Chapter 505 - Did You Just...?
Just as the two exchanged gentle smiles while holding their questions back for each other, they heard a faint knock before the door opened.
Glancing at the entrance of the meeting room, Lexi's front returned to its cold demeanor as she thrust her chin forward.
"My, my, I knew you're still here." Slowly, Dylan Lu gently smiled. His hand inside his pocket as he strode towards Lexi's standpoint. "After all, it's the time of the year that you lose your cool." Surprisingly enough, unlike how wary everyone was around her, Dylan Lu seemed relaxed as he perched into the nearest seat.
"Lexi, who is this animal?" Scrutinizing Dylan Lu's facial features, Churu must admit that he doesn't really look bad. Although he was not as dashing as Ethan Lu nor he had the unique charms of Morris Liu, Dylan Lu doesn't look bad at all.
However, the reason Churu found him a little unappealing was that he interrupted her precious reunion with Lexi; and the way he talked to her as if they were close irked Churu in many ways.
Regardless, Churu could also smell the stinking scent of danger around him. Hence, she carefully examined his danger level.
"Huh," Although hearing Churu's insults, Lexi ignored it as she scoffed. "You knew and yet, here you are offering yourself as the tribute. Say, should I register your death certificate in advance?"
"Aha!" Dylan Lu heartily chuckled upon hearing her humor. "Oh dear, my heart is caught off guard, again. Sure, if I'd die by your own hands — why would I refuse?" He humored back with a large grin on his lips.
"Wow, what a masochist..." Bemused at his ugly humor, Churu cringed in disdain. She was always attracted to dangerous men — Elliot Gong was an exception — but to this particular guy, Churu had this urge to tear him apart by her bare hands.
Once again, a faint scoff escaped from her mouth as she stared at the gleeful front of the man. Slowly, she stood from her seat and took small strides towards his direction.
Seeing her come closer and closer, her hips swayed a little, Dylan Lu smirked. "You're seducing me." He noted as his eyes traveled down to her exposed fair legs.
As soon as she stopped in front of him, Lexi placed her palm on the chair's armrest and leaned down. Her other hand traced his jaw down to the side of his neck and slowly wrapped her hands around it.
"Dylan Lu, was your neck too small or my fingers are too long? It feels frail." Lexi's thumb nail stroked his neck before she unhurriedly pressed it against his skin. "Too bad, my claws are enough to make you bleed a little but not enough to kill you." As she pressed her thumb nail against the side of his neck, Lexi glimpsed at the little blood on it and yet, Dylan Lu still bore his smile.
"Oy oy oy!" The baffled Churu watched everything unfold which startled her tiny figure.
Despite that, she just watched and mumbled to remind Lexi that she's still there. Yet, the next second, Churu sensed the dangerous aura emanating from Lexi while she wrapped her hand around his neck.
For several seconds, Churu was certain that Lexi's desire to kill the man wasn't just a mere joke. It was real! After all, Churu was an angel turned into a spawn of a demon. Hence, it was easy to see how black a human heart was.
"I really think we are a match made in heaven. Too bad, I met you a little late." Ignoring the slight pain on his neck, Dylan Lu nonchalantly stated in a matter of fact tone.
Lexi's eyes glanced up before she retracted her hand away from his neck. She then placed it onto the other side of the armrest as she stared at Dylan Lu's front for a long time.
"Lexi, what are you doing?!? Why are you so close to him?!" Churu snapped and in an instant, she appeared in front of Lexi, blocking the center of Dylan Lu's face which made Lexi chuckle.
Of course, since Dylan Lu could not see the floating dumpling on his face, he clearly saw Lexi genuinely grinned before she chuckled for her own reason. Seeing her real laugh for the first time in four years, he knitted his brows in confusion.
"Such a cutie," Lexi whispered as she stared back at Churu. She didn't care whether Dylan Lu would misunderstand her. Well, to her, it would be better on her end if he did.
Just then, Lexi heard another faint knock from outside and without further ado, Lyrick Jiang intruded. Upon laying his eyes on Lexi's figure and Dylan Lu, Lyrick Jiang just bowed his head down and apologized before giving them their private space.
"I wonder if he curses you inside for having an illicit affair with me." As Dylan Lu watched how Lyrick Jiang remained quiet even though Lexi and his position could spark some misunderstanding, he wondered and used the circulating rumor about Lexi and him.
"Illicit — what?!? Hey, shut your mouth already and leave us! I have so many questions for her and you just have to ruin it!" Disgusted at the word, Churu turned around as she attempted to shove her flabby stomach inside his mouth, but to no avail.
Aware of the ongoing rumor, Lexi was unfazed as she smirked and drew away from him before she straightened her posture. She looked down on the triumphant smile plastered across his lips as she had figured that he deliberately provoked her for Lyrick Jiang to see.
"Poor thing." She said before turning and walked away from him. She could have said many insults and threats towards him but Lexi decided to show him pity.
After all, he had been hitting on her for his own reason and though Lexi sometimes gave him a little hope, she would instantly take that away from him. Hence, now, what he was doing was deluding himself with his come up false rumors about 'their relationship', because he could never win against the dead.
"Disgusting little creature! Pwe!" Pleased at Lexi's elegant insult, Churu spat in front of Dylan Lu before she flew and perched on top of Lexi's head.
'He is, a disgusting motherf*cker.' Humoring Churu back, Lexi loudly thought in her mind which made Churu gasped in disbelief.
"Did — did you just... cursed?!?" Slowly, Churu flew in front of Lexi with her eyes and mouth wide open.
