The Rogue Villager Chen Erbao
Chapter 264: Battle at the Steel Mill (3)
"Die!"
Gu Li's muscles swelled. Already standing over 1.8 meters tall, he now seemed to have grown a full size larger, his height reaching two meters. His cleaver sliced through the air with a threatening WHOOSH.
His monstrous strength was terrifying. He bulldozed his way through the jungle of steel and miscellaneous machinery, charging straight for Xia Qingxue.
Xia Qingxue didn't dare to face him head-on. With that sharp blade and extreme violence, a single graze would mean injury, a direct hit, death!
THWAP! THWAP! THWAP!
Like an ape, Xia Qingxue grabbed the iron beams overhead, swinging from one to the next with the agility of a pouncing rabbit and diving falcon, dodging the killer behind her.
The longer the chase went on, the angrier Gu Li became. The surrounding environment severely restricted the use of his long blade, and Xia Qingxue's Qinggong was simply too good. For the moment, he couldn't catch her!
After chasing her around the steel framework for several laps, Gu Li hurled his long blade aside, drew the pistol from his waist, and fired targeted shots at Xia Qingxue.
It wasn't that pistols were useless against Ancient Martial Artists; it just depended on who was using them.
While an Ancient Martial Artist could predict an enemy's movements and evade tactically, that too depended on the person they were facing!
In Gu Li's hands, the bullets' trajectories grazed Xia Qingxue's body, several times leaving bloody scratches on her skin.
"Chen Sheng, are you just going to stand there?"
Having emptied his clip, Gu Li turned and roared at the black-robed man who was watching the show from a distance.
The black-robed man heard him and replied, displeased, "There are more people behind us. I have to watch them..."
"Fuck you... Keep calling for backup! Get everyone in the Banna District here! I want them all to die here today!"
"I already did. Don't worry, they'll be here soon!"
Chen Sheng, his face hidden beneath his robe, turned to look behind him. Three figures were rapidly approaching.
The two Stewards besieging Song Yao, as well as Gu Li, also noticed the change, and their expressions grew urgent.
"Stop them!"
Gu Li shouted, climbing up the steel frame bare-handed in hot pursuit of Xia Qingxue.
He had just started climbing when his pupils suddenly contracted. He ducked instinctively as several Silver Needles flew past, grazing his scalp.
"You tricky little bitch! Just wait until I get my hands on you, I'll make you wish you were dead!"
He cursed resentfully, snatched a short iron rod from the ground, and continued the chase.
Meanwhile, Song Yao was in a precarious situation, besieged by the two Stewards.
A long gash had been cut across her lower abdomen, and blood was seeping out. Her hair was a mess, and new wounds kept appearing on her arms.
But even in such peril, her eyes remained incredibly bright. She wielded her long whip in an impenetrable defense, its pure iron tip leaving a series of white marks as it clanged against the surrounding metal walls.
The two Stewards fought with wide, sweeping movements, but for a time, they couldn't break through Song Yao's whip defense and could only dodge her attacks.
"Just hold on a little longer! She's almost out of stamina!"
one of the burly men said coldly.
Chen Sheng, hiding off to the side, reached into his black robes and, to one's surprise, pulled out a sniper rifle.
It was a mystery how he had hidden such a large gun in his clothes.
He set up the rifle, aimed at the area behind him, and his breathing steadied.
Hua Yueqing leaped continuously, weaving through the machinery. She could already see Song Yao struggling to hold on and the disheveled Xia Qingxue.
"Hurry, save them!"
The words had barely left her mouth when a chill shot through her heart, and she instinctively ducked her head.
BANG!
The dull crack of the sniper rifle echoed through the factory as an explosive-tipped bullet skimmed over Hua Yueqing's head and pierced a tin can behind her.
"Sniper!"
She quickly dove for cover while shouting a warning to Chen Fang and Lu Mountain behind her.
"Who goes there? How dare you interfere in the affairs of my Celestial God Sect?"
Seeing his shot had missed, Chen Sheng wasn't flustered. He asked the question in a loud, clear voice.
"Hmph! Hua Yueqing of the Security Bureau... Surrender now, and I'll spare your life!"
"Hahahahaha... The Security Bureau! It really is you! I've been waiting a long time for you lot. A pack of the Court's running dogs—you all deserve to die!"
Chen Sheng laughed in fury, firing two more shots in Hua Yueqing's direction.
"Today, it's not just these two little bitches who are going to die. You're dying here too!"
"Boss Hua, this isn't looking good... It's like they knew we were coming. I'll go out and draw his attention. You lay down suppressive fire, and we'll charge!"
The three of them huddled behind cover, having agreed on a plan.
Hua Yueqing and Lu Mountain drew their pistols, and one of them kicked a black iron can out into the open.
BANG!
The iron can was sent flying in mid-air by a sniper round. The next moment, Chen Fang shot out like a phantom, his feet moving in an intricate footwork pattern as he dashed forward.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Chen Sheng fired several shots at Chen Fang, but they all missed. Before he could aim again, Hua Yueqing and Lu Mountain darted out from cover, unleashing a hail of pistol fire at his position.
The dense barrage of bullets pinned Chen Sheng down, forcing him to keep his head low. Sparks flew continuously from the steel plate where he was positioned.
Hua Yueqing and Lu Mountain advanced, firing as they went.
Meanwhile, Chen Fang was rapidly closing in on Chen Sheng's position.
"Hah!"
With a thunderous shout, a gust of wind rushed past Chen Sheng's ear. He instinctively dropped the sniper rifle and threw up his arms to block.
Accompanied by a fierce gale, a whip-like kick, hard as steel, smashed toward Chen Sheng's face.
Chen Sheng blocked it with his forearms, his body not moving an inch. He then grabbed Chen Fang's leg, his five fingers squeezing with sudden force, intending to snap the young man's calf in two.
Chen Fang stomped down hard with his other foot, launching himself into the air. His toes, like the tip of a blade, jabbed toward Chen Sheng's chest.
Seeing this, Chen Sheng had no choice but to retreat and dodge.
"Poking Foot?"
"Heh. That's right."
After the brief exchange, they leaped apart, facing each other from a distance of ten meters.
At such a close range, firearms were useless.
Just then, Hua Yueqing and Lu Mountain arrived.
"Chen Fang, go help the one with the whip. Lu Mountain, go help Xia Qingxue. This one's mine."
Hua Yueqing's usually cool face was filled with excitement. She cracked her knuckles, eager for a fight, as she gave the orders.
"Yes, ma'am!"
The two responded in unison and charged past Chen Sheng.
Chen Sheng tried to block them, but the moment he moved, Hua Yueqing closed in and engaged him.
"Your opponent is me!"
Her agile figure leaped high into the air before she dove down, two military daggers striking like vipers at Chen Sheng's throat.
Chen Sheng calmly retreated, then drew the Dagger from his waist and met her attack without a trace of fear.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
The military daggers and the Dagger clashed repeatedly in mid-air, creating a shower of sparks. Both fighters were incredibly fast, and their first exchange immediately became a tangled brawl. For a moment, they seemed evenly matched.
Lu Mountain was tall and powerfully built. He ran like an ancient beast, the steel plates groaning under his weight as he charged toward the two Stewards.
