The Rogue Villager Chen Erbao

Chapter 127: When I Say Slow, It Means Slow

  • Next Chapter

Chen Erbao was in the middle of a pleasant dream about sharing his big bed when he suddenly felt his nose start to itch. He opened his eyes to find Lin Zhiqing playfully tickling the tip of his nose with her hair.

SMACK!

He gave her pale bottom a light pat, then rolled over to go back to sleep.

"What time is it?"

"It's already eight-thirty, you big sleepyhead!"

Lin Zhiqing wrapped her arms around Chen Erbao's waist from behind, rubbing her fair, smooth skin against his body a few times.

Chen Erbao was finally wide awake. He slowly sat up.

A man is at his most vigorous in the morning, and the thin covers immediately tented into a conspicuous bulge.

Chen Erbao and Lin Zhiqing's eyes were drawn to it at the same time.

"Don't... I can't. I'm all sore and swollen..."

Chen Erbao scratched his head.

"I don't think so. I took a look for you in the bath last night, and it didn't look..."

Lin Zhiqing clamped a hand over his mouth, not wanting to hear another word. Wrinkling her nose, she feigned anger and said:

"I told you to go slow last night, and you were still... so fast! Were you doing that on purpose?"

Chen Erbao felt terribly wronged. 'If I hadn't heard sounds from the room next door, I wouldn't have finished so quickly. That was all for the benefit of our neighbors.'

'But I can't say that out loud.'

"Don't they say women mean the opposite of what they say? I thought when you told me to slow down, you actually wanted me to speed up..."

"Pah... Next time I say slow, you go slow, understand?"

Her face flushed slightly as she spoke with great seriousness.

"Sigh..."

...

The hotel had a breakfast buffet, and the downstairs area was well-equipped with a gym and a swimming pool. The facilities were quite comprehensive.

Chen Erbao finished washing up in five minutes, but seeing that Lin Zhiqing was still doing her makeup, he decided to head downstairs first.

There was hardly anyone at the pool, so he changed into a pair of swimming trunks and began swimming to warm up.

He was over six feet tall, with a muscular yet lean physique. From a distance, he cut the figure of a professional swimmer.

After a few laps, Chen Erbao noticed he had caught the eye of several women in their thirties and beat a hasty retreat.

'If I stay here any longer,' he thought, 'I'll be eaten alive.'

Just as Lin Zhiqing and Bai Xiaoqing, finished with their makeup, arrived downstairs, they saw a woman with a graceful figure chatting up Chen Erbao.

"Are you here alone, handsome?"

"Heh heh..."

"Let's exchange contact info. You should come hang out with me when you're free..."

"Alright..."

Chen Erbao wasn't one to turn people down, so he gave a shy smile as they scanned each other's codes and added each other as friends.

When he turned around, he saw Lin Zhiqing and Bai Xiaoqing watching him from a short distance away.

"Zhiqing, Xiaoqing, uh... that woman was just asking for directions..."

"Heh."

Lin Zhiqing scoffed.

"Directions? Didn't I just hear her ask you to hang out with her sometime?"

"Uh... it would have been rude to turn her down to her face. I'll delete her right away!"

Chen Erbao said with a completely serious expression.

Lin Zhiqing didn't believe a word of his nonsense. She shot him a glare, then grabbed Bai Xiaoqing's arm and walked off.

The buffet selection was extensive, offering everything from seafood and meat to fruits and vegetables, all of it very fresh.

After breakfast, the trio headed straight for Medicine King Hall.

Setting up the factory required all sorts of personnel, but he had given Lin Cheng a heads-up, so everything should have been properly arranged.

"Er Bao, you're here!"

Lin Cheng stood up to greet Chen Erbao as he walked in.

The previous night, he had discussed the matter with the other regional heads of Medicine King Hall. They all unanimously agreed that this was a major opportunity for the company.

It wasn't just because the cosmetic was incredibly effective, but more so because of Chen Erbao himself!

The man was a miracle worker!

Medicine King Hall was currently pouring all its energy into a classified project and was in desperate need of a new revenue stream to maintain daily operations.

"Uncle Lin, time is tight. I need to hire staff in the next couple of days and start training immediately. Are the herbs ready?"

Chen Erbao got straight to the point.

Lin Cheng beckoned his secretary over.

"Get a few vehicles ready. Load up the prepared herbs and prepare for delivery to the factory in the suburbs."

Seeing that the herbs were ready to go, Chen Erbao nodded.

"Uncle Lin, since the herbs are ready, I'll head over to the factory. I still need to recruit workers..."

"Not so fast, Er Bao."

Lin Cheng interrupted him.

"We at Medicine King Hall also do some of our own research and development on herbal health products, so we have people who work the production lines, though it's all small-scale stuff... How about this? You can take a batch of my people for now and train them. Once you've gradually hired your own employees, you can swap mine out in shifts and send them back. That way, you won't have any delays."

The moment Lin Cheng finished speaking, an angry expression crossed Lin Zhiqing's face. She gently tugged on his sleeve and whispered:

"Second Uncle, what are you saying?!"

Bai Xiaoqing also frowned slightly.

Chen Erbao mulled it over for a moment, staring into Lin Cheng's eyes. After a long pause, he broke into a hearty laugh.

"That's wonderful, Uncle Lin! I was just worrying about finding workers. If you can really do that, I'd be incredibly grateful! Let me introduce you. This is my factory manager, Bai Xiaoqing."

The two exchanged brief pleasantries. Chen Erbao gave the address to Lin Cheng, then took the herbs and headed over first.

As expected of a manager at Medicine King Hall, Lin Cheng's arrangements were incredibly thorough. He didn't just provide production line workers; he also dispatched teams for security, transport, manual labor, and logistics. All told, it was a group of several hundred people!

The laborers followed the truck of herbs directly to the factory. Under Chen Erbao's direction, they sorted all the herbs by category and placed them in the warehouse before starting to clean up the entire factory grounds.

Lin Zhiqing and Bai Xiaoqing watched from the side the entire time.

"Er Bao, about using workers from Medicine King Hall..."

Lin Zhiqing trailed off, and Bai Xiaoqing also had a strange expression on her face.

"What's wrong?"

Chen Erbao had no idea what they were getting at.

Lin Zhiqing grabbed his arm, her tone complicated.

"Medicine King Hall isn't just a place where our Lin Family has the final say. What if the workers learn the formula and process for your mud mask and it gets leaked...?"

She left the sentence unfinished, but her meaning was clear. If the higher-ups at Medicine King Hall decided to get greedy, they could pull the rug out from under Chen Erbao.

Bai Xiaoqing couldn't understand it either. Why would someone as shrewd as Chen Erbao allow workers from another pharmaceutical company into his own factory?

She knew Medicine King Hall and Chen Erbao were partners, but when faced with enormous profits, no alliance was completely reliable.

Chen Erbao just smiled and stroked Lin Zhiqing's hair.

"Zhiqing, don't worry. I know what I'm doing. Even if someone learned the production process for this mud mask, they couldn't copy it. That's because the most crucial, core part of the technology remains in my hands. What happens here is just the first step. After this stage is complete, the product will be sent to Bailong Village. Only after I personally handle it will it become truly effective."

Chen Erbao had deliberately designed the two-step process to throw people off the scent.

He wanted others to think that his specific mixing method was the most important part.

But even if someone did manage to get the exact sequence and dosage, without Spiritual Qi, it would all be for nothing!
