The Supreme Beauty Fell in Love with Me
Chapter 1514 - 1499: Restored to Former Condition
Although that person didn't have the strength of the Sword Control Stage, he could fly using objects. It was all thanks to his superpower. As long as there were metal objects around him, he could soar in the air.
"You're very lucky to still be alive right now, but if I decide to kill you, it seems no one would dare say a word!" the man said with a smile.
Lin Chuan didn't have the strength to speak, but the disdain in his eyes made the man quite unhappy. Until now, no one had dared to look at him like that!
A slender little sword, with its tip pointing at Lin Chuan, kept rotating. As long as the man willed it, Lin Chuan would lose his life. Lin Chuan also sensed the murderous intent from that man targeting him, and his heart was very bitter. Once again, Lin Chuan felt the pain of being at the mercy of someone else, helpless like a lamb to the slaughter.
"Actually, I'm not afraid to tell you now; your unluckiest moment wasn't when you lost. Many people here could defeat you. Even though I'm of average strength among them, those stronger than me would find it very easy to deal with you. But they wouldn't kill you. Unfortunately for you, I've always wanted to kill you." His eyes flashed with a cold light. He knew if he didn't act now, there wouldn't be another chance, no matter who came next.
The man looked at the red glow emanating from Lin Chuan's body, full of greed, not knowing that greed can silently lead someone to their death!
The speed of the rotating blade increased continuously. Lin Chuan had no doubt that if the sword stabbed into him, his gut would burst open. His heart wasn't filled with despair or sadness. Like his body, he felt nothing. Lin Chuan wanted to lament or recall his beautiful past, but he found that the red True Qi shrouded his mind, preventing him from feeling anything.
Lin Chuan closed his eyes. He had no interest in watching himself die.
"Hm?" Lin Chuan wondered. Hadn't he had his eyes closed for at least thirty or forty seconds? Why hadn't the attack landed on him yet?
Slowly, he opened his eyes and saw familiar backs. It was the Dark Soldiers; his brothers had come to rescue him!
Xiao Han stood in front of Lin Chuan, holding an AK, firing constantly at that man. Metal ordinarily wouldn't affect that man, but there's always an exception.
The man could withstand the force of a single bullet, but dozens of bullets in a row and two people charging him aggressively left him flustered. No matter how strong he was, everyone has a weakness, and Lin Chuan's companions had deftly seized upon it.
"Captain, you're so stingy, enjoying such a great thing alone? See, this is what happens!" Xiao Han quipped as Lin Chuan opened his eyes. Although he was teasing, he was truly worried in his heart.
Lin Chuan felt his strength gradually returning—not physically but mentally. Slowly, he was less lethargic, and his spiritual power grew more vigorous. If he weren't still lying on the ground, one might think Lin Chuan hadn't been injured!
"How are you?" Xiao Han asked again despite seeing the results, finding no trouble in repeating the question.
"I'm alright!" Lin Chuan found that the hand he couldn't control now seemed to be more responsive, just lacking feeling.
With Xiao Han's help, Lin Chuan stood up and looked at the battle not far away. He wondered why they had arrived as soon as he got there!
Lin Chuan said nothing but looked at Xiao Han with confusion. Xiao Han smiled and said, "Captain, if I tell you, don't get mad. It'd be bad if you got upset!"
Seeing Lin Chuan nod, Xiao Han finally dared to continue. "We actually received a call from a mysterious person two days ago, saying you were in danger in Luoshan. So we geared up, brought all our equipment, and rushed here. Just as we arrived, we saw you flying through the air! I have to say, boss, you even look cool when you're kicked through the air!" At the end, Xiao Han didn't forget to flatter Lin Chuan, confident that he'd get praised once this was over.
How could Lin Chuan not know? His buddies cared about him. Initially, Lin Chuan didn't plan for them to get involved because the enemy was overwhelmingly powerful. He couldn't guarantee their safety, especially since he nearly lost his own life just now.
Seeing Lin Chuan didn't blame them, Xiao Han felt relieved and turned his attention back to the fight.
Song Hui and Hema's strength was similar to that of the man, though they hadn't trained. Since they couldn't use metal objects, they resorted to punching him directly. Everyone has a weakness; Lin Chuan always believed that. Though the man was strong, it was due to his formidable abilities, not raw power. Lin Chuan's earlier predicament was more a result of carelessness. Had Lin Chuan been more cautious, the situation wouldn't have arisen.
The three of them were evenly matched as the man's close combat skills were quite lacking; he'd already been hit several times.
"What do you think, boss? Aren't they strong too? If you had called us earlier, it wouldn't have been so troublesome, right?" Xiao Han's hands were itching. After boasting a bit to Lin Chuan, he jumped into the fray.
Lin Chuan had many thoughts. Before, taking out three people would have been easy. Now, seeing the man who nearly killed him struggle against the trio made Lin Chuan question if his power had weakened. Impossible!
Lin Chuan knew those men were victims too; the real villains were the higher-ups. Although Lin Chuan sought revenge, he didn't want to indiscriminately kill innocents. But if anyone, including that man, dared to target him, then it would be a different story!
Lin Chuan picked up a rock, its edges sharp. If used properly, it would be just as deadly as a bullet! Especially against an opponent who could control metal; this rock might just be what ends him.
Lin Chuan used his full strength to hurl the rock at the man. It arced beautifully through the air, with a piercing sound. It would be strange if the man didn't notice it!
The man glanced at Lin Chuan on the ground, then at the stone, and smirked as if mocking Lin Chuan for overestimating himself. He flickered slightly and dodged the rock easily.
"Good opportunity!" Hema and the others were overjoyed since Lin Chuan's small distraction gave them more time to attack the man!
Without his advantage, the man could still hold on. Lin Chuan's earlier attack, which he thought would allow the trio to win, now seemed naive.
If one strike failed, Lin Chuan wouldn't give up. The man didn't have powerful weapons, but he did have a small iron sword protecting him. Hema and the others didn't dare rush in blindly. The earlier attack had taught them a lesson, especially when they saw the wounds on their bodies. They weren't like Lin Chuan; even a few small injuries disrupted their attack strategy. The man's disadvantage was gradually being reversed.
Lin Chuan suddenly stood up, surrounded by True Qi, and charged at the man.
"Captain, what are you doing!" Hema and the others were shocked. Lin Chuan was still injured and bleeding, yet he stood to fight! The fact that he could even stand impressed them, given how severe his injuries were!
Looking at Lin Chuan now, he was covered in red—not True Qi, but blood, some his, some from others.
Lacerations tore across his body, even exposing bone in some places. Despite the severity, Lin Chuan's speed wasn't hindered, matching his prime state. His wounds seemed inconsequential. The more he displayed such resilience, the more concerned the others grew. A thought dawned in their minds. If Lin Chuan knew, he would surely scold them harshly, because they were thinking of the words "final flare"—as if Lin Chuan was close to death!
If Lin Chuan made a move, it had to be decisive. Either way, Hema and the others wanted to help, but Lin Chuan's gaze stopped them, conveying one message: trust me!
Xiao Han smiled wryly, while Hema and Song Hui wore uncertain expressions. They had come to aid Lin Chuan, yet he exuded such confidence, it seemed their assistance was unnecessary.
The man's evasive maneuvers and unconscious gestures soon became apparent to others. Even he likely hadn't anticipated such circumstances.
Lin Chuan's moves combined reality and illusion, intending to distract the man, allowing him to create an opportunity to end the fight decisively.
