Chapter 1572: A Little Panicked
Chapter 1572: A Little Panicked
Emmett Neal and the others were momentarily surprised.
They understood Braydon Neal’s decision: he was not planning to immediately eliminate the city lord.
Instead, he allowed the baleful aura to consume him.
They could stay here.
Braydon spoke up.
Ryder Galante promptly stepped forward and bowed. “Please, follow me, esteemed guests. I will arrange rooms for you.”
“I’m afraid we’ll need Mr. Galante to prepare more rooms,” Emmett added, indicating that more Neal family members were expected, along with others from the Foreman and Siegel families residing in Hoizen.
Ryder smiled. “There are three thousand guest rooms in this establishment. You can have your family come over. Ulleris Hotel is under the Young Lord’s protection, so I will follow his orders.”
Ryder, a wandering cultivator, had chosen to align with the Neal family and follow Braydon’s lead, as he had stated.
Members of the Foreman and Siegel families were also welcomed.
Among them was a familiar face: Eva Foreman.
This ruthless woman had nearly killed Braydon in the past.
She now held the hand of a delicate little girl, who appeared to be about five or six years old.
The child had inherited her mother’s beauty, promising to grow into a stunning woman who might captivate hearts and stir up trouble.
“Mama, I’m hungry,” the innocent girl said.
Braydon, on the top floor of Ulleris Hotel, froze with his teacup halfway to his lips.
He was utterly bewildered!
Whose child could this little girl be?
Eva was married?
Emmett and the other elders approached Eva with affection, bending down to pick up the little girl.
“Come, let me hold you!” they said warmly.
“Eva greets the ancestors,” Eva replied with a slight bow.
Emmett spoke kindly, “No need to be so formal. Braydon is right here. Let Brie meet him!”
“No need!” Eva’s expression turned cold.
As Braydon listened, he grew increasingly alarmed.
What did this mean?
Using his spiritual power to discreetly observe, Braydon noticed the striking resemblance between the little girl and his daughter, Judith Neal. While she resembled Judith, there was also a hint of resemblance to Braydon himself.
Braydon stood abruptly, pacing the room anxiously.
At this moment, the usually composed Braydon was visibly flustered.
Whose daughter was Eva’s?
In the past, Eva and Braydon had an encounter, though it had been a mistake.
Eva had tricked Braydon to survive, nearly killing him in the process.
Could Eva have gotten pregnant from that one encounter?
Braydon’s expression darkened with uncertainty.
This situation was becoming increasingly complicated.
He could only hope that the girl outside had no relation to him.
If they were indeed connected, how would Braydon face Heather Sage?
After all, his eldest son, Trevon Neal, was currently in the Spirit Sea.
If Trevon were to find out about this, it would surely cause a stir!
Trevon had grown up, and now he had his mother to back him up.
Braydon felt a headache coming on.
His heart had never been so chaotic in his life.
Even Braydon had times when he felt helpless.
What should he do? Should he kill Eva to silence her? And what about that little Brie?
If she was his daughter… even a fierce tiger wouldn’t eat its own cubs!
Braydon wouldn’t do such a thing.
As he was lost in his thoughts, Skylar Neal lay in excruciating pain on the bed.
He hoarsely called out, “Brother!”
“Don’t make a fuss, let me have some quiet,” Braydon replied nonchalantly.
Skylar was puzzled.
This was really his brother!
His younger brother was about to die, yet Braydon seemed unconcerned.
Meanwhile, outside the door, Emmett arrived with the little girl in his arms.
“Not here,” Braydon muttered quietly.
Emmett was taken aback.
This stubborn old fellow pushed the door open and entered with the little girl, Brie Neal, in his arms.
Her cute, delicate face appeared timid as she glanced shyly at Braydon.
“This is Brie, Eva’s child,” Emmett said happily. “Come and hold her!”
“Why should I hold her child?” Braydon’s expression darkened.
“There are some things I can’t explain to you,” Emmett said gently. “Just look at how much Brie resembles you!”
The little girl’s big eyes revealed her timidity.
She seemed very young.
Braydon couldn’t help but calculate in his mind.
It had been over ten years since Eva had tricked him last time.
Even if she had a child, that child would be in their teens by now, right?
But the age of this child didn’t match that timeline.
Little did they know, children from bloodline families took much longer to reach adulthood than ordinary people.
Now that things had come to this, it was clear he couldn’t hide anymore.
“Whose child is this?” Braydon probed.
“Eva’s,” Emmett answered straightforwardly.
However, Braydon wanted to know who the little girl’s father was.
Everyone knew the child’s mother was Eva.
Emmett felt it was better to let Eva answer that question.
“I don’t have a father,” Brie said softly. “Mama said he died many years ago.”
Braydon couldn’t bear to see her pitiful appearance.
In the end, he took the little girl from Emmett’s arms and hugged her.
The feeling of a blood connection couldn’t be faked.
Coincidentally, at that moment, a cold and stern youth in white appeared outside Ulleris Hotel.
It was Trevon!
Instead of staying in the Neal family’s place, he had followed Kohen Neal and the others to the Land of Return and Hoizen.
Trevon entered the city and headed straight for Ulleris Hotel.
He could sense his father was here.
“Dad!” Trevon went straight to the door.
When he saw Skylar on the bed, he couldn’t help but ask, “What’s wrong with Uncle Skylar?”
“Don’t worry, something happened to his body. Be careful when you enter the Land of Return,” Braydon said, seeing that Trevon had come and respecting his choice, not forcing his son to go back.
Trevon was not naive.
He looked at the little girl in her father’s arms and asked suspiciously, “Dad, who is she?”
“The child of an old friend,” Braydon replied, handing the little girl to Emmett without elaborating further.
The situation was too complex to explain in just a few words.
However, Trevon’s eyes were still filled with suspicion.
He turned to Emmett and asked, “Ancestor, may I hold her?”
“Of course,” Emmett replied, oblivious to Trevon’s probing nature.
Although Trevon was young, he possessed the cunning of a fox.
Despite his youth, he had inherited his father’s martial talents and possessed a mind sharp as a demon’s.
If he had doubts, Trevon would certainly seek to confirm them.
Braydon stood by the window with his hands behind his back, stealing a glance at his eldest son.
Both father and son were lost in their own thoughts.
Trevon picked up Brie and gently patted her back with his left hand.
Suddenly, swoosh!
Six pairs of snow-white wings emerged from Brie’s back—the unmistakable symbol of the Foreman family.
Born with twelve wings, she was extraordinary.
In response, ten pairs of snow-white wings unfurled from Trevon’s back.
Born with sixteen wings, as Trevon grew older and his cultivation advanced, his bloodline power blossomed.
It was no surprise that he now possessed twenty wings.
“Oh?” Brie’s eyes lit up. “Big Brother, you have wings too?”
“Of course. Where are your dual-pupils?” Trevon responded in a brotherly manner.
