The Rule-Breaker of the Doomsday Game

Chapter 481: A New World of Only Sects

"Hiss~" Qi Suian couldn’t help but gasp. A wave of excruciating pain washed over him, making him feel as if he were about to fall apart.

It had to be said, aside from its speed and force, the only other good thing about the simplified version of the translocation technology was its accuracy.

It had no other merits. Qi Suian had even landed headfirst in the ground like an ostrich, and he was struggling to pull himself together.

"Doomsday Game, are you all right?" Qi Suian asked.

His own body had sustained considerable damage from the crash landing, to say nothing of Doomsday Game, which was on its last breath.

He checked on Doomsday Game; it was already fading. Thankfully, it had kept its end of the bargain. Upon entering this unknown world, it had pushed through its weakness to provide concealment for both itself and Qi Suian.

Otherwise, in their condition, they would have been utterly doomed the moment they entered this unknown world.

When Doomsday Game didn’t respond, Qi Suian reached out his greedy hands.

As the saying goes, it’s always better to rely on yourself.

Since Doomsday Game was on the verge of collapse, he might as well take advantage of the situation for his own benefit.

But the moment he touched Doomsday Game, a stream of information was transmitted to him.

The content was simple, bluntly informing Qi Suian that without it, all related effects like his concealment and disguise would vanish.

If he was confident enough to face this unknown world on his own, he could go right ahead. If not, then cooperation was the only true win-win scenario.

Clearly, Doomsday Game had anticipated this move. To avoid being discarded once it had outlived its usefulness, it had made this layer of concealment and disguise its very self.

This was equivalent to Qi Suian being wrapped in Doomsday Game itself.

This would have been impossible before, but the current Qi Suian was a world, so temporarily serving as a host for Doomsday Game was no issue.

"What are you talking about? Am I that kind of person?" Qi Suian withdrew his hand, feeling a pang of regret.

However, while on him, Doomsday Game’s injuries would see almost no recovery.

Especially since it had lost all its survivors. Without those straws and nails, it could only rely on its own power to recover slowly.

As for feeding on Qi Suian’s ’blood’? That was likely impossible. Qi Suian was a world, yes, but only a nascent, undeveloped one. Moreover, he had evolved from a human.

There was simply no room for it to maneuver.

’Once I figure out the technology for translocation, concealment, and disguise, I’ll get rid of it,’ Qi Suian decided.

For now, he still had to rely on Doomsday Game for his disguise. He couldn’t kill it yet, but that was fine. He had plenty of time.

Once Doomsday Game fell silent again, Qi Suian finally began to observe this unknown world.

He didn’t release any satellites; they were of little use to him now. With his perception, he could easily cover the entire... the entire planet.

The entire world, however, was definitely out of the question. His power had grown, but he was still a far cry from being able to encompass a whole world.

This was a cosmos-type world, and the planet he was on wasn’t large; in fact, it seemed rather minuscule.

The ambient energy was also quite thin, and it possessed a powerful corrosive quality.

It was fine as long as one didn’t absorb it. Doing so would lead to assimilation by the energy.

"This world’s Extraordinary system seems a little unusual," Qi Suian noted as his senses picked up on some interesting details.

The humans of this world weren’t purely human; their genes showed signs of a much deeper level of hybridization.

It was because of this hybridization that the humans on this planet possessed the ability to cultivate Extraordinary powers.

Moreover, their cultivation method didn’t involve absorbing external energy. Instead, they generated energy internally by putting pressure on their own cells.

When a cell was perfectly compressed, it would release a massive amount of energy. Whether one could extract all of that energy depended on one’s aptitude.

Those with good aptitude could not only utilize it to the fullest, but their control and application of the energy were also nearly perfect.

As for those with poor aptitude, their cultivation was slow and their combat abilities were lacking.

Qi Suian gave this Extraordinary system, known as Spiritual Technique, a cursory glance and was unimpressed.

The strongest among them could do little more than shatter a wall with their so-called Spiritual Techniques, and even that consumed a vast amount of Spiritual Power. The power ceiling was laughably low.

Unless the hybridization within someone’s body mutated or its concentration increased, their potential would remain capped. A single bullet could end their lives.

Their combat style wasn’t a reckless charge like that of Martial Artists or Warriors. It was more strategic, focused on gaining an advantage through environmental factors, psychology, and so on.

Because their Spiritual Power was derived from compressing their own cells and their personal caps were low, it was very easy for them to reach their maximum Spiritual Power.

Besides, in Qi Suian’s view, it was a self-destructive system. Once their Spiritual Power was depleted, they had to compress more cells to recover it.

The number of times a cell can divide is finite, so overdoing it would naturally lead to an early grave.

As for cancer cells... Qi Suian couldn’t find any. The unknown genetic hybridization in this world’s humans seemed to prevent such mutations from occurring.

Without cancer cells to serve as such prime targets for compression, the efficiency of this method dropped by an untold magnitude.

On the other hand, because of the genetic hybridization, the human cells in this world also seemed to be more resilient to the process.

"I should find a place to lay low," Qi Suian mused, deciding not to cause any trouble.

In his current state, he couldn’t act directly, or he would risk exposing himself.

Of course, "not acting directly" referred to planet- or nation-destroying acts, not to something as trivial as crushing a punk who dared to provoke him.

In fact, if Qi Suian were to act indirectly, there wouldn’t be many problems either.

For example, he was perfectly capable of spreading plagues or committing arson.

It was just that, for Qi Suian, he had now escaped his cage. As long as there was no conflict of interest, he wouldn’t engage in such large-scale slaughter.

Furthermore, his own species and power level were now so high that many things were simply useless to him.

With no conflict of interest, Qi Suian wouldn’t kill indiscriminately.

He wasn’t some homicidal maniac; he wouldn’t act recklessly if there was nothing to be gained.

As for the Tai Sui God... that no longer mattered. What Qi Suian was currently using as a "human skin" was not the original Tai Sui God.

The original Tai Sui God had long been sacrificed as a material component. The current Tai Sui God was more of a disguise.

And all its modules had been analyzed and integrated as part of his internal laws, now just waiting for Qi Suian to organize them.

Therefore, if he wanted to get his AI core back online, he would have to wait until he had finished this sorting process.

His own internal state was a tangled mess. Just sorting through these things would take him three to five years.

"I’ll find a place, open a candy shop, and just lie low," Qi Suian thought. Opening a candy shop in a civilization with low productivity and scarce resources could actually be quite profitable.

As long as he didn’t interfere, the apocalypse shouldn’t arrive so easily.

This world had been chosen by Doomsday Game. Given its objectives, it was almost certain that an apocalypse was looming for humanity here.

It might have already arrived, be in the process of arriving, or have yet to arrive.

In Qi Suian’s opinion, they were likely still in the pre-apocalypse stage, which meant he still had plenty of time.

"But the structure of civilization on this planet is certainly strange."

"There are only sects, with no unified dynasty. The entire planet is controlled by various sects."

"Fortunately, these Spirit Masters only seem to compete amongst themselves and are quite decent to the common folk. Commoners can even pay to hire a Spirit Master for a job."

Qi Suian scanned the area. The number of Spirit Master sects on the planet wasn’t actually that large.

Even the smallest, most fragmented sects occupied territories the size of a city, while the nine strongest sects directly controlled ninety percent of the planet’s surface.

Of course, that was partly because the planet itself was so small.

"I’ll find the strongest sect. The security should be better there." For his own reasons, Qi Suian was preparing to lay low and work on himself.

Once he was done organizing his own systems and adapting, it wouldn’t be too late to go on a killing spree.

Since he was already here, he naturally set his sights on this world. Once he recovered, he planned to use this world as sustenance and devour it whole!

If this long shot paid off, he would surely achieve a meteoric rise and reach his full potential.

In truth, the chaos within him was also because he was still only a nascent world.

A fully developed world wouldn’t have to worry about such problems at all.

He then glanced again at Doomsday Game on his surface, which was now almost fused with the Tai Sui God’s Human Skin.

He still saw great value in Doomsday Game. If it could become his sustenance, it would undoubtedly open up possibilities for further advancement.

According to his speculation, even after developing into a world, one could continue to grow stronger. However, achieving another qualitative leap would not be so easy.

However, he didn’t dwell on these things for now. He was, after all, still just a nascent world. It was too early to be worrying about all that.

"This one, the Yanghuang Sect. Head of the nine great sects under heaven."

Qi Suian quickly made his choice. The Yanghuang Sect not only possessed the greatest military power among Spirit Masters, but its treatment and welfare for the common people were also the best among the major sects.

In particular, the sect’s motto was "people-oriented."

Although that sounded a bit high and mighty, at least they were discreet about their exploitation, not like some who did it out in the open.

This meant that as long as any injustice was brought to light, there was at least a chance for some measure of fairness.

It was very suitable for someone like Qi Suian, who just wanted to lie low and avoid trouble.

The other sects’ territories had their merits, but they were all lacking in some way.

Therefore, Qi Suian could only pick the best of a bad bunch, choosing the sect that was slightly less rotten.

"However, there are quite a few special ecological spaces attached to this planet. These structures are rather interesting."

"If I weren’t so pressed for time, I’d definitely study them properly." Qi Suian had his own mountain of problems to deal with; he had no time to spare.
