The Super Bodyguard of the Beautiful CEO
Chapter 1649 - 1662: In the Presidential Suite
Chapter 1649: Chapter 1662: In the Presidential Suite
Sophie stared wide-eyed in shock. The ship had been sailing for so long that even at a slow pace, it must be dozens of nautical miles from the shore, and given the current severe weather, jumping off the ship would be tantamount to suicide.
"Or else? There are eighteen assassins on this ship; aside from Ding Li, I’ve killed all the others, and their bodies are piled up in the cockpit. If the police find out, how are we supposed to explain?"
Lin Mu took a deep breath, looked at Sophie whose face had turned pale, and suddenly chuckled, "What, are you scared?"
"No, it’s not that, I just... Ah!"
Before she finished speaking, Lin Mu had grabbed her small hand and with a leap, dove into the sea.
The icy seawater surged in, catching Sophie off guard and causing her to cough repeatedly, her expression panicked as she flailed about, struck underwater by a wave rolling toward her.
There’s no way, swimming in a pool and in the ocean are two completely different experiences. Especially when submerged, the darkness that extends to the horizon alone inflicts intense psychological pressure.
The female president had been tormented all night, already mentally drained and physically exhausted. Now struck by the waves, she closed her eyes and immediately fainted.
"Come on, this is what you call being able to swim? What a joke!"
Lin Mu pursed his lips, held onto her waist, kicked his legs, and dove deeper. The waves rolled, the sky’s bright moon seemed to flicker twice, and a faint silvery glow coalesced into a beam, descending into the sea.
Sophie dreamt; in her dream were pavilions and small bridges, large patches of lotus flowers, babbling streams flowing under wooden bridges, producing a crisp sound resembling a mountain spring. Sunlight spilled down from the sky, warm and cozy, and an inexplicable wind brought waves of captivating fragrance. It was beautiful, like a paradise.
She took a deep breath, utterly intoxicated, when suddenly, the cold sound of a zither, resonating with the feeling of gold and iron horses, reached her.
The scene changed. Large, large snowflakes fell swirling down, and in the blink of an eye, a world turned into a bleak white. In the courtyard lay nearly a hundred corpses scattered messily, the air saturated with the pungent smell of blood.
A sigh echoed, the zither’s sound abruptly ceased as the bamboo curtains of a pavilion were lifted, and an astonishingly beautiful woman in white floated out. Upon seeing her, an overwhelming hatred surged in Sophie’s heart, prompting her to move forward...
Darkness descended, and all the scenes vanished. When the image reappeared, she only realized her hands were covered in blood, Lin Mu was clutching his chest with a bitter smile, pale as he collapsed to the ground, and the stunning woman in white lay peacefully with her eyes closed in the distance...
"No!" Her heart seemed pierced by a knife, with endless pain rushing like a tide.
Sophie opened her eyes, suddenly sat up, and after gasping for breath, finally came back to her senses.
"Phew, scared me to death—it was just a dream..." She exhaled deeply, wiped the sweat from her brow, rubbed her eyes, and glanced around. The room wasn’t large but was lavishly decorated, resembling a presidential suite in a hotel, "How did I end up here?"
Having just awoken, the female president was still a bit dazed; however, as she tried to recall what had happened earlier, a loud gulp suddenly sounded from beside her.
Sophie gave a startled look and quickly turned her head to see Lin Mu, mouth agape and eyes fixed.
Before Sophie could yelp, Lin Mu turned around rapidly and explained at lightning speed.
"I didn’t do anything. Your clothes were removed by the attendant; I just took them to the bathroom to wash."
Once bitten, twice shy; with Ling Xiaoqiao’s previous experience, he had grown considerably wiser.
"Heh, even if you sprouted hairs you’d still be a monkey; if I wanted to fool you, I’d need the intelligence first!"
Lin Mu blinked sincerely.
"Stop trying to be cheeky!"
Sophie shot Lin Mu a look, feeling indignant. Somehow, she couldn’t help but ask, "Did you see anything earlier?"
Clearly, this question was redundant and rather like covering one’s ears to steal a bell.
With Lin Mu’s high-caliber sniper’s eyes, at such close range, for such an extended period, not only had he seen her completely, even the color, shape, and size were clear to him.
However, speaking this out loud would be downright foolish.
Lin Mu would never fall for that; hearing the question, his face froze, and he replied dazed, "See what?"
"Come on, you tell me!"
"No, when I saw you, you were already wrapped up in the duvet..."
"Fake!" Sophie interrupted, pouting, "Seeing is seeing; is it fun to lie? Anyway," she paused with a seductive smile, "I’m not one to be unreasonable. Given the circumstances, one must be flexible. Even if you changed my clothes yourself or happened to see something, it was unintentional. Why would I blame you?"
"Really, you won’t blame me?"
"Really!"
Lin Mu cautiously observed the female president’s face for a moment before finally relaxing, wiping sweat from his forehead, "That’s good. Actually, it was me who changed your clothes. The seawater washed away my wallet and you had no cash or ID on you, so the hotel wouldn’t let us stay. I had no choice but to sneak us into the presidential suite when it got dark... Um, why are you grabbing the ashtray? Wait, let’s talk this out, don’t throw things... Ouch..."
Speaking the truth to a prideful woman, especially a beautiful one, is surely courting death! Faced with Sophie who had gone berserk, oblivious to the wardrobe malfunction, determined to give him a sound thrashing on the spot, Lin Mu’s face turned ashen as he darted away, head down in duck...
In Shencheng City, it’s a coastal city with an environment much superior to Wancheng, a hundred kilometers away. A taxi drove down the wide avenue with two women inside, the younger and prettier one named Roland, while the older woman was her superior—specifically, her agent.
Today the sunshine was brilliant, the azure sky devoid of clouds, yet Roland was in an awful mood. Never in her dreams did she think that an ordinary commercial performance would utterly disrupt her serene and happy life.
