Chapter 159: Chapter 160: Volunteering as a Masseuse

Li Yang was dumbfounded. "Aunt Lian, you don’t have to be so harsh..."

But as he thought about it, his eyes suddenly lit up.

He abruptly stood up.

’My God, I’ve been wanting to make some quick cash, and this is it! Aunt Lian was right. I’ll go give people massages! With my skills, if I specifically target rich people... that’ll be a cinch.’

Li Yang burst out laughing.

’I’ve found another path to riches!’

’I should get to sleep. Tomorrow, I’ll go into the city and find a place. It’s just... it feels a little embarrassing for a grown man to do this. I’d better make sure no one finds out.’

After a great night’s sleep, Li Yang left the village the next morning and headed into the city.

’If I want to give massages to rich people, I can’t just go out and find clients myself. I don’t have those kinds of connections.’

’Besides, people wouldn’t trust me anyway. So, when it comes down to it, I have to find a legitimate massage establishment and work there. That’s the only way I’ll be able to meet those kinds of clients.’

With that in mind, Li Yang immediately headed to a well-known hotel in Ruizhou: the Grand Fenglaiyi Hotel!

Li Yang had a vague idea that this hotel offered massages, but he’d also heard that the prices were quite steep.

Of course, the hotel itself was very high-end.

After arriving at the Fenglaiyi Hotel, Li Yang hesitated. He really didn’t know how to bring this up with the staff. With no other choice, he finally walked up to the front desk and asked, "Is your manager in?"

The staff at the desk were taken aback. "Can I help you, sir?"

"I hear you’re hiring..." Li Yang said, pointing to a sign in the lobby. "You’re looking for massage therapists, right? I’m here to apply."

The receptionist let out an involuntary snort of laughter, but she quickly put on an apologetic expression. "I’m so sorry, I couldn’t help myself. But sir, we only hire female massage therapists here, not men. That’s because our clientele is very specific. We are a legitimate business, and we serve only female clients."

"A legitimate establishment is exactly what I’m looking for," Li Yang said with a straight face. "Why else would I be here? Go on, tell your manager I’m here to apply."

The receptionist was dumbfounded, unable to tell if Li Yang was serious or just kidding.

’My God, what’s with this guy?’

Quite a few of the hotel employees had already started whispering among themselves.

"Manager Gao, there’s a gentleman here who says he wants to apply for the massage therapist position, and he’s insisting on seeing you. Perhaps you could meet with him?" The receptionist was out of options. Seeing the look on Li Yang’s face—one that said ’I’m not leaving until I see the manager’—she knew he was serious. Having him make a scene wasn’t an option, so she had no choice but to call the manager.

Manager Gao was stunned as well, wondering if she had misheard.

"Alright, bring him to my office. I’ll talk to him," Manager Gao said after a moment, sounding exasperated.

"Okay!"

Under the stares of numerous hotel employees, Li Yang was ceremoniously escorted into the manager’s office.

As soon as he walked in, Li Yang’s eyes lit up.

’The manager is another stunning beauty!’

Manager Gao was sitting there. She glanced at Li Yang, and her eyes also lit up.

’Not bad. This young man is pretty clean-cut. And you can tell he’s from the countryside with just one look.’

The receptionist showed Li Yang in and then excused herself.

"So, you want to apply to be a massage therapist at our hotel?" Manager Gao asked, looking at Li Yang with some amusement. "Do you know who our target clientele is?"

"Of course!" Li Yang said in all seriousness. "You primarily cater to a female clientele. This is a legitimate establishment."

Manager Gao laughed. "If that’s the case, then do you, a grown man, really think you’re a suitable candidate?"

"Manager, that’s where you’re wrong. In the eyes of a professional massage therapist, a person isn’t a person; they’re just a client. You shouldn’t assume my intentions are so sordid."

Manager Gao was dumbfounded. ’Wait... am *I* the one making this sound sordid?’

"Look, young man, if you just want a job, our hotel has other positions available. A server, for instance..."

"No, no, no..." Li Yang rejected her kind offer. "I’m here to be a massage therapist," he said earnestly.

Manager Gao was so exasperated she almost laughed. "It’s not that I don’t want to agree, it’s just that it’s genuinely not possible..."

"Manager Gao, you have a three-year-old child, don’t you...?" Li Yang suddenly asked.

Manager Gao froze. "How did you know that?"

She was already on guard.

"Don’t get the wrong idea. I haven’t done a background check on you or anything. I can just tell from your physique that you’ve given birth, and that it was three years ago."

Manager Gao stared at him in astonishment. "You can tell all that just by looking?"

Li Yang gave a slight, knowing smile. For him, this was nothing.

"Not only do I know that, but I also know that from breastfeeding, your breasts have started to sag. Am I right?" Li Yang said with a mysterious expression.

Manager Gao’s face flushed red.

"Furthermore, due to physiological reasons, you often experience weakness and pain in your lower back and legs. You probably get massages here at the hotel fairly often, right? But it’s a shame they’re not very effective. Especially when it comes to the sagging... they have practically no effect at all, do they?" Li Yang said, looking like some kind of all-knowing mystic.
