The Rule-Breaker of the Doomsday Game
Chapter 438: This Is My Style of Saving People, and If You Don't Like It, You Can Hold It In
When Britney awoke from unconsciousness, the first thing she felt was weakness, followed by a heavy, groggy feeling in her head.
All she remembered was meeting a Demon Hunter from the Church. They had barely spoken a few words before she was tied up, and then she had dazedly lost consciousness.
Now that she was awake again, she found she was still bound. Her surroundings, however, had changed completely.
She was no longer in the forest outside Villerlis Town, but in the castle that had once belonged to her Villeries family.
Her first thought, therefore, was that she had been recaptured.
As for the man she suspected was a fake Demon Hunter, he had likely been killed by the Piercing Demon.
But she quickly noticed that something was off.
Because she saw three extremely familiar monsters hanging upside down beside her—they were the Piercing Demon's Blood Race brides.
Her own situation was slightly better. Though still bound, she wasn't hanging; she'd been placed in a chair.
The man she believed to be a fake Demon Hunter from the Church was fiddling with a doll.
Yet, to Britney, the doll seemed to be alive.
The thought had barely formed in her mind when the doll suddenly turned its head, seemingly peering right into her thoughts.
"That's right, I am alive." The doll suddenly spoke, giving Britney a terrible fright.
"Good, you're awake. I have a few questions for you." Qi Suian casually pushed the Demonic Puppet forward, sending it right in front of Britney.
"Just who are you? A Demon Hunter from the Church?" Britney asked, her expression grave.
She had seen the Piercing Demon before, and Qi Suian was nothing like him. Neither his appearance nor his aura bore any resemblance to the Piercing Demon.
"Who I am isn't important. What matters is that you're from the Villeries family," Qi Suian said, then sat back down, clearly having no intention of answering further questions.
The Demonic Puppet spoke at the same time. "You are Britney Villeries, the Legitimate Eldest Daughter of the Villeries. Do you know your ancestor's secret?"
The question drilled into Britney's mind like a demonic incantation, bringing with it an impulse she couldn't resist.
"Our ancestor has always protected the Villeries family. He has always been here," Britney said involuntarily.
"Then where is he?" the Demonic Puppet asked.
"He is in the castle." Britney desperately wanted to stop herself from speaking further, and a look of terror spread across her face.
Yet she couldn't control the burgeoning affection and desire welling up inside her. Right now, she wanted nothing more than to snatch the Demonic Puppet into her arms and ravage it, an impulse constrained only by the tight ropes binding her.
If not for the ropes, she wouldn't have cared where she was; she would have grabbed the Demonic Puppet in an instant.
"Where in the castle?" the Demonic Puppet pressed.
"I don't know." Here, Britney was telling the truth, so she said honestly, "My brother knew, but he's already been killed by the Piercing Demon's dark power."
"This secret will disappear with the fall of the Villeries family." A smile finally touched Britney's lips as she said this.
She didn't know. So no matter how they controlled her, she couldn't possibly leak the secret.
"Master, she isn't lying. If she really knew, the Piercing Demon would have gotten it out of her long ago." The Demonic Puppet's head swiveled a full three hundred and sixty degrees to face Qi Suian as it spoke.
Qi Suian had expected as much.
After all, his method of triggering this plotline was unorthodox, so it was never going to be that easy.
'The normal plot progression would have been for me to go through life and death with Britney, narrowly outmaneuvering the Piercing Demon, and winning her heart in the process.'
'Then, at the critical moment, I'd solve the secret, painstakingly kill the Piercing Demon, and achieve a perfect, happy ending.'
'This story arc was originally meant for the Daywalker.'
'But now it was my turn. I'm more of a final boss than the Piercing Demon, a heartless, chaotic evil type to boot.'
'This has caused the plot to completely derail.'
Of course, even a derailed plot has its own set of rules.
If Qi Suian were more sadistic, he could engage in a series of R-rated activities to induce Stockholm Syndrome in her, which would also achieve his goal of controlling her.
But that held no meaning for Qi Suian.
Both physiological and psychological stimulation were just hormonal sensations. If he wanted them, he could synthesize them himself.
"What a pity. That makes you much less valuable," Qi Suian sighed.
She didn't know. Even if Qi Suian tortured her, she still wouldn't know, and she couldn't tell him what she didn't know.
"Alright, just stay put for now. Wait for the Daywalker to come for you." Qi Suian didn't give the matter much more thought.
"You want to use me as bait to set a trap for the Sect Leader? I'll never let you succeed!" Britney's expression changed drastically.
Qi Suian was left speechless by her wild assumption.
"How could that be? The Daywalker is my dearest friend. Why would I set a trap for him?" Qi Suian denied it without a moment's hesitation.
He didn't, however, deny his intention to kill the Daywalker.
"The Daywalker truly sent me to rescue you. He paid a hefty price for it, too."
"Honestly, I think he has a crush on you. Why else would he be so generous?" Qi Suian teased.
"And you call this a rescue???" Britney was completely unconvinced.
'Who rescues someone by kidnapping and interrogating them? This is insane.'
Qi Suian rolled his eyes. "He only told me to save you. You just have to be alive."
"I'm already being considerate by not leaving you with missing limbs. What more could you want?"
He said this with utter confidence. The only reason he was "rescuing" her at all was because the Daywalker had paid him handsomely.
"Alright, I'm going to hang you up to rest for a bit. I have some things to take care of."
"Don't worry, I keep my promises. I won't let you starve." With that, Qi Suian hauled her up into the air and turned to leave.
"Wait! What am I going to eat?" Britney came to her senses and asked hastily.
Qi Suian glanced back and answered, "A nutrient solution. I'll have Fei inject it for you."
Nutrient solutions had many benefits. The most basic were easy absorption and high nutritional value, which meant she wouldn't need to excrete at all.
This way, he wouldn't have to worry about her soiling herself even if she was hanging there for three to five months. He mainly did this because he had no idea when the Daywalker and his army would arrive.
This was the only way to handle it for now.
Then, he took down the three Blood Race brides and dragged them into the adjacent laboratory.
He planned to dissect the Blood Race brides while simultaneously copying all the rule data from the Corpse Hand, Demonic Puppet, and Illusion Mirror.
"Honestly, you people have absolutely no sense of hygiene," Qi Suian said, tossing the three Blood Race brides aside as he began to clean the place up.
The room was littered with all sorts of things: dried flesh, desiccated blood, and withered, stillborn fetuses.
Qi Suian was highly suspicious. How on earth could the Piercing Demon and his three Blood Race brides produce so many stillborns?
Even if they were from the Blood Race, they should still have to follow the human standard of a ten-month gestation period.
Even with ten per litter, it wouldn't add up to this many.
"Kill us... We don't want to be lost to desire..." one of the Blood Race brides said in agony.
It was an instinctive wail. Controlled by the Piercing Demon, they had been twisted into these monstrous forms, neither human nor ghost.
"I can, but not now. I need your cooperation first," Qi Suian said calmly.
"Insolent human! I am a bride of the Piercing Demon! How dare you be so disrespectful!" her tone suddenly shifted, becoming sharp and arrogant.
Qi Suian ignored her. Her sense of self had first been twisted by the Piercing Demon, and now she was being controlled by Qi Suian using the Ghost Lamp and Soul Ring. It was inevitable that her Spirit and mind would be unstable.
Speaking incoherently and contradicting herself was a normal side effect.
If her logic was clear and her sense of self was intact, now *that* would be a problem.
Qi Suian quickly finished cleaning up and set up a temporary laboratory, placing one of the Blood Race brides directly onto the operating table.
After restraining her with polymorphic energy, he began the dissection.
'Just as I thought, they have the same vitality as a stitched monster. But since they were converted from living people, they're actually closer to the Daywalker than to a stitched monster.'
'It's just that compared to the Daywalker's perfect form, these Blood Race brides are far too crude.'
-----------------
Piercing Demon Dracula had escaped, but his expression was one of extreme resentment.
He had been one step too slow. Not only had he failed to retrieve the Blood Race Sacred Artifact, but he hadn't even been able to take his three Blood Race brides with him.
His opponent was stronger than him. This time, he had truly miscalculated.
'If I had known it would turn out like this, I never should have refused the Blood Bath Queen's invitation.'
'I remember the Blood Bath Queen giving me intel on this human thief. I didn't look at it closely, but I knew he wasn't this powerful back then.'
'The only way he could be this powerful now is if he killed the Blood Bath Queen and plundered her power.'
'That must be why he's targeting me now.'
"There's still a chance... the Cursed Child... the Daywalker... He perfectly combines the powers of my father and Abel."
"If I can get his blood, I can succeed!"
In truth, the Piercing Demon had targeted the Daywalker a long time ago, but he had been too tied up with other matters to act.
Well, now he had no choice but to break away.
After all, that human thief had completely ruined all his plans.
Without the Blood Race Sacred Artifact and a descendant of the Villeries family, he had no chance of success.
Therefore, his only option was to shift his focus to the Daywalker.
The Daywalker was indeed powerful, but still far weaker than him. Capturing him wouldn't be difficult.
It was a shame the Daywalker was a man, and so was he. Otherwise, the Daywalker would have made the perfect Blood Race bride.
"Just wait until I complete my metamorphosis. Then I'll be back to kill you." The Piercing Demon glanced back toward Villerlis Town. It was the first time he had ever suffered such a miserable defeat.
But this didn't discourage him. On the contrary, the pressure gave him even greater motivation.
If he were truly that fragile, he wouldn't have been the aloof, untouchable Piercing Demon he was before meeting Qi Suian.
