Chapter 929: The Wild Continent 2

Chapter 929: The Wild Continent 2

Valery switched her mechanical runic suit, Aegis Vanguard Tybe B, to casual mode. In this mode, it just looked like a normal full plate armor without any runic circles or arrays etched on it, but in truth, it was much more than that.

When the Explorer mode was used, it activated scouting, protection, and flying features. Valery had even used the Battle mode at times, and she had to say, this thing Lord Void King gave them so casually was a beast in its own right. If before with runic tools and sanctum potions she could match the first rankers, with Aegis Vanguard, she could hold against even a transcendent for a while. If used at its maximum potential.

For a mundane like her, that was a dream come true.

’No wonder Empire and Faerunia have been so quiet despite the treaty ending. Even though at the beginning of the exploration, they were so actively trying to pick a fight.’

Of course, the biggest reason no countries were messing with Sanctuary or Eldoris was the person known as The Void King. The Sanctuary now had its own fourth ranker. Damian Sunblade did not hide to build weapons as most expected; he kept the Mainland’s warriors together and showed them firsthand how he became the youngest fourth-ranker ever. So they could tell their rulers all about it.

As a transcendent, he killed a fourth-ranker, and the runic items he created changed the whole world. The potential of destruction and creation he holds as a fourth-ranker is beyond imagination.

“They are coming,” Theren informed.

Valery and others checked each other one last time. Even though everyone knew what precautions to take, mistakes can happen.

“You already know this, but let me remind you again—behave! The Wyvern King leads one of the biggest regions. Even if their customs are different from ours, he is still a respected leader. So act accordingly.” Lord Tristan reminded everyone.

Valery nodded in acknowledgement with the others. Lord Tristan was the leader of this mission and had spent the most time among the tribesmen. Lord Damian frequently referred to him as Silver-tongued Lord due to his remarkable political acumen.

Two people had worked tirelessly to bring Lord Void King’s vision to life. Lord Tristan and Lady Seraphina. Both of whom had become transcendents by following the elite dungeon-clearing team with Lord Void King, Lord Landbreaker, and other transcendents.

The unprecedented speed and rate of dungeon clearing finally delivered the outcome scholars and mainland warriors had longed for but could never achieve. Since the start of the Exploration Project, a total of five second-ranker transcendent seeds have become new transcendents, excluding Lady Seraphina.

So six in total. Added with Lord Void King becoming a fourth ranker.

Lady Seraphina was actually a first ranker on her third job when they started. Her achievement was almost unreal. But she was Lord Void King’s assistant, and he had kept her with him as far as she could go. She benefited greatly from that and had somehow managed to become a transcendent. She was the envy of every pathfinder Valery knew.

By simply staying with him, one could potentially achieve transcendence. As the rumour spread across the mainland, transcendent seeds sought contact with Sanctum, requesting similar treatment in return for their loyalty.

A group of beastmen in light armor finally reached near them and approached the runic jet with caution. Even though they had been here several times and two of the beastmen were actually friends of theirs in this tribe, they still could not accept an object of so much weird metal bound together, which could somehow fly.

A graceful beauty with deer antlers on her head and a spear in her hand approached them with a smile. Two beastmen were on her side; they were from Sanctuary, their own people who lived in the tribe.

“Lord Tristan, good to see you. Burakh Nu’hanta.” She said, bowing slightly before Lord Tristan. [Burakh Nu’hanta – The shade of my tree, I share with you. / Tribe greeting.]

“Niha’ Sha Marahh,” Lord Tristan replied while nodding slightly at her. [Niha’ Sha Marahh – Thank you for sharing.]

Lora was one of the soldiers they had saved when the Wyvern tribe and Eagle tribe fought a tribe-war over who gets to marry the female peacock Warlord. The peacock tribe lived atop a hill that was in the middle of the two tribe’s territories.

The Wyvern King had won, but the peacock Warlord was assassinated at the very end. That was five years ago. Till this day, the two tribes fight over the hill. The Peacock tribe was split between the two.

Lora acted as the translator for them and led the way to her Wyvern king.

Lord Tristan and Theren could speak the tribe’s language, but the rest barely knew a few words. The least of which was known by Qotus, the empire soldier who was assigned to them by the Research Center Board. In his words, the language was, ’Pisspoor imitation of whining bitches.’

With two transcendents present, the second-ranker spellsword knight wouldn’t dare do anything, but they still had to keep an eye on the bastard. Several times, they had caught him trying to approach local tribal women and offer gold coins for sex. He was the son of one of the Empire’s dukes.

“Welcome,” The Wyvern King’s translator greeted as they entered the giant wooden structure that was the King’s hut.

Every hut had a tree in the center of it. The hut was built around it. For the tribesmen, the tree which they called Nu was very important. Every warrior, when they achieved something great, was given a personal tree. Where he could build his own house, bed women, and have children.

The Nu represented the warrior’s honor. If they lose the land and another warrior claims the tree, the person must die in the revenge war or duel (if the warrior had surrendered), the new owner, and win back the hut to have the claim under the new king.

Nu did not just mean tree, but the women inside and children, other men who were in warrior’s service, all were part of the Nu. Everything was lost when the tribe’s land was conquered.
