The Scowling Sidekick: A My Hero Academia Fanfiction
Gunga Mountain Villa Final Boss
{Sekai’s POV}
We got back to the main force at the entrance, and it seems they restrained everyone except Vampy and Twice. She apparently warned him about Squash, grabbed him, and escaped using my quirk. The pros were upset they couldn’t apprehend them, but thankful there were no more casualties.
Since they were all alright, we checked on the northern team, who seemed to have the situation under control and were in the middle of post-battle containment. Kendo saw our group teleport in and said, “I take it that you finished with your area. We have things handled here if you want to check on the other group in the southeast.” On it, I immediately start teleporting that way as my non-verbal reply.
As we teleport, I see a giant villain I don’t even need my zoom to see, and it seems the chick who can split her body is trying to keep him occupied. We get close and see they've taken most of the grunts out of the fight, and Shoji alerts Yaomomo to our arrival, and she sighs in relief. She says, “Thank god you guys are here. This would have been tough to do on our own since we would need everyone working together, but they are occupied at the moment restraining the army so we can fight that large villain without worry.”
Just like during our fight, Mineta started throwing his balls down to help them trap and contain the massive army of villains. His head is starting to bleed from using his quirk so much. Aya-chan pulls out a few potions and sprays his head to help him push through. Ojiro is helping Mineta this time, smacking villains not caught in their traps into both Honenuki’s softening and Mineta’s balls. Tokoyami helps Tokage fight the giant villain, while the shadow dude with us from class 1-B stealthily helps Tetsutetsu fight Dabi.
Aya-chan asks Yaomomo, since she was in command here, “Hey, Creati, do you mind if I take command since I have future sight?” Yaomomo sighs in relief and says, “Yes. By all means, go ahead. I will act as your support, Flustrated.” Aya-chan asks me and the welding dude, “Hops, Welder, can you surprise Dabi and weld his hands together so he can’t use his quirk as easily?” I glance at my welding teammate, who looks a little nervous, but he nods, and I nod too. She pulls me in for a quick kiss, steals my jawbreaker, and asks, “Can I steal another, just in case?” I obviously oblige, since I want to make sure that she is safe.
The welding guy with us is blushing since her retrieval method is a kiss. He looks a bit pale, like he might be getting motion sick from all the teleporting. So, before we head off into battle again, I reach into my pocket, put a motion sickness patch behind his ear, and tell him, “That should help with motion sickness.” He sighs and responds, “Thanks. I usually don’t have a problem with motion sickness, but teleporting this much was starting to get to me a little bit.”
I hear the giant villain say in a thundering voice, “This was supposed to be an easy battle to squash the heroes, but you brats ruined it! Nobody told us that any students or heroes could use haki better than us!” He sends a shockwave toward Aya-chan because she's been giving directives to our team, and she goes 5D to avoid it.
Squash and Sir Floof come out to help, and Squash uses her conqueror’s haki to immediately take out the few remaining conscious grunts, leaving only Dabi and the giant villain. Our classmates on this team get a huge morale boost, and I hear Yaomomo ask Aya-chan, “Wait, is that Squash?” Aya-chan replies with that hero smile of hers, “Yep! Isn’t she the coolest?! She really helped out in our fight and got loads stronger after evolving.” I smirk, proud of my friend, as I teleport this welding dude to Dabi while Squash looks pleased with her power and strikes a cool pose. I let out a light chuckle, realizing her personality is way different from before, just like Sir Floof.
The shadow guy and Tetsutetsu seem to know what we are planning since they see us together, so they both protect themselves with armament and hold Dabi back from his blue flames, and we teleport to Dabi. Squash, understanding what we are doing, uses her Disable quirk on Dabi to stop his quirk, and we weld his hands together to prevent him from using it through them. He can still technically use his quirk, but it will be harder to manifest now.
While he is disabled, Tetsutetsu knocks him out. Once he is restrained, we move on to the big villain. I can tell Squash tried to use her Conqueror’s Haki on him, but it doesn’t seem effective. Either he is too strong, or his willpower is too high. The big villain tries to use that ground-shaking move again with his quirk, but he can't. I think Squash used her Disable quirk on him.
Given how powerful he is and how his quirk works, the Disable quirk only worked on one specific move. She's only fought one-trick ponies before, and she could shut them down completely, but this villain is different. He's still trapped in position thanks to Honenuki’s softening. Tokage follows Aya-chan’s instructions to hit him in the vulnerable spots with her observation haki. Tetsutetsu, the shadow dude, Tokoyami, and everyone else start focusing on the large villain. Honenuki hardened, softening and trapping the large villain, so our allies had something to stand on while making it even harder for the villain to move.
With his earthquake-type move disabled, he starts swinging his fists and smacks Tetsutetsu, Tokoyami, and Sato away. They use armament to protect themselves from the impact of the trees, and the force knocks several trees out of their path. They were banged up afterward, but they were still okay and got back into the fight. Like Kirishima, Tetsutetsu doesn't have an aptitude for observation haki, so he has to rely on Aya-chan’s callouts. Though, since this villain is so large, it is hard for them to get out of dodge even with her help.
His legs seem to be the only thing keeping him mobile, so I drop off the welding dude at Aya-chan so he can take a break, and I pop another jaw breaker to teleport myself high in the sky behind him so it will be harder for him to block while the others can distract him from the front. Since he is trapped on the ground, he should be an easy target for my enhanced, haki-infused Meteor Hop. Especially since those prosthetics seem to grow with his quirk, so they are very large targets. I start nosediving at incredible speed, aiming specifically for his prosthetic legs. When I got close, I prepared for impact as usual and hit him with force similar to when I cut All Might’s legs off, but I used a large, blunted edge that struck both legs. His prosthetics shattered, and he fell under the weight of his quirk; both variables caused a massive crater in the battlefield.
Tetsutetsu then started hitting the shit out of the villain with haki-infused punches until he was knocked out. Once he was out, the pros on the battlefield immediately restrained him when he shrunk down to his normal size, since he was the biggest problem. He is probably the strongest villain we have faced so far, aside from Shigaraki. However, we haven’t technically fought him yet. We have just encountered him. I guess we should count our blessings because I never want to fight that bastard.
We spent the rest of our time here helping the pros restrain the many villains who were knocked out, since there were thousands of them. Aya-chan had me teleport back to the villa and grab more pros who were resting after their fight with the diversionary force so they could help out restraining these villains, too.
After helping the heroes restrain all the villains, they used my quirk to transport them to the vehicles that would take them to the villain hospital and prison. After teleporting them to the vehicles, they sent us to the police force HQ for post-battle procedure. Which included a verbal recount of each one of our battles, a fuck ton of paperwork, and counseling for watching people die. By the end of the day, I was pretty tired and also very hungry.
The only thing I had since the start of the fight was my jawbreakers, and they weren’t filling. The snacks at the police force HQ weren't enough to fill me up. Apparently, the students who were at the Jaku Hospital raid finished their post-battle procedures before us and were already back at the dorms. I sure hope that they are cooking something, because I am fucking starving. My stomach has been growling non-stop.
I am so hungry that I can’t really use my quirk right now, even with jaw breakers, so we take vehicles back to campus. Though, the pros would probably make us take vehicles back anyway to be on the safe side, regardless of my quirk's functionality. I fucking hate taking vehicles with my quirk. It feels like I am moving in slow motion when I could be there in mere moments. Aya-chan, who is sitting next to me, senses my impatience and hears my stomach growling, and she says, “Our classmates ordered pizza, salad, and chicken wings for dinner. Nobody felt like cooking today, so they went with the easy route.” I perk up at that. I say, “I just hope that there is enough for us when we get there.” She giggles, “They assured us that it should be enough. They even said that they ordered a lot more salad than they normally would have so Garlic could have his fill, too.”
I sigh in relief at her words and ride in silence, listening to our classmates talk about their respective fights at each battlefield since we didn’t see each other fight. Hearing Kirishima talk about Yanagi’s poltergeist surfing, Yaomomo chimed in about the similar transport Tokage used to get them to the battlefield quickly. I am not going to lie, between tiny surfing and being a living drone, both sound pretty dope. I could see why they had fun. Everyone apparently worked well as a good team. Though you won’t catch me saying that. I listen in silence.
When we get back to the campus, I hold Aya-chan’s hand and pull her quickly to our feast of pizza, salad, and chicken wings. She giggles and says, “The food isn’t going anywhere.” I say impatiently as my mouth waters, “It is going to go in my stomach. That is where it is going.” She starts laughing, and so do the rest of our classmates within earshot. Kirishima chimes in, “I am starving, too. Those snacks they gave us at the police force weren’t anywhere near enough.” I look at him and nod in agreement without slowing down, and they giggle at me, which flusters me and makes me turn around to avoid their eyes.
{Ayaka’s POV}
The moment we got inside, Kai-chan started eating and was in her own little world of pleasure. I am alright with seeing people eat now, but I still haven’t worked up the courage to eat what everyone else is eating. Deonte made me some cooked vegetables, mashed potatoes, and beans for protein. All of which are seasoned and prepared to perfection. The counselor I have been seeing recommended that I focus more on the food's color and texture rather than the experience itself.
To be honest, I probably would have freaked out if the soup he made during my past recovery was tomato-based, since that terrible day was full of crimson with chunks of entrails falling from the heroes' bodies. Deonte knows this, and he has stayed away from all things tomato and red. I am very thankful for Deonte’s mindfulness. He is such a good dude. Speaking of him, I think he and Ryuko are dating, which shocked me a little, but apparently they bonded during the bomb scare, and he's been cooking for her on private in-apartment dates. Now that I think about it, it sounds like food is their foreplay, and I would rather not think of them that way.
I change my thought process, and I practice what the counselor suggested: eat slowly (like I was unintentionally doing before counseling) and focus on what she wants me to focus on. As I eat, I hear our classmates who were at the Jaku hospital site talk about taking Shigaraki into custody. Midoriya says something that makes the whole Gunga Villa team drop their food on their plates, “The pros were able to take Shigaraki into custody, but he was weird.” Yaomomo asks, “Weird how, so?”
Bakugo chimes in, “That bastard was unconscious, and he felt more dangerous than usual.” Midoriya nods, “Yeah, he wasn’t even awake, but we could tell that he would wreak havoc on the entire world if he were to awaken.” Everyone seems serious until Shoji mentions Kai-chan. “Sekai seems to be the only person who isn’t worried.” Everyone looks at Kai-chan, who is having a moment with her food. Her attention is glued to her food, oblivious to the many eyes on her, and she keeps moaning as she eats.
The tension in the class dissipates as everyone giggles at Kai-chan, and I say, “She worked up quite the appetite today. We did fight about 18,000 villains at the Gunga Villa, so it is only understandable that a quirk that feeds off food/pleasure would be taxed.” Yaomomo sighs and chimes in, “I am so glad she was there because the fight with that huge villain might have gone differently if we didn’t receive reinforcements in time.” I smirk at my beloved Kai-chan as she eats her chicken wings so messily that she has sauce all over her face, unbothered, and respond, “Yeah, she was amazing today, wasn’t she?”
Tokoyami wipes his mouth and says, “I actually think the MVP today was you, Kubo. Without your guidance and future sight, there would have been massive casualties, and I probably wouldn’t be here. There were several occasions that I would have been hit with Mr. Compress’s marbles and then later with that huge villain.” The others on the Gunga Villa team all seemed to agree, and I started to blush, not expecting the praise. I responded, slightly flustered, “I was just playing my part, and used my abilities to get the best possible result.”
Toru teases me a little and says, “You are blushing like Sekai, Ayaka.” I blush even harder, looking at my oblivious love, and feel even more flustered as the reason for my redness shifts. This oblivious girl has me in a chokehold. She is so cute with her sauce all over her face, but I don’t have the heart to interrupt her feast right now. I will clean her up when she is done. How can one person mean so much to me? She told me on several occasions that without me, she would have died on that day, but without her, I would probably be the same. That day we met was the second closest time to being raped (Leviathan being the closest), and they were pretty violent as well. Without her, who knows what would have happened to me.
At some point, while staring at my beloved Kai-chan, my flushed face turned into a face of longing as I watched her eat like it was her last meal. Bakugo says, “How can you look at that-” he says, gesturing to her sauce-covered face, “and not be repulsed? She looks like she has no manners.” I sigh and take my eyes off of her and look at Bakugo and say, “Well, you forget that she didn’t have anyone to teach her manners. Before she met me, she was all alone, just trying to survive.” All of them droop solemnly, remembering the news broadcast from when she was kidnapped, since they mentioned a lot about her past.
Bakugo, who seems to have forgotten since so much has happened, sighs and shuts up, especially after seeing everyone’s solemn reaction to my words. The news in the background, covering how Shigaraki was taken into custody, and the relief of hearing he was captured (again) lift their spirits a bit. Knowing the danger he posed to society, based on Bakugo’s and Midoriya’s words, I can only imagine the chaos he would have unleashed on everyone.
At this point, Kai-chan is getting full, and she sees everyone looking at the TV; it’s the first time she's heard of Shigaraki being apprehended since she's been in her own world. As she stares at the TV, mouth open in shock, I grab a napkin and wipe her face.
Ashido asks Kai-chan, “So, are you finally living in reality, Sekai?” Kai-chan smacks her teeth. “Tsk. What the fuck is that supposed to mean?” I whisper in her ear that she was in her own world, eating and missing a lot of conversation, and even throw in some cute jabs at her obliviousness. When she hears this, she pulls her hoodie up in embarrassment as the class starts giggling. She'd had had enough at this point and popped a jawbreaker to hop to our room.
