The Scowling Sidekick: A My Hero Academia Fanfiction
Helping Hagakure
They beat the shit out of us so much on Saturday that they gave us Sunday to rest. We told Toru and Tsu that we were going to go world-hopping first thing in the morning after breakfast. Tsu said we had to be back before it was too late, since she had to leave for her work-study with Ryukyu on Monday morning. We haven’t told them that she is our neighbor yet, but it isn’t like we can introduce them or anything. There would be no logical explanation as to why two celebrity models would be hanging around high school girls, which doesn’t make us sound perverted. That would be really bad for our brand and wouldn’t help with Aya-chan’s vision to make the world a safer place for women.
After a quick trip to Hyrule to restock on gems, we teleported back to our dorm on Sunday morning to pick up Tsu and Toru. They already ate breakfast in preparation, since they are very dependable, which streamlined the process and allowed us to be in and out of the dorms. They were quite shocked to see our conditions from being beaten up so badly yesterday. Aya-chan reassured them, “We took a little bit of over-the-counter meds, so we are alright.” I just remembered that we have those potions from Kanto!
I whisper in Aya-chan’s ear, and she gasps, smacks her head lightly, and says while bonking her head, “I completely forgot about those since so much has happened since then.” I pull on her sleeve and whisper in her ear so the other two don't hear, "Please don't beat yourself up, Aya-chan. I forgot myself, too." She kisses me on the forehead then reaches around for a bit, then pulls out two potions from her bag, and I use one while she uses the other. A lot of our wounds disappear, but some cuts and bruises remain. Tsu told the others that we would be taking a quick trip and would be back later, so no one would worry about our absence and ask questions. The only people who would probably know we left the world from context clues are Ida, the nerd, Todoroki, and Yaomomo, since they know the truth about my quirk.
When we stealthily arrived in our apartment, Aya-chan took us back to 3D, and Tsu asked, “Do you guys need to go to that place to get more gems?” Instead of saying, Aya-chan took out a handful of gems briefly and put them back on herself as a tattoo for safekeeping. Aya-chan tells them, “I suggest leaving your phones here since we don’t know what we are teleporting into. I lost one phone to a whirlpool before I figured out the tattoo thing.” Tsu gasps, “A whirlpool? Where did that happen? Ribbit?” She explains what happened while we relocated, how it was the place where both Sir Floof and I received our scars. She gave them the CliffsNotes version of events that could be covered in the walk to the bedroom.
Toru says in amazement, “Wow, you guys are doing hero work already. That is amazing.” I blush, and Aya-chan says to clarify, “Well, technically, we only are doing our hero work in other worlds as we see fit. Some worlds are best not to make our presence known, or leave the hero work to the world’s heroes. Like in worlds like that other Japan, where quirks don’t exist.” I shiver just thinking about that place. Those powerless humans were quite terrifying. Something that particular world taught me was that just because you are powerless doesn’t mean teamwork and the right tools can't still overcome a more powerful foe. They were very well organized. Sir Floof senses some emotional discord within me and comes out, and Aya-chan takes notice.
She says while stopping near our bed and taking my face in her hands, “I am sorry. I didn’t mean to bring back terrible memories for you.” I shake my head, “You were there, too, and have the same bad memories that I do... Actually, I was just admiring them, in a weird way, for how well organized they were. They were quite formidably precise with their teamwork, and it reminded me of ants and how they are so much stronger working together.” Tsu chimes in, “Well, that is a common strategy when fighting a force stronger than yourself. That is the main reason why UA teaches us to cooperate with other heroes, because there are strong villains out there.” I nod, thinking of All for One and also that black dragon that Shenron showed us, which made All for One seem like a powerless child.
As she says this, she gets a hoodie, mask, and gloves for Toru so she doesn’t attract unwanted attention. Toru understands the assignment without words and puts everything on. Aya-chan gets our travel backpack tattooed on her, and we hop in bed fully clothed. Toru asks, “Wouldn’t it be better to take off your clothes?” We shake our heads violently in objection, and Aya-chan tells her about the many embarrassing situations we found ourselves in, and Toru takes her invisible arms to her face to cover her invisible blush that nobody can see. If I weren’t so embarrassed, I might have laughed at her. They then turned around while we performed our ritual, thinking of a place where we could get an item to allow Toru to be seen again.
It was weird having sex with our friends in the room, but I was able to orgasm just fine since Aya-chan knows my body so well. When the light faded, we found ourselves in a forest of sorts. I sigh in relief that we weren’t embarrassed in a crowd. Tsu quirk-walks up a tree and says, “I see a town over there. We probably should go there.” Aya-chan comes back to 3D from 2D, and she helps me stand up. We quirk-walk up a tree, and I use my zoom to look in town. I see a lot of humans and some heteromorphs. The heteromorphs seem to be oppressed and are at the mercy of the humans. I see a lot in chains and obviously malnourished, and I see many who are actively being beaten for what seems to be no reason other than cruelty.
I grit my teeth and say, “You guys aren’t going to like this place. Whatever you guys do, don’t play hero here. It will be in our best interest if we pretend we don’t have quirks here so we don’t get targeted.” Aya-chan says with a worried face, “Is it that bad?” I nod, “They seem extremely racist to heteromorphs here. I want to help them, too, but if we do, we will definitely be seen as villains here, and the likelihood that we find something for Toru will be low since they probably don’t want to assist criminals.” Aya-chan says, “If it is as bad as you say it is, let’s get Toru’s situation fixed, then see about possibly helping them.” We nod, understanding the mission, and we walk to this town. Aya-chan says as we walk, “If anyone asks, Toru is cursed, and we are trying to find a cure or a way to control it.” Sounds like a plan.
We get to town, and everyone is speaking a weird language. Tsu asks, “Do all worlds speak other languages like this for you guys?” We shake our heads, and Aya-chan says, “This is the first one where they speak another language.” She looks at me and asks, “Can you see about finding a store for special items or something?” I am already on it and looking around these crowded streets. I see one about a hop away, but since we aren’t using my quirk, it is a decent walk from our position. I point to where I see something that looks promising, a Magic Accessory Shop. I let them know, and we walk down these busy streets, avoiding the gazes at our weird clothes. We really stick out in our casual Japanese casual clothes in this fantasy world.
Tsu says as if she read my mind, “I think it might be best if we changed our attire to blend in while we are here.” We nod in agreement, hating the eyes on us. I spot a store a lot closer to us that sells clothes, and we start walking there. It is really unsettling being in a place where everyone is looking at you and pointing while speaking in a weird language. It feels similar to the other Japan, but freakier since we can’t understand them. Toru shivers, “I don’t like this.” Tsu grabs her hand in reassurance as we walk down these streets, grimacing at the abuse and racism present in this place. We quickly buy clothes, change into them in the store, and exchange one of our gems for them. Even though there was a language barrier, I could tell it was more than enough from his expression.
We promptly left the clothing store and continued our mission to retrieve an item for Toru while keeping a low profile. One of the first scenes we see when we leave the store is a human who is abusing a cat person, like what we have on Earth, in tattered clothes with a chain around his malnourished neck. The human is yanking on the chain and yelling something in the weird language of this land, which is probably something terrible. I walk hand in hand with Aya-chan, and she grips my hand tightly as we pretend we don’t see them. I sweat a cold sweat as I hold back every fiber in my body to help that cat man.
We continue walking to the store as we all grit our teeth, trying our best not to stand out or to intervene in the local socially acceptable villainous behaviour. There are many scenes just like that seen with the cat man as we walk this street, and it is heartbreaking. Even though we can’t understand the language, we understand the screams. It isn’t like I don’t want to help them, but I want to help Toru more.
We arrive at the store we were heading to, and the clerk immediately greets us in that same strange language. We wave and look around the store. I see lots of strange things, like an orb of shielding, a cantrip spell scroll, and the next thing is what caught my eye. Ring of Fluency: an item that magically fits the wearer and allows them to speak any and all languages. It appears to be a silver ring with many different rune-like things on it.
I pick it up and put it on Aya-chan and drag her to the counter and tell her, “That isn’t the ring for Toru, but it should allow you to speak to the people here, which should help us. See if you can trade something for it.” She says, looking at her ring, which is now magically forming to fit her perfectly, “I have no idea how to make it work or anything.” The guy behind the counter starts talking to Aya-chan, and she clutches her head as if she just received a headache. Her facial expression looks surprised that she understood him, and then she starts speaking the weird language back. She pulls out a ruby from Hyrule, and the dude behind the counter looks at it with a special lens that tells him details about it. They seem to be negotiating, and she points to Toru as she continues to talk. I see Aya-chan nod while pulling out more of them to hand to the clerk.
I’m so glad we restocked gems in Hyrule.
After talking with the clerk who is securing the gems safely in a chest, Aya-chan says to us in Japanese, “So, apparently the rubies have innate fire magic, which is why the jewelry made from them offered cold-weather resistance. Though they have similar stones here that trade one for one for common items. The ring I am wearing is uncommon, though, and therefore more expensive." I nod understanding, since that ring seems pretty fucking valuable. Aya-chan continues, "I told him about Toru’s ‘curse,’ and he said he didn’t know of anything to remove invisibility, but he suggested trying the 'Ring of Invisibility' to see if it would counteract itself. However, that item is also uncommon and expensive.” I didn’t think of something like that. I scour the store’s selection and stumble upon the ring the clerk was talking about. I hand it to Toru so she can put it on. At first, nothing happens, and then the ring shrinks to match her size and turns invisible with her, blending into her invisible skin.
When the ring shrank, her clothes seemed to turn invisible, too. I was worried and tried to reach out for her, worried that I somehow made her disappear for good, and she was still there, thankfully. She is groaning, and I feel her legs buckle as I hold her as if the ring is having an adverse reaction. Tsu assisted me as we laid her down on the store floor, and I felt her forehead. She is burning up. Tsu calls out to her, but there is no response. I think that Toru passed out when the ring was put on. I am worried about her and how this seems like my fault that we are in this position. The store clerk came rushing out from behind the desk and was talking with Aya-chan in that strange language. She hands the clerk more gems for Toru’s ring as well, while they both talk and observe worriedly in the empty spot where Toru currently is. I see Aya-chan wincing in pain occasionally, like she still has a headache.
As Tsu and I tend to a completely invisible and unconscious, feverish Toru, a dude with a chiseled jaw who just had ‘entitled’ written all over his face comes walking in wearing an elegant-looking outfit. He spots Aya-chan talking to the store clerk. He obviously sees her beauty under her mild cuts and bruises from training with that gross expression on his face, and he starts invading her space and the conversation with the clerk, and approaches her to attempt to grab her by the wrist as she steps back and pulls her wrist away from him. I leave Toru in Tsu’s hands, and I get in between this man and Aya-chan. I glare at him, and he pulls a sword to intimidate me and holds it to my throat. I hear Aya-chan talking to the man in this world’s language and using armament to protect my neck as he presses harder against my skin, as he attempts to break my skin in intimidation. Aya-chan says to me in Japanese, “He says that as a noble, he is entitled to have me as a concubine.”
LIKE I WOULD FUCKING ALLOW THAT!
Seeing nothing but red, I make my hand black with armament, and I break his sword and hold the broken blade up against his throat. I force him to back up, and he crashes into one of the shelves, ruining a display in the shop. I tell him in Japanese so Aya-chan can translate, “I don’t give a flying fuck who you are. NO ONE will touch my lover without her consent.” This man fills me with so much rage, and I press this broken blade in his neck, breaking his skin as a trickle of blood falls down his neck. Aya-chan comes up behind me and places a hand on my shoulder, and makes my previously red sight back to normal. I drop the broken blade, and the noble runs to his carriage with his hand covering the wound on his neck and yells at his entourage to chase us, I am assuming. Aya-chan quickly tosses the clerk an extra sapphire for the trouble we caused, and Tsu wraps her tongue around Toru to pick her up, and we run out back very quickly.
In the alley behind the store, we combine our quirks and teleport out of town discreetly back to where we came into this world in the forest, while Tsu looks back at the confused locals who are wondering where we disappeared to. We stayed silent until we got back to the forest, and I chuckle when we pop back to 3D and say, “Wow, now that is two places I am probably seen as a villain now for protecting you from entitled royalty.” Aya-chan corrects me also in a nonchalant manner, “Well, technically, you aren’t wanted in Wano anymore since that Shogun was killed during the raid of Onigashima. So, technically, this puts you back to one again.” Tsu chimes in, “Aren’t you two taking this situation a little too lightly? Ribbit. Ribbit.” Aya-chan shakes her head, “No, we will soon be out of this world, so it isn’t like we are going to come back, and if we did, we would be Fumiaki and Hanzo... Though I would like to use our alternate identities to help those heteromorphs.”
I nod in agreement and say, “What she said.” Aya-chan looks through the trees in the distance and continues talking, “Speaking of, let’s get a little distance between us and that town before we do the ritual.” Aya-chan helps me carry the still-unconscious Toru, and then we teleport with my quirk farther away. Tsu asks if we could possibly teach her how we transform as we travel, and Aya-chan nods and says, “Kai-chan would have to explain the particulars, but you have to make sure nobody sees you use it.” Tsu replies, “Well, I don’t want to bring harm to my friends, so that is a given. Ribbit. I just want to help the people here somehow.” Tsu clutches her chest, thinking about the local situation.
As they talk, I look around, and it seems it is just like when we traveled in the jungles of the Amazonian rainforests. The weird beasts in these lands avoid us just the same. Aya-chan shivers when she sees a massive spider and clutches me tight as we continue to quickly teleport further away. We also saw something that looked like a mix of an owl and a bear, with blood-stained fur/feathers that looked scary as fuck with huge claws. It screeched when it saw us, but we just evaded it with my quirk. I could tell that the screech exasperated Aya-chan’s headache.
We come across a sparkly lake with an island in the center, a small cave that looks perfect for the ritual. I teleport us there, and the view here is almost magical. Since we don’t know what the water will do if we touch it, we make a point of not touching it. It is extremely beautiful, though. There are some tiny, fairy-like creatures that are playing around the lake, which are really adorable. They ignore us until we start doing the ritual to return to Japan. It was hard to orgasm with the intense situation with Toru, the giggling of the fairies, and the intense staring.
After I finally manage to orgasm, we are back on our California king mattress and sigh in relief to be back home. We make ourselves presentable, and we immediately check on Toru. She seems to have a fever, so Aya-chan runs to our bathroom to check our medicine cabinet. While she is gone, I tell Tsu, while looking away since it is embarrassing being honest like this, “Ahem. I am glad that you were with us today. Otherwise, I don’t know what would have happened to Toru.” Tsu smiles softly with worry still written on her face because of Toru’s current state, “I am glad you let me come along so I could help.” She reaches over, grabs my hand platonically, and gently squeezes it as I nod nonverbally to say, ‘Anytime’ without saying the words.
Aya-chan comes rushing back and shakes her head, “We don’t have any fever reducers here, Kai-chan. Let me change into Fumiaki and go buy some. Why don’t you come with me while Tsu takes care of Toru?” Tsu is already on it and asks where the washcloths are. Sir Floof comes out and nonverbally says he will stay behind, and he shows Tsu where we keep our washcloths. I tell him after I change into Hanzo, “Thanks, Sir Floof. We will pick treats for everyone.” I glance at the mirror and see that we are still in our otherworldly attire, and I mutter, “Shit, we'd better go change first.”
He elegantly and excitedly spins as he continues on his quest to get Tsu a washcloth, and it warms my heart as I remove my otherworldly clothes. After we quickly change back into our normal clothes, Ayaka grabs my hand, and we go on our quest to get medicine and treats. I ask her in the elevator, “Did you take something for your headache?” She nods, “We had some over-the-counter pain pills, and I took some when I was looking for fever medicine. I should be fine in about 45 minutes or so.” I sigh in relief as the elevator doors open in the lobby area.
Aya-chan waves to the concierge at the front desk, paired with a wink, and she melts into a puddle. Aya-chan snaps her fingers in recollection of their duties and approaches the concierge, “Maybe you can help us, Miss….” She looks at her name tag since it is a different girl today, “Naomi.” She nods and strokes her bright blue hair out of her blushing face and asks, “What can I do for you, Mr. Fumiaki?” Aya-chan leans on the desk in a cool and suave manner and asks, utilizing all her charm, “Would you by chance have any fever medicine available? My dear Han-chan here has a little fever from overworking himself, and I need to make him take a nap and rest.”
She looks at me with that sexy face of hers like she wants to conquer me again, and my face blushes furiously, which was her desired result. She continues while holding me at my waist with the arm not resting on the counter, “This stubborn one here won’t lie down unless you put him down.” The concierge nods, “I can get something that will help him rest. One moment.” She gets up and goes off on her mission, and while she is occupied, Aya-chan gets her Fumiaki blue phone out and orders a strawberry shortcake from a local bakery that supports delivery requests. She says, “When we get back in the room, I will make ‘you’ some rice porridge.” I nod, understanding that she obviously means Toru, but playing along for optics with the others present in the lobby area where we are.
The concierge comes back with a bottle of common OTC fever pills and hands them to Fu-chan while blushing furiously, and she says while handing her a wad of yen, “Thank you so much, Naomi. Here is a token of my appreciation for caring for my precious Han-chan.” She bows slightly to the concierge while making her flirting face, and Fu-chan says as she returns upright, “I ordered some takeout as well, so when the delivery driver gets here, you have my permission to send them up.” Naomi nods, still very flustered, and replies professionally, “Certainly, Mr. Fumiaki.” Fu-chan flashes her warm, handsome smile, then we take the medicine back to our apartment.
We return to our apartment and stay as Fumiaki and Hanzo, so we don’t accidentally forget when the delivery driver arrives. As Fu-chan takes the medicine into the bedroom, I prepare a glass of water and take it in, where Fu-chan is helping Toru sit up in bed, unconscious. They put the medicine in her mouth, and I handed Fu-chan the cup of water, and she gently poured some into her mouth as Tsu made her swallow in her unconscious, completely invisible state. Once she has taken her meds, they lay her down again, and Tsu wets the washcloth and places it back on Toru’s head. I go into the kitchen, wash some rice, and prepare some rice porridge for her.
The takeout arrives as I am preparing the porridge, and Fu-chan gets it. Once she brings it inside, I drop my transformation since that should be it for our visitors today, to preserve my magic. Aya-chan places the cake inside our fridge. Tsu yells at us while I continue to prepare the porridge on the stove, “She is awake!” I cover the porridge and rush into the bedroom, and what we see next makes our jaws drop.
Toru is visible now.
Clothes and all. Her hair is beautiful, as if rainbow pigments as lights hit it. Her face is really cute, just like I imagined. Aya-chan squeals, “Toru, you are so fucking cute!” I nod as we go to sit down on the side of the bed where Tsu is sitting.
I stammer, “I t-think your hair is c-cool, T-toru.” She looks down at her long hair through her fingers and giggles, “I do, too.” I jumped up, “Shit, your porridge!” I ran back into the kitchen, stirred the porridge for a few more minutes until it was done, then took it off the stove. I took the porridge into the bedroom on a tray with a glass of juice and placed it in her lap. Toru giggles, “I feel fine, you know. I think my fever was the energy from the ring interacting with my quirk.” Aya-chan says in a tone that reminds me of Mom, “Make us feel better and eat it anyway. We were very worried about you, Toru.” Toru blushes adorably and says, “O-ok.” She starts eating the porridge.
Tsu tells her as she eats, “Kai-chan was so worried and wanted to make sure you were ok.” I blush and look away and say a little flustered, “W-well, I thought it was my fault she was sick.” Toru giggles as she blows on the porridge and eats it, “Thanks, Sekai.” I nod while hiding my blushing face with my hood. Tsu asks, “Ribbit. So, Toru, are you still able to turn invisible?” She nods as she continues eating, “It feels like the ring gives me more control over my quirk and I can turn my clothes invisible, too, which I couldn’t do before.” She seems so excited and is glowing (not literally) as she radiates with excitement. Aya-chan grabbed her phone in a panic, “Shit, speaking of all of this, we probably need to let the principal know that you aren’t invisible anymore, so you aren’t treated as an intruder by the security bots on campus.” Aya-chan sends the principal a picture of Toru’s face so he can update Toru’s file in the security system.
We spent the rest of the day teaching them transformation magic and how to use it, and they were practicing to be each other, so Tsu is Toru and Toru is Tsu. Toru asks in Tsu’s body, “So how did you guys practice to be able to hold the transformations so long?” I clear my throat, surprised by the question, and Aya-chan says, while reaching around me and holding me tight, “We just made practicing fun.” She started touching me as she hugged me from behind, and she grabbed my breasts over my hoodie, which made me blush furiously as she was doing it in front of our friends. Tsu laughs while still appearing as Toru, “We should have expected that. Ribbit.” She then poofs back. After practicing transformation magic with Tsu and Toru, we visited Toru’s family so she could tell them the good news and show them in person. It was a heartwarming sight to see her hug her parents.
