The Supreme Beauty Fell in Love with Me
Chapter 1530 - 1516: High-Stakes Gamble
Lin Chuan had to hurry to Kunlun Mountain, so he directly flew away from Hongyuan Building.
Feng'er suddenly walked up to Lai Xiaole and said to him, "Brother Lai, can you do me a favor?"
Lai Xiaole chuckled and said, "Just tell me what you need."
Feng'er bit his lip and said, "I'd like to ask you to take Ye Ling with you to Macau."
Lai Xiaole understood Feng'er's thoughts well; staying here or going to Shanghai was dangerous for Ye Ling. Perhaps being farther from the mainland would be relatively safer.
"Alright, I promise you." Lai Xiaole patted Feng'er on the shoulder.
At eleven o'clock the next morning, Macau Pujing Casino welcomed several guests.
These guests were none other than Lai Xiaole, and the other one was naturally Ye Ling. Strangely, Ye Ling had brought Chen Ting along with her.
Lai Xiaole led Ye Ling and Chen Ting into the casino, and immediately a man who looked like a native Chinese approached.
"Sir, would you like to play a few games? I can help you win money," the man said to Lai Xiaole with a smile.
Lai Xiaole glanced at this guy and nodded slightly, "Okay, what's your name?"
The man rejoiced and said, "My name is Mark."
In the casino, there are people who specialize in arranging various things for gamblers, and Mark was such a person.
Under Mark's guidance, Lai Xiaole followed him to a table, where several foreigners were seated.
Lai Xiaole had come to find the descendants of Xuanyuan, so he naturally needed to pose as a tycoon. He said to Mark, "Have the server exchange ten million US Dollars worth of chips for me."
After a while, a lady dressed in a professional skirt walked in from the outside with a tray, on which fifty chips were displayed, each one blue in color.
"Mr. Lai, these are the chips the manager asked me to bring you, fifty in total, each worth one hundred thousand US Dollars." She said respectfully to Lai Xiaole as she stood in front of him.
"Alright, just leave them there. Here's a tip for you." Lai Xiaole took a hundred-dollar bill from his pocket and handed it to the lady.
"Thank you." She put the money into her pocket and quickly left.
"Mr. Lai, aren't you going to count them?" Mark asked Lai Xiaole, with an expression that implied disbelief.
Lai Xiaole replied, "In such a large hotel, if employees do not have the trust of the boss, they can't work here for long. Why should I bother? I bet she wouldn't dare to pocket my chips."
Mark couldn't help but laugh dryly, "Haha, Mr. Lai, you really impress me."
"Alright, Ye Ling, take fifty thousand and go relax outside. If you're tired, just rest. Mark, you're in charge of their safety." Lai Xiaole still felt uneasy about this unfamiliar place. If Mark wasn't with the two women, he feared problems might arise, hence he instructed Mark accordingly.
Mark quickly assured Lai Xiaole, "Don't worry, Mr. Lai, as long as they're under my watch, they won't encounter any trouble."
"Okay, you guys go out, I'll stay here waiting for my opponent to be arranged," Lai Xiaole said, rubbing his hands together with a gambler's expression, which made Ye Ling and Chen Ting start to worry.
However, it was a time when Lai Xiaole was deeply engrossed in the situation, and they felt embarrassed to stop him, so after cautioning him to be careful, they followed Mark outside.
Lai Xiaole sat down at a gambling table.
Very soon, a croupier came over.
When Lai Xiaole saw the croupier, he froze for a moment. Was she familiar?
Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be her. How did she end up here?
No wonder Lai Xiaole found her familiar — she looked a bit like Yan Xin'er, as she was Yan Xin'er's half-sister, Yan Susu.
Lai Xiaole deliberated for a moment and decided not to alert her, instead choosing to observe as he waited to see what was going on.
After entering, Yan Susu timidly smiled before standing at the croupier station, but her legs were still trembling slightly.
Sitting quietly, Lai Xiaole did not speak. He knew there was surveillance here, and exposing anything unusual would certainly trouble Yan Susu.
Judging from Yan Susu's behavior, Lai Xiaole could tell she hadn't been a croupier long, otherwise, she wouldn't have reacted this way.
Then three people came in, each with different skin tones: one black, one white, and the third, like Lai Xiaole, Asian.
"Oh, so our opponent is this guy?" Black Yite eyed Lai Xiaole quickly then spoke to the two accompanying him.
"Don't forget, you and I are opponents too." White Glo gave the black guy no face, quickly sat near the gambling table, and introduced himself, "I'm Glo, and you?"
"Yi." Lai Xiaole kept watching the trio; their expressions were calm, and judging by their fingers, each one possessed dexterous fingers – a trait of someone skilled in gambling.
"Hello, my name is Yite," the black man added, refusing to be outdone, and reported his name.
The yellow-skinned man who hadn't spoken yet said blandly, "I'm Park Ji."
From Park Ji's face, Lai Xiaole discerned him as South Korean.
"Today, I'm going to strip you naked and get you out of here," White Glo threatened the black guy fiercely.
"Hey, you're way too early seeking revenge; I know your gambling skills inside out. Need a showdown?" Black Yite replied boastfully.
It was clear these two had disputes, Lai Xiaole quickly concluded.
At this moment, Park Ji sat down, placing both hands on the table with a solemn expression, seemingly unaffected by the conversation between the black and white men, focused solely on his world. This demeanor made Lai Xiaole dread him most.
In silence, it's impossible to judge someone's mental state, making their sudden actions unpredictable. This scenario left people baffled.
Soon, everyone was settled.
Each placed their chips before them. Clearly, the trio's chips were several times more than Lai Xiaole's.
"Is everyone ready?" Yan Susu's timely voice rang.
"What's going on? Didn't the manager say otherwise? Our opponent has so few chips?" Glo noticed the small pile of chips in front of Lai Xiaole and asked aloud.
"Haha, rest assured, I've only taken out a portion. After all, it's my first-time gambling here; isn't it unwise to expose my entire fortune?" Lai Xiaole explained in response to their questioning looks.
His explanation made Glo excited; a newbie? Soon, your money will be mine.
On the other hand, Black Yite felt a twinge of unease; when he looked at Lai Xiaole, there was an incredible feeling as he sensed danger emanating from him.
After briefly glancing at Lai Xiaole, Park Ji returned his attention to his fingers.
Faced with the trio's various expressions, Lai Xiaole knew his appearance had piqued different interests in them; indeed, these three were skilled individuals, not brought here by Jones without reason.
"Alright, little girl, deal the cards quickly. If you deal me good cards, I'll make sure you're rewarded generously, however you want." Glo made a sleazy offer as he leered at Yan Susu.
Yan Susu appeared slightly panicked but quickly regained composure, "Mr. Glo, you know the rules here, right? If you continue with such inappropriate remarks, I'll have you removed."
Upon hearing Yan Susu's words, Glo's expression softened, a bit of bark without bite, "Alright, I'm joking, don't mind me. Let's deal the cards." However, a hint of malice flickered in his eyes.
Such behavior was clear to Lai Xiaole, Yan Susu represented someone unforgettable to him. Now, faced with the possibility of Glo's abuse, Lai Xiaole felt necessary to intervene for Yan Susu. Thus, Glo's demeanor was on his radar.
"Alright, everyone, check this deck of unopened cards," Yan Susu, seeing Glo ceased bothering her, composed herself, then took a deck of cards from underneath the table, tossing it in the middle.
Lai Xiaole's left side was Glo; his right was Black Yite, and across, South Korean Park Ji.
After everyone glanced at the cards, finding no signs of tampering, they all nodded.
"Place your ante, ten thousand each," Yan Susu instructed.
Hence, four hands tossed a chip onto the table.
