Chapter 1561: Chapter 1576: The Female CEO Trespasses into a Private Residence

"Let go of me."

Lei Xiaojiao glared at Lin Mu, panting hard. Her hands were pinned to the ground, her two long legs forced wide apart. That humiliating posture instantly reminded her of a certain kind of ordeal that, for a woman, was full of shame and terror.

"Dream on! I kindly saved you, and you shot me. If I don’t teach you a lesson, you really think I’m easy to push around, huh?"

Rare chance he tried to be a decent guy, only to get shot to hell for it; to recover from that, it’d take at least ten days or more. Lin Mu was pissed. He raised his hand, ready to give this ungrateful woman two big slaps, but halfway down he suddenly felt that might not be appropriate. In a rush he changed direction and—crack!—his palm landed on Lei Xiaojiao’s body.

In an instant, snowy flesh trembled, rippling with a seductive wave. Bright red finger marks quickly surfaced on that white skin.

Lei Xiaojiao froze for a second, then her pretty face flushed red, so red it looked like it might bleed.

"You beast, I’m going to kill you..."

"Huh?" Lin Mu’s sword-like brows lifted. He’d originally thought this accidental move was way too shameless and sleazy, but with Lei Xiaojiao suddenly cursing him out, his anger flared again. He reached out, both hands swinging, and smacked her left and right with loud pops.

The night was hazy; at some point the full moon had slipped behind dark clouds.

Lin Mu was happily laying into her, feeling ridiculously pleased with himself, while Lei Xiaojiao, struggling until she was drenched in fragrant sweat, finally couldn’t hold it in and started sobbing. Humiliation—this was beyond humiliating. At the station she was known as the queen of badasses, and now she was being abused by a criminal using this filthy, degrading method. Even with Lei Xiaojiao’s iron will, her psyche cracked. She opened her small mouth, about to bite through her tongue and kill herself.

"Shit!" Lin Mu hadn’t expected her to be this fierce. Panicking, he didn’t have time to think and jammed his fingers into Lei Xiaojiao’s mouth.

"Mmph!" Lei Xiaojiao’s eyes bulged; she almost gagged from the disgust. But after that brief stunned moment, she realized what was happening. Her cheeks puffed and she bit down hard.

Hmph! Even if I get beaten to death, I’m taking two of your fingers with me.

"Hiss!" Lin Mu sucked in a breath of cold air, his face scrunching up like a dried persimmon.

Again with this routine! Are all the women in the world secretly part dog or something?

"Let go!"

"Mmph!"

"Are you nuts? Can’t you see I’m actually trying to help you..."

"Mmph mph mph!"

Afraid of hurting Lei Xiaojiao, Lin Mu didn’t dare use real force. Lei Xiaojiao, full of bitter hatred, couldn’t hear any explanations at all. The two of them glared at each other, locked in a stalemate. Just then, the sound of a bolt being racked—"ka-chak"—suddenly came from the left. At some point Gu Niang had woken up; she’d picked up the pistol the bearded guy dropped, and was aiming it at them.

"Watch out!"

Lin Mu’s expression shifted, and without thinking he moved to shield Lei Xiaojiao with his body.

A gunshot rang out—"bang"—and Lin Mu’s body shuddered violently. A few drops of blood burst through his shoulder blade and splashed onto Lei Xiaojiao’s face.

The warm blood slid down her fragrant cheeks. Lei Xiaojiao was stunned, frozen in place; her small mouth loosened on its own.

"Ka-chak!" Gu Niang pulled the trigger again, but the gun was already empty. Just then, police shouts came from far away. Her face changed; she shot Lin Mu a hateful glare, then turned and disappeared into the reeds.

"What are you staring at? If it weren’t for you dragging me down, would I have gotten shot?"

"You..." Lei Xiaojiao’s mind was blank. She opened and closed her little mouth, not knowing what to say.

"You what? Hurry up and button your clothes."

Lin Mu grabbed the leather bag and the case, ran forward a couple of steps, then seemed to think of something. He turned back, whistled, and said wickedly, "Hey, gorgeous, remember to wear a bra. Charging in with nothing underneath all the time, your boobs are gonna sag."

Lei Xiaojiao’s face flushed red. She quickly fastened her buttons, but when she looked up again, Lin Mu had already slipped into the reeds and vanished.

"Bastard, I will never let you go..."

Dawn was already turning the sky pale. After twisting and turning through side streets, Lin Mu finally made it back to the Lin Family Mansion. He hid the leather bag and the case, then sat down in front of the mirror, scowling. The bullet was wedged in the bone seam under his back shoulder blade; getting it out was no easy job. After a long struggle, with blood all over the floor, Lin Mu finally finished treating the wound. Once he’d cleaned up, exhaustion hit and he collapsed onto the bed.

He slept like the dead, no idea how much time had passed, until his phone rang over and over. Lin Mu hung up several times, then finally, sick of being harassed, tossed the phone straight into the fish tank. Unfortunately, he hadn’t enjoyed his peace for long before he felt something pointy jabbing hard into his butt. Once, twice, three times, each jab harder than the last.

"Damn it, what demon is this!"

When that pointy thing accidentally poked his asshole, Lin Mu’s sleep vanished instantly. He shot up off the bed—and saw Sophie, furious, her pretty face faintly flushed.

"You?" Lin Mu clutched his butt, looking horrified. "You—what are you trying to do?"

"Hey, what’s with that expression?" Sophie spat lightly, snapping, "Do you know what time it is? And you’re still sleeping."

"Uh, and what’s the inevitable connection between those two?"

Lin Mu rubbed his eyes and raised a question that seriously puzzled him. "By the way, how did you get in here?"

"Of course I have a key to the Lin Family Mansion. Don’t forget who said he was going to marry me and bring me here? And he handed me a whole set of keys. So of course I came in by openly unlocking the door, idiot!"

"Come on, this is breaking into a private residence! Hmph, I’m going to court to sue you!" Lin Mu was instantly depressed.

"Sue your big stupid head!"

Sophie shot him a look and urged, "Robert’s delegation will arrive right at ten. Get up, get dressed, come back to the company with me and attend the signing ceremony."

Lin Mu’s eyelids drooped. "I’m not the one signing anything, so what am I going for? Just wastes my sleep time."

"You really aren’t going?"

"Not going!" Lin Mu slammed his head back into the pillow and muttered, "You’d have to kill me to make me go."

"You bastard... get up."

Seeing Lin Mu acting all shameless, Sophie was so angry she could barely breathe. This was too much, way too much. The almighty CEO of Su’s Great Enterprise, adored by thousands, was willing to let bygones be bygones and personally come over, and instead of being grateful enough to prostrate himself in tears, he actually put on airs. Damn! This was beyond insulting. Sophie’s face hardened; she reached out and viciously twisted Lin Mu’s ear.

"What are you doing, trying to murder your own husband?"

"Hmph! Nothing good ever comes out of your mouth. Are you getting up or not? I’m really going to put some strength into this!"

"Not getting up. A true man—riches can’t corrupt him, power can’t bend him..." Lin Mu wore a face of righteous devotion, looking like a revolutionary martyr walking proudly to his death.
