Chapter 610 - Sticky Note
Meanwhile…
"Nico, are you flirting with Andy again?" Lexi arched her right brow, placing a folder over Nico's desk. The latter then raised her head, the corner of his lips curled into a smug grin.
"It's my break time." In a matter-of-fact tone, Nico shrugged his shoulders as he answered. On the other hand, Lexi shook her head sideways as Nico had become sly over the year.
In retrospect, Nico rarely had time for himself ̶̶̶̶ he never took his breaks that seriously. However, the moment he started dating Andrea, he would maximize his free time to talk to her. Although they worked in the same company, Nico would prefer talking to her through the phone to keep the professional environment for Beauty DR.
Still, Lexi knew almost everything about their relationship. After all, Andrea would tell her as they had become friends whenever they're not in the office. Not that Lexi mind this office romance. After all, they finish their jobs efficiently as always. Thus, there was no reason for Lexi to stop the two from continuing this relationship.
"Whatever. Anyway, send these files to Miss Ning ASAP." Lexi changed the subject, pushing the folder towards Nico. "You don't want to hear her nagging." She added in a knowing tone.
Nico only nodded his head and watched Lexi walk back towards her office. Before she could enter, he spoke. "Madam, Miss Du will hand you some important documents from the Lu Corporation."
"Hmm?" As Lexi turned her head around, she tilted her head to the side as she knitted her brows together. "Miss Du?" She repeated in a questioning tone. Nico nodded as a response before Lexi nodded in understanding.
"Just send her in." Lexi ordered as the corner of her lips curled into a gentle smile. With that being said, Lexi then went back to her office and closed the door behind her.
Yet, instead of walking directly to her desk, Lexi leaned her back against the door. "Haha," She chuckled, shaking her head sideways.
It's been a year since Stella Du got hired in Beauty DR. Even so, Stella Du showed great reluctance showing her face in front of Lexi. Unlike Stella's earnest eyes when she faced Lexi and asked her if she could work in her company, she changed into a shy and timid lady after that.
Thus, it was a surprise that Stella Du would bring her the documents. Now that Lexi would think about it, if the documents were from the Lu Corporation, did that mean Lyrick and Stella Du bickered? Did he scold her to do it herself?
"What an innocent love." Lexi chuckled and then slowly trudged towards her desk. With a smile, she turned to her computer and began checking the important files she was checking before handing the documents to Nico that Aubrey Ning needed.
Soon, Lexi stopped as a faint knock was heard from the other side of the door. "Come in," She permitted, resting her chin on her palm as she watched the door slowly open.
"Yes, Miss Du." Lexi smiled.
Stella timidly walked inside, holding the folder close to her chest. She dragged her feet inside and stopped in front of the desk. "Mr. Jiang said to hand it personally to your hands." After clearing her throat, Stella delivered the message as she placed the folder on top of the pile of documents that were on Lexi's desk.
"He said that?" Lexi nodded, raising her brows as she picked up the files and checked its content. As soon as Lexi saw the title of the document, the side of her lips hooked up before raising her gaze back to Stella Du.
"Is that all?" She asked, closing the folder.
"Uhm, yes…!" Stella fiddled her fingers behind her, forcing a smile on her face as she took a step back. "I - I'll go, Madam Lu." She bid her farewell, bowing her head slightly before she carefully walked away.
However, just as Stella Du reached the door, her tracks stopped upon hearing Lexi's voice. "Miss Du, wait̶ !" Stella turned around, seeing Lexi grab something from her drawer before she raised a small envelope with a smile.
"I planned on handing this to you but you kept avoiding me, so I'll take this time to invite you to my wedding." Without further ado, Zoey said with a smile before she winked.
Stella Du froze, her gaze darted from the wedding invitation to Lexi's smiling front. "Me?" She asked, pointing at herself.
"Yes." As clear and certain as the day, Lexi exclaimed and nodded her head.
"But ̶ but, why?" With a tone of disbelief, Stella bit her lower lips. The invitation had been distributed since a week ago.
It was well-known that Ethan Lu and Lexi Yang's wedding would be held privately. Only those that were close to the two were invited. There was even a separate party for those business associates of the Lu Corporation to compensate them from not getting a wedding invitation -- or so what Stella heard.
Nevertheless, it was evident that the only people invited were families, close friends, and a few business and important partners of the Yang's and Lu's. Therefore, Stella didn't expect to even have a glimpse of the wedding invitation.
But now, Lexi was giving her a personal invitation? Why? She might sound a little emotional and exaggerated, but Stella could not be blamed. After getting disowned by her own family, none of her friends had checked up on her. They even avoided her like a plague. So this gave her a mixed emotion.
"Why not?" Lexi tilted her head to the side. "Were friends, aren't we?" In a matter-of-fact tone, Lexi blinked her eyes innocently before she slowly rose from her seat. She then walked towards her and stopped a few steps away from Stella.
"I'll be expecting you." Lexi said with a bright smile on her lips as she raised her hand that was holding the wedding invitation.
"I -- thank you." Her eyes fixated on the simple yet elegant color of white and gold invitation before she accepted it with her head hung low.
"Silly girl." Upon seeing that a drop of liquid fell down, Lexi shook her head while Stella accepted the invitation.
Shortly after receiving the invitation, Stella departed from the office. Lexi could not help but chuckle as she shook her head once again. "My husband will surely be thrilled when I tell him this." She muttered, walking back to her desk.
When Lexi opened the folder again, she pursed her smiling lips as she picked up the sticky note inside. It says: [My Goddess, help me ask her for a date! T.T I don't want to remain single for the rest of my life! Let Red take over the single forever clubs! PLEASE! I'M BEGGING YOU, MY GODDESS! T.T]
"Lyrick is such a silly guy, indeed." Lexi chuckled as she placed the sticky note to the side. How clever of him to ask Lexi for help through a sticky note. Not that Lexi didn't plan on inviting Stella to her wedding, though. It was just amusing that Lyrick Jiang indirectly admitted to Lexi that she was into Stella Du.
