Chapter 578 - Should We Try So We Can Understand?
"Yes, I don't — do you?" Without further ado, Louis Lu pulled Lexi's wrist and tossed her back to the long sofa. Fortunately, the couch was soft hence, Lexi wasn't hurt. Still, she bounced a little by the impact and let out a faint squeal.
"Ahh!"
"Crossing Ethan, touching his woman, violating you — do you think he won't want me dead too?!" For the first time in history, Louis Lu raised his voice.
His aggressiveness didn't stop in his voice as he pounced on her, holding both Lexi's wrist above her as he positioned himself on top of her.
"Tell me, if you leave this place with my mark, won't you want me dead too?" His sharp gaze pierced Lexi's widened eyes as he lowly growled.
"If you think you fully understand the situation, you're wrong. You haven't tasted what it feels like so you can't say you understood." Leaning down, Louis Lu ground his teeth. Their distance was too short that he only needed to lean a little to cross the line further.
He caught Lexi off guard as the situation escalated real quick. Yet, after the initial shock, she was surprisingly not terrified nor was she intimidated by him.
As she stared at his piercingly sharp eyes, Lexi got more relax as her wrist that were pinned down above her stopped struggling. Despite the short distance between them, to the point that she could clearly smell the scent of wine he consumed earlier, Lexi calmed down as her chest heaved up and down.
In her eyes, Louis Lu was at a state of confusion. It wasn't that it baffled him at what transpired, but the people's thinking; to be precise, Victoria Tang's mind.
Louis Lu could not understand her, no matter how hard he tried. Words wouldn't be enough because what happened was worse than they expected.
"Tell me, Lexi." Not breaking away from her gaze, Louis Lu clenched his teeth harder. "Should I make you experience everything for us to understand things more? Maybe, if Ethan and you were in the same situation, we can understand." Louis Lu proposed with a bitter scoff.
At the moment, Louis Lu was standing on a thin line; the line of Ethan Lu's property. Louis Lu would only need to take a baby step to cross it. However, he remained on that line by staring down on Lexi's eyes.
To him, her lack of reaction was annoying. She broke his cool, bringing out the emotion he had been holding in. Yet, after the initial surprise, Lexi didn't show fear nor did she display disgust and panic.
What her eyes bore as she stared back at him was nothing but worry and a bit of something he could not comprehend. How could she stay calm if Louis Lu pinned her down, on the edge of getting violated by her husband's cousin?
"You're right. Maybe I don't truly understand what you and Vic were feeling." After some time, Lexi finally opened her mouth as she began speaking calmly — laced with the intent to comfort his lost soul.
"But, if I were in the same situation, I'd also try my best to stop Ethan from killing someone." Despite the meekness of her tone, Lexi's eyes glinted with unwavering resolve.
"Sure, we can say you crossed the line and did what you shouldn't do. I'll hate you, I know — I would wish you karma. And Ethan too, he'll surely chase you to the ends of the world." Lexi paused. The situation he gave her somehow broadened her perspective on their situation. Hence, she tried to think of the outcome if Louis Lu continued this.
"But, despite hating you for the rest of my life, I would do everything to stop Ethan from taking your life. You already had my body, disturbed our life that will never return to normal. So, I can never let you take everything away from me by turning my husband to a murderer." Speaking from the perspective of the victim, Lexi resumed.
"Lou, I think Vic also has the same reasoning. She couldn't return the time of when Dylan did what he done to her. No matter how long she bath herself, or cry herself to sleep, she knew that she wouldn't return what he took away from her. So, what she was trying to do was to prevent something that hasn't happened yet. At the very least, she could save you from the same man that was trying to take her heart — you." As Lexi expressed her utmost understanding, she felt the pressure on her wrist loosened.
The rage in his eyes slowly faded as he stared at her before he slowly got off of her. Sitting on the edge of the couch, Louis Lu buried his face in his palms.
"I'm sorry," Louis Lu apologized through a whisper.
"No, I'm sorry." As Lexi slowly sat up, she turned her gaze to his vulnerable figure. "I should have been more sensitive and considerate." Lexi apologized sincerely as she positioning herself beside him.
"Lou, please help Ethan... help the next generation of the Lu's to have a more peaceful environment. Let's not raise our kids that would turn their backs at each other overtime, hmm?" Stretching her lips a little up, Lexi automatically deleted the fact that Louis Lu was on top of her seconds ago.
If not for a fact that it was Louis Lu, Lexi would have treated him with utter disgust. However, she made an exception this time because she felt pain for him and Victoria Tang. What happened to his beloved, Lexi just couldn't say a word to describe how painful it was to the both of them.
However, she believed that Victoria Tang and Louis Lu would overcome this enormous obstacle.
Slowly, Louis Lu raised his gaze and turned to his side. Seeing that Lexi was acting as if he had done nothing wrong, a helpless sigh escaped his lips. "You and Ethan's ideology..." he murmured, and he finished the rest of his sentence inside his head.
'both are silly yet somehow, it made other people believe that it's possible."
