The Land Of Hyrule

When the light faded, we found ourselves in a sandy mountainous region. I made myself presentable while Gang Orca removed his headphones, placing them around his neck, and looked around. He immediately got in between us and some monster-looking things that were coming towards us to fight. There are a few tall, freaky, lanky things with horns and long snouts. Two of them were black, and one was white and purple, and two electric slime things were coming at us. Gang Orca engages with the white one and separates from us a bit to protect us since it appears to be the strongest, and Ayaka kisses me and goes 2D. She does her 2D armament tentacle slam against the others, making them hop several meters in the air. The slimes release a static discharge that stunned Ayaka, but they seem to have lost their charge after their attack, so I quickly teleport and slash them with my pinky sword, and they disappear, leaving little balls of yellow jelly.

When Ayaka could move again, she did another slam, and the black tall things fell down this time after reconnecting to the ground, stunned. I use this opportunity to slash them with my pinky sword, and they disappear as well in a puff of smoke, leaving some horns, guts, a nice sword, and a nice shield. Ayaka says while coming back to 3D, “Wow, it almost feels like we are in a video game and they are dropping items.” I look over to check on Gang Orca, and he defeats the white monster, and it disappears, dropping items as well, and I see a shimmer in the drop items as Gang Orca leaves everything to walk back to us. I teleport and see a red gem among the loot, and ask Gang Orca if he wants it since he beat the monster. He said, “I missed it, so finders keepers, kid.” I take it back to Ayaka, and she says, “It almost looks like a large ruby. Let’s take it with us for now.” I nod as she puts it in a tattoo for safekeeping.

I teleport to the ledge here and look in the distance to see a change in ecosystems, a decent way away, and I see ominous energy circulating a large castle in the distance. I tell them, “I see something gnarly in the distance that we should probably avoid. It seems like a very evil villain’s energy is consuming a castle over there.” It is even visible without my special eye, and they look, and Gang Orca nods, “I agree. Let’s steer clear of that area and try to complete our objective. Let’s see if we can find someone to help point us in the right direction. I doubt that the gem we retrieved from that monster would be enough in negotiations with Russia’s dictator, Dmitry Ivanov, to persuade him to part with his dragonball.” 

I teleport us to the top of the cliff behind us. There is a weird tower on this cliff, but we ignore it mainly because monsters noticed our sudden presence. I handed Ayaka the paper with the shuriken, and she pulled them out and struck the small monsters, making them disappear with a puff of smoke while Gang Orca killed the other one. Gang Orca sighs while dusting some sand off his suit, “I don’t like this dry air.” I teleport over to the edge at a different side so we can get another vantage point of where we are. Trying to find people. I look down into this ravine in between these cliffs and see a weird structure that looks like it is lit up with blue designs and a trail of smoke. Maybe there are people down there. I teleport us down there and immediately smell food cooking, which is a good sign. I follow my nose and look down from the cliff and see a building with a horse’s head on top of it, with people walking around.

The guy sitting at the campfire seems to be distressed. I hear him say, “My poor friends. I wonder if that knight will be alright?” He seems worried out of his mind, and we approach him, and he is out of breath and sweating like he was running. He is startled by Gang Orca’s appearance and jumps back, “Whoa! I have never seen a zora like you before! You look strong, though, so you might be able to help.” Gang Orca asks, “What seems to be the problem, sir?” He asks, “Did you see my friends on your way in?” We shake our heads, and he says, “Their names are Oliff, Flaxel, Canolo, and Palme. We were walking, and suddenly monsters attacked us near the Koukot Plateau path. I took off running and didn’t stop until I got to this place. I ran into a lone knight and told him, and he disappeared suddenly after he said he would help, but I don’t know if he can handle all of those monsters by himself.”

Ayaka asks with that reassuring hero face, “We are heroes and can help, but we aren’t from here and don’t know our way around. Can you point us in the direction we need to go?” He nods, “Certainly.” He points us up the road and says, while wiping sweat from his brow from running, “It was up that way around the turn. As I was leaving, they were climbing up frantically onto the wooden scaffolding to try and get away from the monsters.” We nod, and I hold them and teleport us away. Unbeknownst to us, we startled the guy when we did that.

We get to the bend, and there are three people sort of close together (a single hop for me, but more distance for those without my quirk), and one further away. There are even monsters patrolling the scaffolding of this ravine, so we have loads of enemies to be wary of. It seems that this mystery knight is fighting to save the farthest one. Gang Orca says, “They are surrounding each person, and they won’t survive at this rate. Hops, teleport me to the person with the most monsters, and then you girls split up and protect the other two.” I hand Ayaka a few pages of my kunai knives and shuriken that I was drawing for her, and she takes them and makes them tattoos on her arms to fight more easily as I teleport Gang Orca to the person with the most monsters. I then drop Ayaka off with a kiss as she steals my jawbreaker quickly. I quickly replace it and go off to the third person’s location. 

The person I am saving is currently cornered on the very top of a scaffolding with a few small monsters blocking their exit. I use my quirk to sneak up on them while they are distracted and stealthily kill them quickly as they turn into puffs of smoke. The person turned out to be a woman wearing a backpack. She said, “Thank you for the help. That was almost the end of me. I am going to be so sore tomorrow. Those filthy bottom feeders…” I tell her, “Let’s get you the fuck out of here.” She nods, “Let’s.” I hold her hand and say, “This may feel weird.” I teleport us to the horse stable, where she yells at her friend for leaving them behind. I immediately teleport back and provide help to Ayaka, who is surrounded by those small monsters since some on the scaffolding were alerted to her fight. She is on a narrow scaffolding, knocking monsters off one at a time carefully with a cute, thick girl with pigtails behind her, screaming. 

I get behind the monsters, and since they are distracted, I kill two of them stealthily before the others catch on to my presence. Ayaka used a tentacle while they were distracted and swept the remaining monsters in the ravine. The lady hugged Ayaka and said, “I am saved!” Ayaka tells her of the guy at the stables, and she gets mad at him, clenching her fists and stomping her foot, “I am safe, no thanks to Sesami! He ran and left us for dead! Who does that? Especially to a girl!” I teleport her quickly to the stable and then take Ayaka and me to check on Gang Orca, who is currently fighting loads of those tiny monsters on a bigger wooden platform with the civilian behind him. The tiny things keep running at Gang Orca (they seem particularly small next to him), who is effortlessly throwing them off. He doesn’t need our help and finishes dispatching them with ease. 

The mystery knight was apparently done rescuing the other person, and they are walking together, approaching us. We seem to have killed all of the monsters in this area, as these once heavily patrolled scaffoldings are now empty. The person Gang Orca saved said, “I have never seen a zora fight like you. That was wonderful form! My name is Oliff, and I am a decent fighter, but I was caught off guard when traveling with my friends… They vastly outnumbered us and did a great job at separating us in an organized way. By the Goddess, I am grateful you appeared.” Before I teleport anyone anywhere, we wait for the knight to approach with the other civilian, who is very dark-skinned, in tow. He is excitedly talking about how incredible the knight is as they make their final approach. 

The knight is wearing a black hood, a mainly red/brown/green shirt that is long enough to be a short dress, khaki travel pants, boots, a blue and gold sword holster on his hip, and a tattered shield and bow on his back. The guy with him says excitedly, seeing the other civilian with Gang Orca, “Oliff! I am so glad to see that you are unharmed. What about the others?” Ayaka says while pointing to me, “My sidekick, Hops, teleported them to safety. They are at the stables near here.” They sigh in relief, and the knight who seems like the strong, silent type asks, “Do you have a Sheikah Slate, too?” I shake my head and respond, “My ability is a quirk that I was born with.” He seems a little surprised to hear that at first, but then shrugs it off. I wave them in for a huddle and teleport everyone to the stables.

When we arrived, the guy who told us about the others had a black eye and was crying from getting scolded by the girls already here. They are currently sitting around the campfire scowling at Sesami, the dude with the black eye. The guy with the black eye says, “Great, you are back! You saved them. I thought that they were dead, and you brought them back to me! I can’t thank you enough. My friends said that you guys were outnumbered and still were able to take out all of those monsters with style. A wave of emotion washed over me when they got back safely, even if they were mad that I ran away. Thank you so much. I want you to have this, but wait, there are 4 of you. How will we split it?” He goes to hand us a golden, perfectly cut gem, which seems to be a form of currency??? 

Ayaka shakes my head, “We don’t know what that is to appreciate it, so why don’t you give it to the knight here… By the way, what is your name, Mr. Knight?” He responds, “Link.” We introduce ourselves with our hero names, and he takes the reward for the rescue. Ayaka says reassuringly, “Don’t feel bad for running away, Sesami. It is only a natural response. In my first few altercations with villains, I was terrified. My courage built up over time, and I am sure that you can become a strong fighter, too, someday. You just have to fight through the fear.” Sesami’s eyes water as he shakes Ayaka’s hand, “Thank you, Miss Flustrated. Your words lift my spirits.” She flashes that hero smile and responds, “That is what heroes do after all.” Sesami says, “We were thinking of splitting up, but if it is alright with the others, I want to stay together. I want to prove myself now.” The girls sigh and nod, and Sesami seems happy and says, “I will try not to run next time. Just you guys watch!” He turns to us and bows in gratitude, “I wish you the best with your endeavors.”

We nod and wave goodbye, and Ayaka asks Link, “Could you possibly help guide us in the right direction?” He nods, and Ayaka continues, “Let’s go somewhere quiet to talk.” He waves us to follow him inside the stable building, where the beds for travellers are located, and a table for eating. We all sit on a stool, and Ayaka says, “You probably guessed that we are not from this world from our abilities. We came here looking for rare gems that maybe have a special power, if possible. Would you be able to point us in the right direction?” He nods, and he pulls out a few pieces of jewelry and asks, “Would these suffice? This circlet gives cold resistance, while that one gives heat resistance. Those earrings offer increased defense, and these make you swim faster. While those provide shock resistance.” He says while pointing to a red circlet, a blue circlet, white earrings, and then yellow earrings.

We all perk up, and Ayaka says with excitement, “Those would be perfect! Though they sound pretty valuable. Is there something we could possibly help you with in exchange for those pieces of jewelry?” Link looks like he is thinking, and he says, “There are some places I haven’t explored yet.” He says, pulling out a weird device showing an incomplete map as he continues, “Could you use your ability to help me register the towers to my Sheikah Slate? I need to free the rest of the divine beasts as quickly as possible since there isn’t much time.” Ayaka asks, “Isn’t much time for what?” He sighs and says stoically, “The Calamity Ganon will soon break free. I don’t remember all of the details since I lost some of my memory, but it is my job to save Hyrule.” So the place we are in is called Hyrule. 

Ayaka asks, “So do you have a teleportation quirk like Hops?” Link raises his eyebrow on his stiff face in confusion, and he pulls out the device again and says, “This Sheikah Slate allows me to use different runes and also allows me to teleport to shrines and towers. I was able to aid those travelers quickly because there was a shrine on a cliff at that pass.” Ayaka gasps, “Wow, you have multiple abilities like us then.” He again raises his eyebrow, and Ayaka gives him a rundown of all that we can do. He nods, soaking it all in, and our stomachs growl, which steers the conversation to food. Link waves for us to join him outside, and he throws some meat, honey, and mushrooms into the pot over the campfire, and he gives us a plate of some very refreshing meat, and I can’t help but moan. I feel energized eating this.

When we are done eating, Link asks, “Do you want to get started now?” We nod, and we start at the tower here that was on the cliff. It is pretty chilly up here. I look around while Link is placing the Sheikah Slate into the groove on the pedestal here, as I wish my hero costume had sleeves. I see an oasis in the desert with a small settlement there. Further in the distance, I see a walled city with really muscular women posted up around it on guard, wielding spears. There is a structure like the blue lit one by the stable over there, but instead of being blue, it is orange. I ask Link as he is doing his thing, “So what are those weird structures that are either orange or blue? There is an orange one in the distance over there by that city.” Link explains them to us, and they are apparently shrines that mostly are trials for him to become stronger, but sometimes they are lessons from the goddess, or blessings from the Goddess.

I asked him, “Do you want me to teleport you to shrines that we see as well, since you can teleport to those as well?” He nods as he takes his Sheikah Slate from the pedestal, and the tower is lit up blue now. We huddle, and I teleport them to the distance to the shrine by the city so Link can do the Sheikah Slate thing with it. After he removes his Sheikah Slate, the shrine is orange and blue, not blue, and Ayaka asks, “Why didn’t this one turn completely blue?” Link responded while putting his slate back on his belt, “It only turns blue after I have completed the inside of the shrine. However, I need only register it on the Sheikah Slate to teleport to it. I can complete it later after you leave.” We nod in understanding.

We huddle again, and I teleport us to the top of the tower I see in the distance by a mountain. Once here, I see another shrine we can go to. We continued this for a few hours and went all over Hyrule. We were able to complete Link’s map and register many shrines for him so he can quickly get around. The Hebra mountains were particularly cold, and I made sure that we didn’t stay there long. Alternatively, there was a hot region, Eldin, with a volcano that was blisteringly hot, so we didn’t stay too long there either. Gang Orca used several of his bottles of water there because he was drying out rapidly. Besides the scary energy at the castle, this world is pretty beautiful, and they don’t seem as judgmental here. I was a little fearful for Gang Orca specifically, but other than being startled at first, they don’t treat him any differently than us. I really like that. 

We helped Link defeat monsters along the way (which took up most of our time), and his sword runs out of energy sometimes, and his other weapons seem to break often. If we took down monsters with raw gems, we kept the loot by the finders keepers rule, so we were able to snag a few more gems while we were here. He also showed us ore deposits, and how if you bust them up, they often drop gems. He asked about our Armament Haki and Ayaka’s ability to use Observation Haki to avoid attacks not in her line of sight, and I told him the concept and how we trained. We told him to start with quirk walking first, and he seemed excited in his strong/silent way. He particularly seemed to like the idea of Armament Haki since it would preserve his weapons. After about an hour of teleporting around and fighting some enemies, we ended up in a jungle ecosystem that he referred to as the Faron region. According to his map, we practically almost made a full circle around his map. While we were here with access to all of these trees, we helped him learn how to quirk walk, and once he started getting the hang of it, he chuckled slightly under his breath. 

Link gives us all of the magical jewelry of this world that he had in his inventory, and Ayaka asked him, “So Link, do you know of any private place where we can go home? We need to be intimate to activate her world-jumping quirk, and the stables here don’t provide any privacy.” Link nods, and he pulls out his Sheikah Slate and has us huddle, and he teleports us all to a shrine in a village. We follow him, and he takes us over a bridge to a house that is separated from the others. There is a sign out front that says, “Link’s House,” and he says while opening the door, “Feel free to use my bed.” Ayaka shakes his hand and says, “Thank you for all of your help.”

He smirks briefly on that stiff face of his and says, “I feel like you helped me more than I did you.” Ayaka smiles that warm, heroic smile of hers and says, “Do you mind if we come back to visit sometime?” He shakes his head and says, “My door is always unlocked.” Gang Orca chimes in, “We wish you well in your endeavors, Link. We really appreciate your assistance.” He nods, and he shuts us in his house. It is an open layout with a table in the center, weapons and shields adorning the walls decoratively, and a kitchenette on the left wall. There are stairs to the right of the entrance going upstairs, which look like a balcony where there is a bed, which is visible through the wooden railing. Gang Orca says, “I will listen to music down here while you guys do your thing.” I blush and awkwardly nod as we go up to the balcony and do the ritual while holding onto Gang Orca like last time, while holding all of our gear and loot from this very big haul of ours.
