Chapter 394: Chapter 391: With this punch, you might die

After informing everyone of the news, the Elders began to discuss a counter-attack strategy.

The Root Cutting Sect was currently engaged with the thieves from the Thief God Hall outside the city. Naturally, the academy wouldn’t let such a perfect opportunity slip by. At Xuchang’s suggestion, the Elders agreed they should charge out and coordinate a pincer attack with the reinforcements.

But Feng Hao disagreed. "Now isn’t the time for an all-out assault."

"Oh? And why is that?" Xuchang asked, frowning.

"First, given the Root Cutting Sect’s current strength, the branch of the Thief God Hall can’t handle them alone. There’s another very important point: Dean Sun and Miao Feng are still their captives," Feng Hao analyzed, his voice low and thoughtful.

Upon hearing this, everyone frowned. They had no choice but to agree; the capture of Sun Yaowen and Miao Feng was indeed a huge problem.

"Then what should we do now? We can’t just sit here and wait to die, can we?" Bai Yin, standing beside Elder Yun, asked with her brow furrowed.

Feng Hao rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Our top priority right now is to rescue Dean Sun and Miao Feng. Fortunately, the Root Cutting Sect’s attention is divided at the moment, which gives us a perfect opportunity."

Xuchang considered this. "So you’re suggesting we first send a team to rescue Dean Sun?"

"Exactly," Feng Hao said with a nod and a smile. "But there’s no need for you Elders to act personally. We just need to organize some elite students."

"How could that possibly work?" Xuchang exclaimed. "The Evil Cult Mages are incredibly strong. Isn’t sending students just sending them to their deaths?"

"No, no, no." Feng Hao shook his head with a faint smile. "My idea is to let the students handle the rescue. You Elders just need to be responsible for tying up their top fighters and delaying them for as long as possible. There’s no need to fight them head-on."

Hearing this, Xuchang and the others quickly understood. They nodded to themselves. ’This plan is indeed feasible, but it’s still quite risky.’

"Risky?" Feng Hao’s gaze was mocking. "And staying in the academy isn’t risky?"

"Er..." Xuchang was speechless. He could only shake his head and let out a weary sigh.

Just as Feng Hao said, given the current situation in Five States City, there was no point debating what was risky and what wasn’t. Danger was everywhere.

"I agree with Feng Hao’s plan," Bai Yin said, taking a step forward. "We students can do our part for the academy, too."

Faced with Bai Yin’s determined gaze, Xuchang could only nod in resignation. "All right, then. I’ll go contact the major families and martial arts dojos in the city. Elder Yun and the other instructors, please select some elite students as quickly as possible—preferably those who have reached the fifth tier."

"Rest assured, Dean Xu. I know what to do," Elder Yun replied with a solemn nod.

With that, Xuchang wasted no more time. He led the other Elders from the academy to organize the various masters within the city.

Elder Yun, meanwhile, stayed behind to carefully guide the instructors in selecting elite students, organizing them into special operation squads based on their different cultivation paths.

Bai Yin and Feng Hao naturally became members of a special operations squad. Of course, Xie Xiaoyu and Yao Girl were no exception.

As for Feng Hao, he had already chosen his teammates. To his surprise, however, Elder Yun had inexplicably assigned Bai Yin to their squad, which was rather intriguing.

And so, after a round of selections, eleven squads were formed. Each squad had about seven or eight members, all of whom were top-ranking elite students from the Crystal Steles of their respective disciplines.

Feng Hao’s team was straightforward; it was full of old acquaintances. It went without saying that the sisters, Xiyue Frost and Xi Yueyao, would be with him.

Besides them, there was also Bai Yin, Man Tiaotiao, and Yun Jiansong, making for a total of six people.

As for Zhang Meng and his two cronies, they had struck out on their own, gathered a group of followers, and formed their own squad.

Dongfang Qi and Nanyuan Bo had also organized their own teams; Xie Kuangfeng, of course, was no exception.

"Boss, your team is lacking in reconnaissance. With my cousin here, that shouldn’t be a problem," Li Mufeng suggested.

Feng Hao glanced at his teammates. ’He has a point,’ he thought. He nodded in agreement. "All right. Brother Haoyang’s reconnaissance skills are definitely top-notch."

"But of course. Our family specializes in this line of work," Li Mufeng said with a smug grin.

Beside him, Li Haoyang shot his cousin a look. "You brat," he said, exasperated. "Have you completely forgotten how to be modest?"

"Can’t be helped. After hanging around the boss for so long, it’s impossible to stay low-key," Li Mufeng joked.

"All right, all right, cut the chatter and get going with Fatty’s group," Feng Hao said, waving his hand dismissively.

Hearing this, Li Mufeng chuckled and quickly returned to his own squad. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

After sending the trio on their way, Feng Hao turned his gaze to Li Haoyang. "Brother, the team’s reconnaissance and ranged fire support are in your hands."

Li Haoyang replied humbly, "I can handle reconnaissance. As for ranged fire support, Bai Yin alone is more than enough."

"Don’t be so modest, Senior. I’ve heard about your archery skills," Bai Yin said with a light, knowing laugh.

"Not at all. Compared to you, Junior Bai Yin, my damage output is nothing to write home about."

Seeing the two of them trade compliments back and forth, Feng Hao felt a bit exasperated. He stepped forward to interrupt them. "Ahem. The other squads have already set out. We shouldn’t waste any more time."

Bai Yin and Li Haoyang both looked a little embarrassed. They shared a laugh and stepped aside.

Just as the team was ready to depart, Man Tiaotiao suddenly hopped forward and declared, "Since we’re a team now, we have to pick a captain, right?"

"Is that even a question? Who else would it be but Brother Feng?" Yun Jiansong said with a light smirk.

At his words, everyone exchanged a smile, tacitly accepting Feng Hao as their captain.

But just then, Yao Girl, who was holding Xiaohai, immediately rushed forward. "I’ll do it! I’ll do it!" she said excitedly. "This young lady loves being the captain!"

Feng Hao couldn’t help but laugh. "Fine, fine. Same as always: you’re the captain, and I’m in command."

"Hee hee, you know me best," Xi Yueyao said, satisfied.

Shaking his head, not knowing whether to laugh or cry, Feng Hao turned to the others. "Well then, let’s move out. Our target is the enemy camp north of the city."

With that, to the sound of Yao Girl’s boisterous laughter, the group of seven set off on the road heading north of the city.

Meanwhile, the other squads had also advanced toward their respective targets. Xuchang and the Elders, for their part, had organized a large force of experts to provoke the various Root Cutting Sect encampments.

Because the Root Cutting Sect was now being attacked from the rear, the city finally had a chance to breathe. If nothing else, the constant sound of cannon fire that had lasted all through the previous night had finally fallen silent.

"Hey, how did you get that message out?" Inside the carriage, Man Tiaotiao stared at Feng Hao, her eyes filled with curiosity.

Feng Hao retorted, "You wouldn’t understand even if I told you. With your intelligence, you’re only good for punching things."

"What did you just say?" Man Tiaotiao snapped. "Are you looking for a fight? Let me tell you something, this young lady is now wielding the Divine Soul Gauntlets, and I’ve already mastered Wing Chun! One punch from me, and you might actually die!"

Feng Hao whipped his head around, staring at Man Tiaotiao in stunned disbelief. "What did you say? You’ve mastered Wing Chun?"
