The Sea Queen of 1985
Chapter 497: Mental Support
Chapter 497: Chapter 497: Mental Support
Hearing this, Yang Jianguo was stunned for a moment. After weighing the pros and cons, he gritted his teeth. "We can’t hide this from Second Uncle! If we keep this from him and something happens to those two children, he’ll blame himself to the point of suicide!"
"The only reason Second Uncle can keep going now, why he’s so full of energy every day, burying himself in work and enduring all sorts of hardships, is because these children are what’s holding him up."
Han Xiaorui thought for a moment and nodded. "Alright, you should be the one to tell Second Uncle. After all, given what happened between Yang Jianming and me, it might be awkward for Uncle Yang."
"If Uncle Yang wants to go to the United States to bring the two children back, Ye Feng and I will arrange for people there to provide the necessary help."
Yang Jianguo nodded. "Thank you both so much!"
Han Xiaorui and Ye Feng’s decision would save Uncle Yang some awkwardness.
Yang Jianguo took the documents to Yu Zhenxing and asked for his help with the translation.
Yu Zhenxing had been in close contact with the people of Jinshan Bay for several years, so he was naturally familiar with the Yang Family’s affairs.
As he translated, looking up words in the dictionary, he was dumbfounded.
No wonder Yang Zhigang gritted his teeth whenever he mentioned his son in the United States.
A bastard like that was truly detestable.
With the translation and the original documents in hand, Yang Jianguo bought some cold dishes and a bit of wine, placing them in a basket.
"Second Uncle, come on, let’s go have a drink outside. There’s something I need to talk to you about."
Yang Zhigang paused, slightly taken aback, then smiled. "What is it?"
Yang Jianguo walked straight ahead. "You’ll find out in a bit anyway!"
The uncle and nephew went to the seaside. Yang Jianguo spread a cloth under a tree and laid out the dishes he had brought.
Yang Jianguo also took out some cups and poured two glasses of wine.
Yang Zhigang’s heart sank to the pit of his stomach. "Jianguo, what on earth has happened?"
Yang Jianguo forced an ugly smile and handed both the original documents and the translation to Yang Zhigang.
"Second Uncle, this is from the investigation in the United States that Xiao Rui and Ye Feng requested through the Xu family’s connections. I’ve already had it translated. Take a look for yourself."
Yang Zhigang’s heart pounded with anxiety as he took them.
He couldn’t read English, so he went straight to the translation.
After reading it, Yang Zhigang sat there, completely motionless.
After a long moment, Yang Jianguo said quickly, "Second Uncle, if you’re hurting, just cry!"
Yang Zhigang remained motionless, but tears began to drip, drip, drip down his face.
’This just proved it once more. That son of his was the curse of his life.’
Yang Jianguo continued to persuade him. "Second Uncle, Yang Jianming is a lost cause! But you have four granddaughters here, and two more over there!"
"Those two granddaughters only have a nanny looking after them; Yang Jianming doesn’t care about them at all! You can only imagine what kind of people they’ll grow up to be in that kind of environment!"
"Xiao Rui and Ye Feng said that if you want to go to the United States and fight for custody of the children, they will provide you with the necessary help."
Hearing his nephew’s words, Yang Zhigang wiped his tears. "Jianguo, you’re right! I still have granddaughters—two more in the United States! I have to bring them back and raise them!"
"I’ll apply for a visa right now. I’ll try to get to the United States immediately and win custody of the children! Yang Jianming only has eyes for money, he has no humanity, but we’re not like that!"
Yang Jianguo breathed a sigh of relief at his uncle’s words. As long as Second Uncle still had his granddaughters in his heart, his spirit wouldn’t break.
"Second Uncle, even if you get a visa and can fly to the United States right away, we aren’t familiar with their laws. We don’t know the place or the people. How could you possibly win against Yang Jianming?"
"Before, Shunshun and Lili had no assets in their names, so in Yang Jianming’s eyes, they were meaningless. But the two children in the United States have assets in their names, though they can’t be touched until they turn eighteen."
"How could the money-obsessed man Yang Jianming is now give up such a fortune? All he has to do is pay for a nanny to look after the two girls, and then once they turn eighteen, he can claim all those assets for himself!"
A chill ran through Yang Zhigang, and his mind felt sluggish. "Then what do we do now?"
In Shencheng, or anywhere in the country, Yang Zhigang wasn’t afraid to go anywhere. But going abroad... Yang Zhigang didn’t speak any foreign languages. Trying to fight a legal battle in the United States would be incredibly difficult.
Yang Jianguo scratched his head. "Xiao Rui and Ye Feng are more worldly. Let’s finish our food and drinks here, let go of some of this anger, and then find them. We can all come up with a plan together."
Yang Zhigang, who was starting to feel hungry, picked up a glass of wine from the cloth and downed it in one go before grabbing a few bites of food.
’I can’t punish myself for someone else’s mistakes!’
"That’s right! I need to eat and drink my fill to have the strength to deal with that bastard Yang Jianming! This isn’t something that can be solved in a day. We need a long-term plan!"
As for his son, Yang Jianming, he was already a dead man in Yang Zhigang’s heart.
Crying over someone like that would only prove that he, Yang Zhigang, was useless.
After eating and drinking, Yang Zhigang’s spirits had lifted somewhat.
The uncle and nephew headed straight for Han Xiaorui’s home. Han Xiaorui and Ye Feng were there, and Xu Yingying had also come over for a visit with her child.
Seeing Xu Yingying was there, Yang Zhigang and Yang Jianguo explained the situation directly without hiding anything from her. After all, they would need the Xu family’s help to deal with matters in the United States.
After listening to their story, Xu Yingying was slightly taken aback. "Brother Yang, you’re planning to go to the United States to fight for custody of your granddaughters?"
Yang Zhigang nodded. "Yes. Those two children have no one to look after them properly. That man, Yang Jianming, is a beast in human skin; it’s impossible for him to truly care for them. Who knows what they’ll become by the time they grow up."
"My four granddaughters here are all being raised very well, and the environment in our village is simple and wholesome. In a place like this, a child can at least grow up with proper values."
"I have the means to provide them with a good material life, and I have the time to be with them. I’ve thought it over and over. Since they are children of the Yang Family, I have to bring them back."
"Yingying, you’ve spent a lot of time in the United States. Can you help me think of a solution? You just saw the documents, so you know what kind of creature Yang Jianming is. The children won’t be well off with him. Xiao Xu, I’m begging you, please help me."
Thanks to their connection through Han Xiaorui, the two families had always been on good terms.
Xu Yingying visited often and knew Yang Zhigang well.
They often chatted and laughed together, becoming like good relatives.
Otherwise, the Xu family wouldn’t have spent time and effort trying to track down Yang Jianming before.
However, this was an international lawsuit, which was not so simple.
Winning a custody case and bringing back two children with American citizenship was even harder.
Still, where there’s a will, there’s a way.
It would be troublesome, but it wasn’t impossible.
