The Supreme Village Doctor
Chapter 201 - 202: Persuading the Landlord
Chapter 201: Chapter 202: Persuading the Landlord
The landlord nodded. After all, he got a physical every year.
"Overall, there’s nothing majorly wrong, but you still have some minor issues," Li Yang continued. "For example, you sometimes break out in a cold sweat while sleeping, and you also feel some digestive discomfort, right?"
The landlord stared at Li Yang in surprise. "You... how did you know?"
"These aren’t any major problems, just minor ones. But I’m sure they make you uncomfortable, right?"
The landlord rushed forward. "Can you fix it?"
Li Yang smiled. "Please open the door. Is there a place to lie down inside? I’ll just use a few needles on you, and that should take care of it."
"Alright!" The landlord immediately opened the door and led Li Yang inside.
The landlord lay down on a table inside. "Alright, have a look," he said.
Li Yang took out his silver needles. "Just a few needles should do the trick," he said.
As soon as he finished speaking, Li Yang’s hands flew, inserting the needles with practiced speed.
A few minutes later, Li Yang removed the needles.
The landlord stood up and took a moment to feel the effects.
A moment ago, he’d felt a faint discomfort in his stomach, but now a pleasant warmth had spread through it, and he felt incredibly comfortable.
"You’re all set!" Li Yang said with a smile. "Nothing to worry about now."
"You’re a Divine Doctor!" The landlord was dumbfounded. He’d been to the hospital multiple times for this minor ailment, and the doctors always said it was nothing serious, just something he needed to manage himself. But he’d also visited herbal pharmacies several times and taken plenty of medicine, and none of it had helped.
He never expected this young man to cure him with a single treatment.
"That’s incredible!" The landlord stared at Li Yang in amazement. "Is this the kind of shop you’re planning to open?"
"That’s right!" Li Yang nodded. "Our main focus is sub-health. People in the city work all the time and don’t get much exercise, so it’s easy for them to fall into that state."
"I’d be willing to rent it to you..." The landlord was starting to waver. ’If a shop like this opened here, it would be so convenient for me to visit.’ "It’s just that..."
"Your relative is a chef, right?" An idea struck Li Yang. "Why don’t you ask if he’d be willing to come work for me? Our village is hiring a chef right now. See if he’s interested."
"Really?" The landlord’s interest was piqued. "It’s him and his wife; they work together."
"No problem, I’ll hire them both." Li Yang grinned. "We have an Angler’s Center in our village that needs a chef. I can hire him to work there. Later on, we’re planning to open a mountain resort, and if his cooking is good, he can become the chef there. As for salary... it shouldn’t be any less than what he makes running his own small restaurant, and it’ll be less exhausting. Why don’t you ask him if he’s interested?"
"Alright!" the landlord said instantly. "Then I won’t waste any more words. With skills like yours, I’d love for you to open a shop here. That way, if any of us feel unwell in the future, we can come to you. Let’s do it. I’ll go home, grab the contract, and we can sign it right away."
"Sounds good!" Li Yang said with a laugh. "Then it’s a deal."
The landlord happily hurried back to get the contract.
"You’re really something else..." Zhang Rong was stunned. She hadn’t expected Li Yang to win him over so easily.
Li Yang chuckled. "As long as someone’s feeling a bit under the weather, I can persuade them."
Zhang Rong considered this and realized the business truly had a future. With abilities like Li Yang’s, making money wouldn’t be a problem at all.
Before long, the landlord returned with the contract, and they signed the lease for the shop.
Zhang Rong paid the rent. Li Yang didn’t have much money, and since he was contributing his skills and the medicine, Zhang Rong covered the finances.
"Here’s my contact information, and this is for our resort manager..." Li Yang gave the landlord both his and Gao Xin Xue’s numbers. "Pass these on to your relative. If he’s interested in coming to our village, have him give either me or the manager a call first. We can discuss the details then, alright?"
"Great!" the landlord said cheerfully. "So when will you be opening?"
"In a little while. We’ll open as soon as the renovations are finished. We’ll try to be quick about it," Li Yang said with a smile.
"Excellent, excellent! I’ll go spread the word for you!" The landlord was thrilled. "Having a place like yours around here is a great thing for the neighborhood."
After getting the keys, Li Yang and Zhang Rong left.
"So? What do you think?" Li Yang said to Zhang Rong in the car, full of himself. "Aunt Rong, have I completely won you over with my talent?"
Zhang Rong nearly fell out of her seat. "Just look at you, so full of yourself."
"Oh, right. You should get started on the renovations. Get the shop ready, and I’ll head back to prepare more medicine."
"What’s our business model going to be?" Zhang Rong asked. "Are we just going to sell medicine?"
"That won’t be enough!" Li Yang shook his head. "I’ll have to give it some more thought. But this medicine is too effective to just ignore, so we definitely have to sell it. We’ll offer other services besides just selling medicine, though. Don’t worry, we’ll have plenty of business. By the way, I need to run an errand now. Do you want to come with me, or should I take you home?"
"What kind of errand?" Zhang Rong asked, looking at Li Yang. "Something legitimate?"
