Chapter 27: 27 Clearing the Suspicions

Chapter 27 Clearing the Suspicions

At the end of the afternoon, the door opened again. Two female disciples were standing outside, and one of them asked:

"Is he still attending to clients?"

Mei Liang looked at Yun Che. Then she looked at the line that was beginning to form in the corridor.

Yun Che remained motionless. However, inwardly, he was pleased because his mission was progressing wonderfully.

He was no longer known as the useless person in the Massage House who was only good for household chores. Now people were coming specifically to look for him.

And among the disciples’ murmurs, there was a conversation that caught his attention.

"The Ancient Flower Secret Realm will open in a few days."

"Then we have to improve quickly."

Yun Che narrowed his eyes. The Secret Realm.

Just hearing those words made the atmosphere feel different. The opportunity was approaching, and with it, an even greater danger was lurking.

And he needed to be prepared. Not only to complete the mission, but also to survive what would come afterward.

The door opened again. Another customer entered, and Yun Che immediately stood up.

"Come in."

The woman hesitated for a moment. Then she entered, and the door closed. The blue light of the system appeared before Yun Che’s eyes.

[Next valid contact in progress.]

He looked at the message. There were still thirteen left, but he believed he would be able to complete the mission.

The door of the Massage House opened again. A female disciple entered hurriedly, still breathing slightly heavily after crossing the corridor.

"I’m looking for Yun Che. He’s here, right?"

The atmosphere changed. It was not a major change, merely a brief silence, but everyone noticed it. On the other side of the hall, two workers exchanged glances.

One of them, a man named Zhao Liang, tightened his fingers around the towel he was holding.

"Again? Why are so many female cultivators so interested in our floor cleaner?"

The woman did not notice the comment.

"I was told that he can identify where the energy is trapped and adjust the massage accordingly."

"He really can," another disciple sitting nearby waiting replied. "I tried it yesterday, and it’s very good, I must say. Whoever recommended him wasn’t lying."

The first woman approached, curious.

"And how was it?"

The disciple hesitated for a moment, as if carefully choosing her words.

"It was... different."

"Different how?"

"He immediately noticed where I was accumulating tension. I barely had to explain anything."

"Then, when he started the treatment, the sensation was very pleasant. When it ended, it felt as though he had removed an entire layer of weight from my body."

Another disciple joined the conversation.

"I had the same feeling. The strangest thing is his fingers. The pressure changes exactly when it should, making you shudder with pure pleasure. He’s incredible."

"It’s not brute force. It’s as if he knows exactly where to touch. It’s delightful."

The first woman looked toward Yun Che’s room.

"So, is it worth it?"

The other smiled.

"Yes. I’m already thinking about coming back."

Zhao Liang heard that. His face darkened.

"Enough."

The three women looked at him. Zhao Liang approached and spoke with an irritation he could no longer conceal.

"This house has existed for years. There are people here who work every day to perfect their own techniques."

"Then, all of a sudden, someone who until recently was considered useless, someone who was only good for cleaning the floor and performing various household tasks for Mei Liang, starts receiving almost all the customers."

Yun Che came out of the room at that moment and stopped when he heard those words.

"Are you talking about me?"

Zhao Liang turned around.

"Of course I am. What kind of sorcery are you performing to get so many customers?"

The hall fell silent.

Another worker, named Han Wei, approached.

"We’re not against you because you’re new to the massage profession, Yun Che. The problem is that customers are starting to stop seeking the other workers, and that goes against the professional ethics of the Massage House."

Yun Che looked at the two of them.

"So the problem is that I’m serving customers? As far as I know, the house’s profits have increased because of me."

"Don’t twist my words," Han Wei replied with obvious displeasure.

"You know very well what’s happening. Yesterday, four customers specifically asked for you."

"Today, there were already four before noon. How do you think the other workers should feel?"

Yun Che remained calm.

"If the customers choose whom they want, I can’t force them to choose someone else."

"That’s precisely what bothers us."

Zhao Liang took a step forward. His expression became heavier.

"You showed up here without a reputation, started working like everyone else, and suddenly you know how to identify problems in the meridians."

"You have a technique that nobody knows about, and you even performed exceptionally at the Refining House. You must be some kind of sorcerer to achieve this much success repeatedly."

"Don’t you think there are too many coincidences?"

Some of the disciples began looking at one another. Yun Che immediately realized it. Suspicion was growing.

"There is no coincidence."

"Then explain."

Yun Che breathed slowly before answering.

"During my time at the Refining House, I studied spiritual theory, energy circulation, and principles related to herbs and treatments."

"The massage technique I am developing combines that knowledge with what I have already learned in this house."

Han Wei let out a small humorless laugh.

"An experimental technique?"

"Exactly."

"And you expect us to believe that? My brain still works even though it has been kicked by a door."

"I don’t need you to believe me. After all, I have Mei Liang’s permission."

Yun Che looked at the customers.

"They can decide for themselves."

The answer made Zhao Liang even more irritated.

"You’re too arrogant."

"No. I’m simply taking responsibility for my work."

Yun Che took thirty spirit crystals from his bag and placed them on the table.

"Therefore, I’ll repeat my guarantee."

Everyone looked at the crystals.

"If I promise that the treatment should alleviate a particular problem and fail to achieve the therapeutic goal, I will return the thirty crystals."

The hall fell silent. One of the disciples murmured:

"That’s quite risky, isn’t it? It’s not easy to obtain so many crystals, especially since each session only costs five crystals."

Yun Che calmly replied:

"That’s exactly the point. If my technique doesn’t work, I pay the price."

The tension eased slightly, but the suspicious looks remained.

In the following days, the rumors spread even further. Some said that Yun Che was hiding a secret technique that genuinely worked, while others claimed that his entry into the Refining House had only been possible because of an ancient alchemy recipe.

Meanwhile, the female disciples themselves discussed it among one another.

"I’m entering the Secret Realm in a few days. After training so much, my entire body feels heavy."

"Me too. I’ve been getting massages every day so I can recover more quickly."

"Have you tried Yun Che’s? It’s delightful."

"Yes."

"And?"

The young woman smiled discreetly.

"Now I understand why he’s always busy."

"Was it really that good?"

"He has a strange precision. His fingers seem to find exactly the points where the tension has accumulated."

"After a few minutes, the sensation changes completely."

"I also heard that he can perceive spiritual flow."

"He can. And I want to try it again before entering the Secret Realm."

"Me too."

These conversations reached the ears of the workers and further fueled their dissatisfaction. However, Lin Yue and Chen Ruyue continued to discreetly defend Yun Che.

"I’ve already experienced his technique," Lin Yue said to several disciples. "I’m not saying he’s invincible, but the treatment really works."

Chen Ruyue added:

"I personally saw the knowledge he demonstrated at the Refining House. Therefore, I don’t think it’s right to say that everything is a fraud."

This caused some of the other disciples to lose part of their hesitation. A new customer entered. Then another.

The system began appearing before Yun Che’s eyes once again.

[Spiritual analysis completed.]

[Area of tension identified.]

[Irregular energy flow.]

[Recommended pressure.]

Yun Che adjusted his movements.

The session ended.

[Valid contact.]

[Progress: 16/20.]

When he left the room, he found Mei Liang waiting for him.

"Che."

"Yes, Mei Liang?"

"We need to talk for a little while. Do you have time?"

He realized from her tone that this would not be an ordinary conversation. Mei Liang took him to a more secluded corner.

"Why are you doing this?"
