and activities!"

"Yeah!"

...

Li Yang took all their comments to heart.

"See?" Zhang Rong said to Gao Xin Xue, annoyed. "That guy is as cunning as they come. It looks like he’s treating everyone, but he’s really just gathering intelligence."

Gao Xin Xue smiled faintly. "Cunning as they come."

Li Yang seemed to overhear the two women muttering and shot them an irritated glare.

The barbecue lasted until around ten o’clock, after which everyone headed back to bed.

The three of them packed everything up and took it back to the Anglers’ Center before finally heading home.

"You two can shower first," Li Yang said.

"No peeking," Zhang Rong said.

Li Yang laughed in exasperation. "Aunt Rong, what are you thinking? Am I that kind of person?"

Gao Xin Xue let out a snort of laughter. To be fair, Li Yang was quite disciplined in that regard. She had been staying here for several days, and he had never tried anything like that.

"Who knows what you’d do," Zhang Rong said seriously. "I don’t trust you anymore."

"Alright, alright..." Li Yang said with a note of resignation. "I’ll go outside, okay?"

Zhang Rong smiled too. It wasn’t easy to get Li Yang this flustered.

"At least you’re self-aware. Now hurry up and get out," Zhang Rong said.

Li Yang was truly exasperated. ’What’s with these people!’
