The Rule-Breaker of the Doomsday Game

Chapter 479: New Race: World

  • Next Chapter

Two days passed in a flash. Qi Suian looked at the Wind and Thunder Egg and the various large pieces of equipment before him.

The latter, in particular, had consumed a massive amount of his resources. While it hadn’t completely bankrupted him, it was a grievous blow.

If this failed, he wouldn’t be reduced to eating dirt, but he would have to go on a killing spree in the next Doomsday World to gather more resources.

He sutured the Wind and Thunder Egg to his chest. Activating his second consciousness, Qi Suian formed a subtle connection with the Thunder God and the Pseudo-Wind God.

Then, he took out the World Core and, in an extremely crude manner, stuffed it directly into his mouth.

CRUNCH~

With one bite, all the teeth in his mouth shattered.

The World Core was actually incredibly hard; ordinary methods couldn’t damage it at all.

Qi Suian estimated that only special existences, like a world itself or the Doomsday Game, could utilize it directly.

He, of course, was neither of those. So he wasn’t trying to utilize it, but rather to devour and fuse with it directly.

He activated all of his talents—Protagonist’s Halo, Abyssal Virus, Tai Sui God, and more all erupted from him at this moment.

The entire World Core began to slowly merge into his body. At the same time, his own body started to twist and change, as if morphing into a chaotic form.

But in the next moment, an extremely strong force of rejection burst forth from within the World Core.

Qi Suian’s actions were meant to make the World Core disappear completely, transferring all that it was into himself.

How could the World Core not resist? Even if it was ’dead,’ it still contained a vast number of rules.

Qi Suian diverted this rejection through the Wind and Thunder Egg, transferring it directly to the Thunder God and the Pseudo-Wind God.

The two of them, who were in the middle of a fight, both faltered. The sudden backlash knocked them unconscious on the spot.

’The intensity of the backlash is a little too strong...’ Even Qi Suian was struggling to withstand it.

His body had completely lost its normal form. Before, it was amorphous; now, it was a mass of chaos.

An indescribable aura constantly emanated from him, corroding and corrupting everything around him.

Including the World Core.

Although the World Core was resisting, it had no way to fight back against Qi Suian’s devouring and fusion.

Its outermost layer finally shattered, and countless rules surged forth from within.

However, because of Qi Suian’s actions, all these rules were absorbed into his body.

Following his plan, Qi Suian stripped all these rules from his body and compressed them.

The rules were never the main point. What Qi Suian truly needed was the World Core.

It wasn’t the rules that constructed the World Core; it was the World Core that gave birth to the rules.

If he had been dazzled by these rules, he would have been penny-wise and pound-foolish.

So, after dealing with the rules promptly, Qi Suian shifted his focus back to the World Core.

The shattering of the outer layer meant Qi Suian had completed the first stage of the devouring and fusion. From here on, things were basically stable.

When he saw the true heart of the World Core, he found an embryonic seed. As long as Qi Suian devoured and fused with it, his own species would completely transform into a world.

As for how he would develop after that, that was a matter for another time.

The world’s embryonic seed had no ability to resist; after all, it needed the shell of the World Core for protection.

Faced with Qi Suian, it could only be passively devoured.

During this process, every part of Qi Suian began to undergo a higher-level transformation.

The Survivor’s Mark within his body also silently shattered during this process.

This was because Qi Suian was no longer human, but the nascent form of a world.

The survivors of the Doomsday Game could only be human; other species were simply incompatible.

Of course, this wasn’t just because Qi Suian had changed his species. Rather, his fundamental nature had changed, and the Survivor’s Mark was directly destroyed by his body’s new immune system.

He had already been able to sense it before. Now, after this qualitative leap, this ability had naturally grown even stronger.

As he fully fused with the final part of the World Core, Qi Suian completely broke free from the Doomsday Game, becoming a free agent.

But the first thing he had to deal with wasn’t the Doomsday Game, but the scattered rules within his body. Though he had stripped and compressed them, this was not a long-term solution.

Thus, the moment he finished, they erupted, causing countless rules to manifest all over Qi Suian’s body.

At the same time, the entire Sky Island World noticed Qi Suian, this newborn, nascent world.

If Qi Suian hadn’t changed his species, then whether as a rule-breaker or a virus, he would have been just an insignificant figure in the eyes of a world.

It was like a bacterium or virus entering a normal person’s body; the person would rely on their immune system to handle it, or at most, take some medicine.

But now it was different. It was like stuffing one person into another’s body—an absurd situation. How could it possibly go unnoticed?

More importantly, Qi Suian suspected that worlds might cannibalize each other, which meant he had just become a highly nutritious meal for the Sky Island World.

He compressed himself into a human form, then pulled out the Tai Sui God and used it to create a human skin for himself.

"A human appearance still suits me best," Qi Suian remarked with a sigh, suppressing all the rules within him.

As for how he managed to pull out the Tai Sui God that had become a talent, it was simple. It was his own possession to begin with, and after becoming a world, he could simply strip it away.

’There are too many problems right now. It’s hard to even find a safe place to sort myself out.’

Qi Suian knew his troubles were just beginning. Because of him, the Pseudo-Wind God and the Thunder God had begun to merge, forming an even more powerful lifeform.

And it was heading straight for him.

"The world has manifested itself through this Wind and Thunder God." As Qi Suian’s voice fell, the roar of wind and thunder rose in his ears.

This time, it didn’t appear to have its own consciousness, but rather a cold and emotionless demeanor.

Qi Suian struck first. Infused with the Power of the World, he threw a simple, unadorned punch.

With that single punch, the Wind and Thunder God was instantly shattered.

’It’s no good. I can’t bring out my expected strength.’ Qi Suian knew that if his total power was 100, he could currently only exert 0.1 of it.

The main reason was that the changes and gap created by this power-up were simply too vast. In such a short time, it was impossible for him to control this new strength.

According to his estimates, he would need several years at minimum to complete the process of sorting through and adapting to it.

However, even though he could only wield this tiny fraction of his power, it was still far greater than what he had before.

His former self, before becoming a world, wouldn’t even require a punch from his current self—the aura he now exuded alone would be enough to crush him to death.

After being shattered, the Wind and Thunder God didn’t die but instead re-formed.

The Sky Island World had granted it the ability of immortality.

"Pure brute force is actually quite strong, especially combined with my current stats." Qi Suian estimated his stats were around 30 points.

And they would continue to grow. After all, it had been less than two minutes, all told, since he became a world. As a nascent world, his potential for growth was immense.

From this day forward, Qi Suian no longer had to worry about issues like his potential or upper limits. Unless he could devour a world more powerful than himself as sustenance, reaching his limits would not be easy.

The Wind and Thunder God approached Qi Suian again, only to be, unsurprisingly, shattered by another of his punches.

This time, Qi Suian had raised the power of his blow by a level.

The Wind and Thunder God did not recover again. It was as dead as dead could be.

"The top priority now is to prevent the world from detecting me, or the trouble will be endless." Qi Suian quickly extracted modules for shielding, concealment, and the like from the Tai Sui God.

He then found the corresponding rules within himself and modified them to create a special effect that would make him undetectable to the world.

The Wind and Thunder God was dead, but that didn’t mean there wouldn’t be a follow-up.

To the Sky Island World, a mere Wind and Thunder God was nothing. It was simply using whatever materials were at hand.

Qi Suian could sense all the Sky Islands beginning to converge. The next entity to appear would likely be an even stronger lifeform, something like a God of Islands or God of the Sky.

"The difficulty is manageable, it just requires some time."

"But I should use this gap to seize the Doomsday Game’s world-traveling technology." Qi Suian could now directly shatter the Sky Island World and drift across with his physical body.

The problem was, without that technology, Qi Suian had no idea when he might encounter a new world, nor would he have a proper way to invade one.

He would be drifting aimlessly, forced to use brute force upon encountering a world.

The feasibility wasn’t low, but the danger was extremely high.

Qi Suian didn’t know what lay between worlds. Plus, forcing him to clash head-on with a world using brute force was tantamount to suicide.

He was only a nascent world. Fighting against a complete world was no different from an infant facing a grown man in a ring—a guaranteed loss.

It was only because he was currently inside the Sky Island World; if he were on the outside, he wouldn’t even be able to break through its world barrier.

The Doomsday Game’s travel technology, on the other hand, was clearly very refined. If Qi Suian obtained it, he could choose a world to infiltrate, then work from the inside out, using a small force to defeat a larger one.

If he hadn’t been discovered by the Sky Island World, making it impossible to proceed, his first target would have been this very world.

As long as he could devour the Sky Island World, Qi Suian could directly grow from a nascent world into a full-fledged one.

Of course, this would be a long process, but it would not only allow him to plot against the world but also give Qi Suian time to sort through and adapt to his own power. It was killing two birds with one stone.

"But the question is, how do I find the Doomsday Game?"

"My Survivor’s Mark is gone, so I’ll have to find other survivors."

Qi Suian truly didn’t know. He couldn’t sense where the Doomsday Game was, partly because it was well-hidden, and partly because he couldn’t fully control his own power yet.

This made finding it rather troublesome.

But as long as survivors existed, the Doomsday Game couldn’t hide itself completely. With a clue, the rest would be much easier.
