The Rule-Breaker of the Doomsday Game

Chapter 468: Bountiful Harvest and the Recovering Profound Mechanism Wind King

  • Next Chapter

After twenty-four hours of continuous, non-stop bombardment, the last Thunder Spirit and its lightning were absorbed from the Profound Mechanism Wind King’s body. Then, countless torrents of wind began to rise.

To Qi Suian, it felt as though the wind was not only free, but also growing stronger and stronger.

It wasn’t just the Profound Mechanism Wind King that was recovering. The Lords of Wind, Wind Spirits, Windwalkers, and even the Hurricane Beasts all began to show signs of strengthening.

Based on the data, Qi Suian estimated their power would increase by at least fivefold.

After all, the entire Extraordinary system was built upon the wind, with very little cultivation process involved. Therefore, the strength of the wind would naturally amplify the power of the Extraordinary Beings.

"Alright, when are we making a move on the other Wind Kings?" Qi Suian asked.

The Profound Mechanism Wind King didn’t answer immediately. Instead, It was focused on recovering Its strength with all Its might.

After about five minutes, the Profound Mechanism Wind King finally replied.

’In five days. Bring Flying Fish Town to the battlefield as support as soon as possible.’

’Once I succeed, you will be my one and only chosen one.’ As the Profound Mechanism Wind King spoke, Its words and tone became somewhat chaotic.

It seemed to be a side effect of Its power recovering too quickly.

"Let’s not talk about being the chosen one for now. I suggest you first kill those so-called ’survivors.’"

"They come from another world, and behind them is an even more powerful doomsday game."

"If you don’t eliminate them, what if they ruin your plans?"

"Besides, they sided with you to survive. When the Thunder God emerges, it’s highly likely they’ll side with the Thunder God to save their own skins."

"If those survivors, who know a great deal about your system, leak that information to the Thunder God, it will be extremely detrimental to you." Qi Suian struck while the iron was hot, urging the Profound Mechanism Wind King to dispose of all the survivors.

’I still have a use for them. I will deal with them in due time.’ The Profound Mechanism Wind King directly rejected Qi Suian’s proposal.

Qi Suian wasn’t the first to propose the theory that the survivors were a threat. Many Lords of Wind had also expressed that this group from another world couldn’t be trusted.

It was best to nip the threat in the bud.

But the Profound Mechanism Wind King had not accepted a single one of their suggestions.

"I’ve warned you. When things go wrong, don’t come to me to clean up your mess," Qi Suian said bluntly.

’I have my own plan.’ In truth, the Profound Mechanism Wind King had always been wary of the survivors. However, that group of Holy Sanctuary Mages was undeniably strong.

They were the sharpest blade in Its hand, and It needed the help of these Holy Sanctuary Mages to absorb the other Wind Kings.

’It won’t be too late to kill them after I become the Wind God.’

Just as Qi Suian and the Lords of Wind had said, the survivors came from another world. If they could surrender to It, they could naturally surrender to others.

Combined with the mysterious existence behind them, they were a massive hidden danger.

But the Profound Mechanism Wind King simply didn’t have any extra military force to spare.

The Lords of Wind were more suited for leadership and command, the Wind Spirits had a relatively low power ceiling, and while the Hurricane Beasts were powerful, they couldn’t exist apart from the wind.

As for the Windwalkers, the Profound Mechanism Wind King ignored them completely. They were basically just armories, their strength even lower than that of the Wind Spirits.

This made the Mages among the suddenly-arrived survivors an extremely useful type of troop.

This was especially true for the Mages who had survived the crucible of war; both their strength and their combat experience were exceptionally rich.

Qi Suian didn’t press the issue. Saying something like that once was enough; there was no need to repeat it.

Otherwise, it would only be counterproductive.

After the Wind King left, Qi Suian began to retract all his fiber bodies.

Once everything was taken care of, Qi Suian turned his attention to his module slots.

The gains were substantial. His armor value reached 191 points, and he completed five evolutions, granting him five new module slots.

Logically, he should have chosen a cycle of Energy Modules and material modules to maximize the boost from his Legendary Equipment Stone set modules.

But this time, he had gained so many module slots that there was no need to do so.

"Aiming, locking, positioning, tracking, monitoring."

Qi Suian quickly selected five modules based on his original plan. There might be some overlap between them.

But to Qi Suian, they were extremely useful.

Whether for observation, combat, or any other purpose, they would provide Qi Suian with sufficient information.

At his current power level, observational data was actually more important. While these modules seemed to be for combat at first glance, they actually had significant uses in all aspects.

This would be a great help in acquiring the World Core. It would also allow him to perfectly time his devouring and fusion process.

Nowadays, many things had to be put aside for projects related to the World Core, even the Legendary Equipment Stone set modules.

[SSS·Intelligent Photonic Guidance System]

[SSS·Energy Lock-On Sensor Array]

[SSS·Super-Energy Spatial Positioning Matrix]

[SSS·Universal Trajectory Tracking Device]

[SSS·Environment-Adaptive Monitoring Device]

With five new modules equipped, Qi Suian felt his vision undergo another earth-shattering change. Everything he saw transformed into rules and data.

Beyond that, a series of macro- and microscopic trajectories formed dense, complex processes before his eyes.

His AI-brain integrated it all, generating complete trajectory reports.

"I can even clearly see the trajectory of my protagonist’s halo." Qi Suian’s gaze fell upon the fourteen-layered Column of Fortune on his body.

He could feel his luck spreading into the distance, constantly extending outward as if it were drawing something toward him.

"A guaranteed hit?"

Qi Suian made a casual gesture, and a Dark Energy Beam curved from in front of him to behind him.

It precisely struck a cyclone behind him.

"Rule-level, I suppose."

"Then what if I wanted to hit a world where danger could never occur?" Qi Suian muttered. A stream of polymorphic energy appeared in his hand, transforming into a streak of light and shooting straight forward.

It did not hit its target as he willed.

"Alright, I guess it’s not that ridiculously overpowered."

"It requires data and is subject to energy decay. It’s not a guaranteed hit, just extremely accurate."

No matter how strong he was, he couldn’t ignore the law of conservation of energy.

Even Extraordinary powers that defied common sense couldn’t do that; otherwise, he would simply be invincible.

And truly invincible, at that. After all, if you can ignore the conservation of energy, what can’t you ignore?

"The combat assistance is significant, too. For both close-quarters and long-range combat, one just requires me to charge forward and throw a punch, while the other just needs me to fire a polymorphic Dark Energy Beam. I don’t have to worry about the rest."

"Especially for ranged attacks. They already have a speed buff. For melee, I still have to get close to the enemy, but with ranged, I can skip that step."

As for throwing a punch from a distance and letting the force of the blow crush the enemy, that counted as a ranged attack, but its power was inferior to the polymorphic Dark Energy Beam. So, there was no need to waste the effort.

The final outcome of a battle was one of two things: capturing the enemy or killing the enemy.

Qi Suian usually opted for the latter, unless he needed a test subject. Otherwise, there was no ’after’.

"Now, to continue with my plan." Qi Suian’s gaze fell on the wisp of wind he had obtained from the Profound Mechanism Wind King.

Looking at it again, he obtained a new set of data.

When you look at the world from a different perspective, the world itself changes.

And Qi Suian had so many perspectives.

"By that logic, does this mean I can observe more data from the Wind and Thunder Egg as well?"

Qi Suian knew that the more thoroughly he researched, the higher the chance of his plan’s success.

"And beyond that, probably the World Core, too." Qi Suian did not take out either of these two items.

The wisp of wind in his hand was the Profound Mechanism Wind King, so the World Core and the Wind and Thunder Egg could not appear at the same time as it.

The Wind and Thunder Egg was placed in his Subspace Pocket, while the World Core was in the Multi-Dimensional Folding Space.

As for this wisp of wind, it received the worst treatment. Qi Suian kept it around when it was useful and shielded it when it wasn’t.

"I’m glad you’re busy, Profound Mechanism Wind King. Otherwise, I really wouldn’t have time to continue my research," Qi Suian said casually.

However, the Profound Mechanism Wind King didn’t respond. It was busy and not paying attention to Qi Suian, so It naturally didn’t hear what he said.

This was not the time to be wary of Qi Suian, but to recover Its strength as quickly as possible.

There’s an old saying: "You can be a thief for a thousand days, but you can’t guard against one for a thousand days."

-----------------

The three great Holy Sanctuary Mages gathered together. The leader, Great Arcanist Georg, was the first to speak. "The Wind King is preparing to make its move. What are your thoughts?"

The other two, Elemental Master Nieren and the Prophet Edwin, contemplated this for a moment.

"Just now, the power of the wind was constantly increasing. It is recovering," the Elemental Master said first.

As a Holy Sanctuary Mage who excelled with the elements, he was extremely sensitive to them, so he had naturally detected the change in the wind immediately.

The Prophet then said, "Death is approaching. Perhaps it is related to the doomsday of the doomsday game."

"The Profound Mechanism Wind King does not have a high chance of victory."

The other two gave the Prophet’s words great weight.

The three of them represented the three domains of Mages: Arcane, Elemental, and Prophecy.

The first two domains had their advantages in creation and destruction, but they never underestimated the seemingly powerless domain of prophecy.

"Are you referring to the thunder element that is gradually erupting?" the Elemental Master asked.

As Holy Sanctuary Mages, they were naturally aware of the matter concerning the Thunder God.

However, they hadn’t spread this information. Instead, they were investigating it secretly among themselves.

But the intelligence they had gathered was very limited, so they didn’t know much.

"It’s not just the Thunder God. There seems to be a hidden hand at a deeper level pulling the strings."

"But that person’s fate is too dense. I simply cannot see through it. If I delve too deeply, I even suffer a backlash," the Prophet stated bluntly.

"Let’s put that aside for now. The Wind King wants us to lead all the Mages into a final, decisive battle. What do you think?" the Great Arcanist brought the topic back.

"We fight! This is the chance for survival that fate has given us." The Prophet gave an answer that stunned the other two.
