Chapter 435 - It's Been A While Mr. Liu
As the two left, Stella Du's jaw tightened as hand long nails dug into her palms. 'You… how dare you humiliate me even with my kind approach?' Grounding her teeth, Stella Du internally spat her cursed Lexi to the bones.
'You and your best friend will see... ' Watching them fade into the crowd, Stella Du scoffed inwardly. 'Cosmetic line? Huh, as if I'll let you succeed.' Stella Du hid the sneer that was threatening to show on her lips. She calmed herself down as she didn't want to make the same mistake she had done a year ago at the Lu Family event, hence, her approach to Lexi.
However, when Stella Du looked around her surroundings, some people were staring at her with obvious ridicule flashing across their pair of orbs. She arched her brows as she thrust her chin forward, imposing her arrogance.
"What?" She arrogantly asked, her eyes scanning each face of some familiar young misses which showed her strained relationship with them. A group of ladies who were irked at her dauntlessness just responded by mocking scoffed before they retracted their gaze from Stella Du before they resumed gossiping.
"Young misses who only know how to spend their family's riches." Stella Du vented her rage to Lexi by dissing those ladies not far away from her. If not for the fact that she cared for her reputation, she would unhesitatingly confront them and make a scene.
However, she was not the same Stella Du that was reckless with her action anymore… or what she believed.

"Gosh, did you see the look on her face? Pfft-! The girl needs to restrain herself." Restraining herself from laughing out loud, Rika Song giggled as the priceless expression that was plastered on Stella Du flashed inside her mind.
"Shh, she's just like that.' Lexi shook her head sideways as a faint chuckled escape her mouth. She was slightly amused at something small like this but, tonight, she felt particularly entertained for serving the cold tea Stella Du deserved.
After all, deep down, Lexi still held a grudge at Stella Du's scheme back at their product showcase. Hence, Stella Du's experiencing Ethan Lu's wrath before was not enough. Lexi might have asked him to let her go not because she forgave her but because she wanted to deliver teach her a lesson herself.
And this? This was just the beginning as she would be entering the cosmetics industry where Stella Du was so proud as if she was reigning it. Of course, it was not just solely for Stella Du but also because Aubrey Ning had been meaning to enter the industry. It was just that her competition to a certain Benjamin Shao was too tough that she wanted to use Lexi's brand to enter instead while earning on the side— typical cunning Aubrey Ning.
Just then, Lexi caught a group of figures not far away from them by the side of eyes. Turning to see them clearly, a glint flashed across her orbs as the side of her lips slowly curled into a graceful smile.
"Excuse me for a bit, bestie." Without looking at Rika Song, Lexi whispered before heading her way towards the cluster of men in their tux.
"Oh, sure. I'll see you around~" Nodding at the already retreating Lexi, Rika Song muffledly cheered before she turned around and walked her way where she left her future husband with the ever so dramatic Elliot Gong.
"Should I ever know he slandered me in front of my honey, I will surely deliver him to hell." Being reminded that Jaime Liao was with Elliot Gong, Rika Song hastened her pace to save her name from being slandered to the heavens.

"Good evening, Mr. Tang, and Happy Birthday!" Stopping several steps away from them, Lexi approached bearing an elegant demeanor before she slightly bowed her in respect to the host of tonight's grand celebration.
"Miss Yang! Oh, I'm glad that you made it here! Haha!" Upon laying his eyes on Lexi's ethereal being, Mr. Tang's eyes lit up in glee as he heartily chuckled while gesturing her to raise her head. "I had my doubts when Mr. Yang told me you'll be representing the Yang Family because I heard that you've been truly busy with your flourishing business. Congratulations!" he added.
"Mr. tang, you've underestimated your place in our family's heart. How could I dare not to celebrate your important day?" Chuckling, Lexi covered her lips with the back of her hand as she humored the old man.
"Hahaha! I am honored, truly moved!" Gleeful at Lexi's flowery remark, Mister Tang smiled in satisfaction before he turned to the group of men accompanying him.
"Any gentlemen, I assumed you must have heard Miss Yang's name but I will still gladly introduce you to her. Mr. Yun, Senator Xie, Mr. Liu… this is one of the most successful businesswomen in the growing skincare line, Lexi Yang…" As Mister Tang introduced his friends to her one by one, Lexi unconsciously glanced at the tall figure standing beside the senator.
There, Morris Liu was just coldly staring while he let Mr. Tang enjoyed Lexi's presence. None could be read across his frosty mien, he only shot Lexi a glance before he averted his eyes as if he didn't see her.
Of course, Lexi noticed it all. From the moment he glanced at her and when he turned away when Lexi was about to look in his direction. She caught everything.
Yet, Lexi ignored that slight move as she resumed on smiling and exchanging praises with the people Mister Tang introduced. Fortunately, although Lexi was certain that Mister Tang was well-informed about her history with Morris Liu, he acted accordingly, making the atmosphere less awkward than it should be.
"Pleasure to meet you, Miss Yang." After the men exchange greetings with Lexi, Morris Liu slightly smiled, as if it was his first time meeting her in this lifetime.
"It's been a while, Mr. Liu." Smiling back, Lexi's eyes softened as she looked straight in his cold yet yearning eyes.
