Seeing Chen Erbao shoot her a strange look, Bai Xiaoqing wished the ground would open up and swallow her whole.

'This is a complete and utter public humiliation!'

"Zhiqing, I heard Er Bao came to the city today. Why don't you give him a call and ask if he wants to get together tonight!"

Thinking fast, Bai Xiaoqing quickly changed the subject.

"He's in the city today? He didn't tell me..."

Lin Zhiqing murmured in confusion outside the door, then picked up her phone, ready to call Chen Erbao.

Chen Erbao's face changed. He quickly pulled his own phone from his pocket and frantically mashed the volume down button.

He shot Bai Xiaoqing a vicious glare.

'This woman! She nearly got me killed!'

Sure enough, just as the volume hit its lowest, a call notification appeared on his screen.

Chen Erbao hung up without hesitation and started typing a message with both hands.

"What's up, baby?"

"Er Bao, you're in the city today?"

"Yeah, I had to meet a real estate boss today to discuss the security company. I wasn't sure if I'd be free tonight, so I didn't tell you."

"Oh, I see... Well, in that case, never mind. If you're free tonight, remember to come find me!"

Seeing the cute and playful sticker Lin Zhiqing sent in the message, Chen Erbao let out a deep sigh of relief.

"Zhiqing, could you check if the finance department has finished the reports? If they have, please grab them for me. I need them for a meeting tomorrow morning."

Bai Xiaoqing, ever the highly educated elite, proved her mental fortitude was no joke. She had quickly found another excuse.

This time, Lin Zhiqing didn't object and left the office.

The two people inside the secret room simultaneously let out a long sigh of relief.

"Uh... I'll be going now?"

Chen Erbao asked awkwardly, looking at Bai Xiaoqing, who was using her clothes to cover her vital spots.

Bai Xiaoqing remained silent, her head lowered.

Seeing this, Chen Erbao could only rub his nose in resignation. He gave a couple of awkward laughs, carefully opened the door, and seeing the office empty, darted out of the room.

After leaving Bai Xiaoqing's office, Chen Erbao activated his Misty Step. He flew down the emergency stairwell, reached the ground floor in just over ten seconds, and ran toward the parking lot.

'Get out of here first. The rest can be dealt with later!'

Just as Chen Erbao was speeding through the factory grounds, behind a certain window in the office building, a delicate face, seen in profile, was streaked with tears.

Chen Erbao, not caring that he had been drinking that afternoon, slammed his foot on the accelerator of his Land Rover and left the factory complex, driving aimlessly along the streets.

He had a nagging feeling that something was wrong, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

'Whatever,' he thought. 'I've got nothing else to do. I'll go find Yiyi and grab a bite.'

Halfway there, he suddenly felt like a scumbag for doing this, so he gave Lin Zhiqing a call instead.

"Zhiqing Baby?"

"Er Bao, are you free now?"

Lin Zhiqing's voice was as sweet and playful as ever; he couldn't detect anything unusual.

"I'm free! I have to be free. I'll come pick you up from the factory in a bit?"

"No need, just come straight to the dorms. We can pick up Sister Xiaoqing, and we can all go to Dongcheng District for lamb hot pot, how about that?"

"No problem!"

Chen Erbao turned the car around and headed for the dorms.

By the time he arrived, the sky had already started to grow dim.

Chen Erbao immediately spotted Lin Zhiqing and Bai Xiaoqing standing by the side of the road.

One was pure and lively, the other sophisticated and elegant. Just by standing there, they created a beautiful scene.

"Baby, I'm here!"

"The weather's gotten so cold recently. Here, feel my hand!"

Lin Zhiqing hopped into the passenger seat and offered her chilly little hand to Chen Erbao. Chen Erbao glanced at Bai Xiaoqing in the back, who looked slightly unnatural, then smiled and took the delicate hand.

"We've got nothing to do tonight. I'll take you shopping for some clothes."

"Yay!"

Chen Erbao started the car and drove toward the lamb hot pot restaurant in Dongcheng District.

"I heard this restaurant has been around for years. I've been wanting to try it for ages!"

"Oh, right, Er Bao, my second uncle said that if your factory wants to expand, Medicine King Hall happens to have some out-of-province factory buildings they aren't using. You can just take them over then!"

The hot pot restaurant was crowded, but Chen Erbao had made a reservation, so the three of them didn't have to wait and went straight to a private room.

"Xiaoqing, once the security company is established, I'm going to set up a corporate group. I hope you'll be my group's CEO!"

Chen Erbao nodded. "Zhiqing, once Sister Xiaoqing is in charge of the group, I'll put you in charge of the factory here. How does that sound?"

Lin Zhiqing hesitated for a moment, then looked up at Chen Erbao and broke into a brilliant smile.

"Okay! I'll definitely manage the company well for you, as long as you're not afraid of me secretly building up my own little slush fund!"

"Hahaha, build it up all you want. I earn money for you to spend."

Chen Erbao waved his hand dismissively.

He not only trusted Lin Zhiqing's character and the relationship between them, but he trusted the bond forged by the Joyful Technique and the Pure Maiden Divine Skill even more!
