The Rogue Villager Chen Erbao

Chapter 248: None of Your Business, Get Lost

  • Next Chapter

Chen Erbao had no time to care what others thought. He focused his attention, slowly scanning the raw stones before him with his Divine Sense, sensing the fluctuations of Spiritual Qi.

He didn't have to walk far before he finally spotted another Spirit-Containing Object.

Just as he was about to call a staff member over to ask for the price, a hurried voice suddenly called out from beside him, "I'll buy that stone!"

Chen Erbao froze and turned to look. He saw a young man of average build with delicate features and fine skin. His eyes were particularly striking, the corners tilting up slightly. His gaze lacked masculine vigor, holding a hint of feminine charm instead.

He was incredibly pretty!

It might seem inappropriate to describe a man as "pretty," but this young man truly gave off a strange vibe.

Chen Erbao's brow furrowed.

The young man was pointing directly at the raw stone Chen Erbao was about to buy.

'Swooping in to snatch it?'

Chen Erbao stared at him, his expression turning hostile.

The young man, however, spared Chen Erbao a glance. "Sir, why are you staring at me?"

He had been following Chen Erbao for much of the morning and had finally found an opportunity to cut in.

"What do you think you're doing?"

Chen Erbao asked in a cold voice.

The young man spread his hands, his face a mask of innocence. "I don't mean anything. I'm not sure what you mean, sir. Do we know each other?"

'Anyone can play dumb!'

Seeing the other man's shameless act, Chen Erbao laughed in anger.

"What's your name?"

He wasn't about to let this go.

The young man chuckled. "What, planning to get revenge later? Listen up. My name is Xie Yuan, of the Lijiang Xie Family. Make sure you don't get lost trying to find us!"

'So he's a local!'

Hearing this, Chen Erbao stepped aside, his face devoid of expression.

The surrounding tycoons chuckled and stood aside, ready to watch the show.

They were secretly hoping the two would come to blows, just to add a bit of excitement to their boring lives.

Seeing Chen Erbao walk away, Xie Yuan sneered inwardly.

'This kid won't be alive much longer, and he still dares to offend me!'

When Xie Yuan saw Chen Erbao flagrantly cutting open one good piece of jade after another that morning, he already knew how it would end for him.

As a Lijiang native, how could he not know how this Gambling Stone Factory operated?

Every year, some unlucky bastards who didn't know their place were thrown into the Lijiang River, left to drift with the churning waters out to the ocean. In his eyes, Chen Erbao was destined for the same fate.

'It's a shame. If I could get this man to work for me, then in the future...'

Just as Xie Yuan was lost in this pleasant fantasy, he heard a rush of air by his ear. He instinctively turned his head, and his vision went black. His entire body was sent flying sideways, crashing down in the raw stone area and slamming his abdomen against a rock.

Everyone around was stunned.

They hadn't even seen what happened. They just heard a loud CRACK, and the next thing they knew, Xie Yuan was on the ground with a bloody face.

Looking over, they saw Chen Erbao standing not far away, holding a wooden stool and radiating a murderous aura.

"..."

No one said a word. The entire room fell silent.

Even Wang Mian was terrified.

'This has gotten out of hand!'

Now that Chen Erbao had resorted to violence, the nature of the situation had completely changed.

A mighty dragon can't crush a local snake. The Xie Family's power in Lijiang was deeply entrenched. They were local titans, and for hundreds of miles around, few dared to cross them.

"You..."

It took Xie Yuan a long moment to come to his senses. His face throbbed with a fiery pain.

He struggled to his feet, pointing a trembling finger at Chen Erbao, his face a mask of utter disbelief.

In all his years in Lijiang, no one had ever dared to strike him.

Seeing that things had gone south, Cao Yang's subordinates quickly moved to surround them.

"Mr. Xie! What happened?"

"Where's Boss Cao? I want to see Boss Cao!"

Xie Yuan's voice trembled as he spoke.

Elsewhere, Cao Yang had already received the news and was stunned.

'This outsider is arrogant, isn't he? Daring to attack someone, and the Young Master of the Xie Family, no less.'

'Maybe I won't have to get my hands dirty. If the Xie Family makes a move, I won't have to face the pressure from Medicine King Hall all by myself.'

Medicine King Hall had operated in China for many years, with its influence reaching every industry imaginable. Even in a small, remote city like Lijiang, their name was known by all.

If he could help it, Cao Yang didn't want to face Medicine King Hall's pressure either. With the Xie Family on the front lines, he could watch the tigers fight from a safe distance, even if Medicine King Hall decided to strike.

Besides, even if Medicine King Hall was relentless, the power backing him was no mere decoration. At worst, he could just disappear, like that Yang Bo from the Jinsha River did back in the day.

Even the Security Bureau hadn't been able to catch that Yang Bo.

So what chance did Medicine King Hall have?

The Triangle Zone was a melting pot of all walks of life. Once he disappeared into it, who would ever be able to find him?

After the heat died down, he could just get a new identity and swagger right back to continue his life as a local powerhouse.

But for now, since this had happened in his factory, he had to give the Xie Family an explanation. It was also the perfect opportunity to test Chen Erbao's mettle.

With this in mind, Cao Yang beckoned to Yang Bo behind him. "Come on. Let's go see just what kind of Divine Abilities this mighty river-crossing dragon has!"

Yang Bo, a sturdy man with a calm expression, nodded and followed Cao Yang out.

When the two of them arrived, they saw Chen Erbao from a distance, lightly patting Xie Yuan's cheek. "Who the hell do you think you are?" he said mockingly. "A piece of trash like you tries to snatch something from me? I'll give you a chance. Go get your people. Call anyone and everyone you can!"

One of Xie Yuan's cheeks was red and swollen. He just stammered, not daring to say a word.

'Discretion is the better part of valor!'

Rage and hatred burned in his heart, driving him to the brink of madness. But the pain wracking his body was a constant reminder that this man didn't play by the rules. He would strike without a moment's hesitation.

He suppressed the hatred in his heart, his fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white. He didn't even notice his nails digging deep into his palms.

Cao Yang quickly walked over, his brow furrowed. "Who has the gall to start a fight in my establishment?" he said, his voice like ice. "This is a slap in my face!"

He walked closer, feigning surprise. "Isn't this Young Master Xie... Who hit you? Young Master Xie, I will make them pay for this!"

Seeing Cao Yang arrive, Xie Yuan finally breathed a sigh of relief. He retreated a few steps to stand beside Cao Yang. "Boss Cao, this out-of-towner is incredibly arrogant! He attacked me without a word... You have to do something about this!"

Cao Yang turned to Chen Erbao, putting on a troubled expression. "Mr. Chen, what's the meaning of this?"

Chen Erbao shot him a glance and waved his hand dismissively. "This has nothing to do with you. Piss off."

"..."

As soon as he said that, no one could remain calm.

The onlookers instinctively took a few steps back, afraid they'd soon be splattered with blood.

'Picking a fight in someone else's territory, and being this disrespectful on top of it!'

'What a badass!'

Everyone was thinking it. They felt like they were in for one hell of a show today.

When Cao Yang heard this, his face turned ashen. He had imagined all sorts of reactions from Chen Erbao, but he never expected to be told to piss off.

Told to get lost with a casual wave of the hand, as if he were shooing away a fly!

'Do you have any fucking idea what you're saying?!'
