The Soldier King Becomes a Useless Little Girl
Chapter 1498 - 1492: The Skelton Soldiers’ Lament
Chapter 1498: Chapter 1492: The Skelton Soldiers’ Lament
This old story from years past isn’t known to many, but Tu Su’s House’s ancestor once fought alongside the previous Emperor to seize the realm, so he knew clearly where the Fuzhou Army had sacrificed themselves and fallen in battle.
The Skull Army in front of them should be those very Fuzhou Army soldiers.
"If that’s true, then we’re in trouble. These men were Death Soldiers. When they were alive, each and every one of them faced death without fear. Now that they’ve become skeletons, they’re only going to be more troublesome."
Tu Suxuan broke out in a cold sweat.
"Big Brother, don’t panic yet. How about I give it a try?"
Xin Lin finished speaking, her gaze sweeping over, looking at those Skull Soldiers.
"Honored Soldiers, we are not bad people. We are Fuzhou people, here to borrow the Spiritual Wisdom Grass for a time. If we have disturbed you, we beg your pardon."
Xin Lin said this and cupped her hands in salute.
But before Xin Lin could finish, several Skull Soldiers swung their blades and hacked toward them.
Steel clashed. Tu Suxuan snatched the weapon from one Skull Soldier’s hand, his blade flashing as he pushed forward, forcing several Skull Soldiers back.
"Third Sister, it’s useless. These Skull Soldiers are all blockheads. Apart from the deceased previous Emperor, they won’t obey anyone’s orders."
Tu Suxuan spoke, and several more blade-shadows flashed in front of him.
The deceased previous Emperor.
Xin Lin’s heart stirred.
"Fuzhou Soldiers, hear my command!"
Xin Lin raised her arm and suddenly a Command Token appeared in her hand.
The Command Token that Prince Yuan had gifted Xin Lin was now held in her grip.
The ancient-looking Command Token didn’t seem eye-catching at all.
Its surface was mottled with age. Prince Yuan had said before that this Command Token was Fuzhou’s command seal—seeing the Token was like seeing the Fuzhou Emperor in person.
If these Skull Soldiers really were the Fuzhou Army, then once the Token appeared, it would be enough to cow them.
The Skull Soldiers heard Xin Lin’s shout, but they remained unmoved.
Yet when they saw that Token—
Crack... crack...
The Skull Soldiers’ heads shifted as they turned to look at the Token.
The green light in their eye sockets flared brighter.
They moved their feet, walking toward Xin Lin.
"Third Sister! Run!"
Tu Suxuan cried out in alarm, his face drained of color.
"Stand down."
Xin Lin shouted.
But those Skull Soldiers acted as if they hadn’t heard, continuing to advance.
"Big Brother, when the Fuzhou Emperor left back then, did he give any orders?"
Seeing the Skull Soldiers pressing in step by step, Xin Lin also felt a jolt of alarm.
Her eyes turned, and she looked to Tu Suxuan.
"When the Fuzhou Emperor left, he was deeply grateful to these loyal soldiers who covered his retreat. He... he promised them he would definitely return, working from inside and out to wipe out the external enemies. But not long after the previous Emperor went out, he ran into an ambush. Though he was rescued by other allied forces, he was gravely wounded. On his sickbed, he passed the throne to the Crown Prince of the time, telling him he must rescue these soldiers. Yet by the time the Crown Prince arrived, the soldiers had all been killed. This matter became a wish the previous Emperor never fulfilled even to his dying breath. Third Sister, enough talk—you need to run!"
Tu Suxuan strained to recall everything.
"All soldiers, hear the command. We... are the Fuzhou Emperor. We promised you that we would bring you out. We have returned."
After listening, Xin Lin changed her voice. Holding the Token high, she barked an order toward those Skull Soldiers.
That single word "We" made the Skull Soldiers’ bony bodies tremble all at once.
Tu Suxuan nearly died of anxiety. What on earth was Third Sister doing? At a time like this, she still had the leisure to say all that—just run already!
A gurgling sound rose from the Skull Soldiers’ throats.
That gurgling, from weak to strong, flowed together into a chorus—it actually became a wave of sobbing.
