Chapter 135 - She Was Amazing, Don't You Think?
[At Eleven Lounge Bar]
Inside the spacious and luxurious VIP room, Morris Liu wordlessly poured himself a cup of exquisite wine with his left hand inside his pocket.
Despite the dim lights around the private lounge and the man not having expression on his icy front, it only added it to his charms. He was akin to a mysterious man, tempting someone to know what's inside his mind.
Over all, only a blind person wouldn't be awestruck upon seeing his perfectly sculpted facial features as if God took extra time to mold his very being.
No wonder, Lexi was head over heels with him in the past. Considering the looks, occupation, achievements, status, and digits on his bank account, these alone could make every girl throw themselves at him.
"That's weird… brother Mo, you've arrived earlier this time." Turning his head towards the large bar on the other side of the room where Morris Liu stood, Chris tilted his head on the side with a curious countenance.
In retrospect, Morris Liu often arrived at his meeting one minute prior to the agreed time. No matter how hard Chris Yu searched in his memory, there's never a time Morris Liu arrived ten minutes earlier! Hence, Chris Yu's inner busybody resurfaced.
After Chris Yu uttered his sentence, the wine glass was already half filled which made Morris Liu halt himself from pouring more wine then placed the cork back on the wine bottle.
Picking up the glass of wine, Morris Liu strode towards the long sofa and he ignored Chris Yu's obvious words.
His stance, his every step, and even the way he sat contained elegance. If was as if he came from an aristocratic family with his natural grace.
When Morris Liu perched on the corner of the sofa where he leaned his back and crossed his legs, with a glass of wine in his hand, he finally spoke.
"Why are you here?" Lightly swirling the wine, Morris Liu raised his gaze to his left, where Chris Yu sat.
"Err, that slave of love asked me to come and have a drink?" Shrugging, Chris Yu bluntly responded the reason of his attendance.
Indeed, last night, he finally heard from his friend, Ethan Lu after his months of silence -- telling him to meet him at this place because of something important.
Of course, he could not forget the last time he was with Ethan Lu as they had discussed about his friend's real feelings towards the mystery girl, Ethan Lu talked about. Hence, Chris Yu agreed without a second hesitation just to see his friend's resolve. Who cares about the boring important stuff he wanted to discuss.
"Love…" Morris Liu whispered that only he could hear. After a second, he took a sip from his glass of wine and yet, he still kept his stoic face.
"Haa? Did you say anything, brother Mo?" As keen as Chris Yu, he heard him whisper. Sadly, it wasn't audible enough for him to discerned what he said.
After some time of silence and it was hopeless for Morris Liu to keep a lively atmosphere, Chris Yu mocked loudly.
"Haha! That fool, he actually fell in love with his 'friend'. Haa! Karma strikes him, splendid! Very good!"
Surely, he was taking advantage of the fact that Ethan Lu hasn't arrived yet as he hadn't ridiculed him enough in the past month. He resumed,
"He went soul searching -- probably, he knew there was no chance for him!" By the way Chris Yu uttered his words, one would rethink if he was Ethan Lu's friend.
Well, no one could blame him as Ethan mocked him in the past about being locked into a relationship for a long time; saying, he wasted several years of his life.
"I must say though, I am intrigued who was the woman that managed to make that guy fall in love. I must thank her!" Chris Yu cheered even more as he cracked up and poured himself a glass of whiskey.
"She was amazing, don't you think?" While Chris Yu was laughing, Morris Liu suddenly muttered. It wasn't loud but it was enough to reach Chris Yu's ear.
"She is! Hahaha -- haa?" Chris Yu heartily laughed. Alas, he stopped midway as he turned his head towards Morris Liu's direction. He blinked numerous times as he could not believe his ears.
Normally, Morris Liu would keep his silence on their boy's night out and was the first person to leave after tolerating them for at least 15 minutes. However, just moments ago, did he just shared his opinion? Or was it Chris Yu's imagination?
"For Ethan to like someone, that woman was admirable." Ignoring Chris Yu's bewildered stare, Morris Liu clarified.
"Woah, brother Mo! Are you actually paying attention to Ethan's messy love life?" Shocked at his conclusion, Chris Yu heedlessly blurted out.
"I am not…" Morris Liu, with his ever flat tone replied before salivating his throat with the fine liquor. Chris Yu didn't pay attention to the unusual amount Morris Liu gulped as he drank his whiskey as well.
"...not until now." Morris Liu lowly uttered as he stared down at his glass.
Suddenly, a light knock was heard from the outside of the door that caught the two men's attention. And then, it opened afterwards. There, Lyrick Jiang's composed figure with his neatly arranged one sided hair style appeared. He strode directly to Morris Liu and courtly bowed his head.
"Mr. Liu, our young master apologize in advance that he'd be a little late."
"Late?" Furrowing his brows, Morris Liu glanced at his wristwatch and saw, it one minute before the specified meeting time.
"My apologies for this inconvenience, Mr. Liu. Our young master said if you could wait --" Sensing the pressing aura emanating from Morris Liu, Lyrick Jiang gulped before he mustered his courage to romanticized his boss's words. However, he was interrupted before he could finish his sentence.
"He wants me to wait? Huh…" Morris Liu's tone didn't change, but one could tell that he was displeased. Putting down his glass of wine, Morris Liu unhurriedly stood and without a word, he began taking strides towards the exit.
He didn't have the time to wait. He already made there much earlier and he wouldn't complain about it, but,0 Ethan Lu must know that he was strict towards these things. Especially, since he made an official business appointment.
---
When Morris Liu arrived outside the establishment, his ride was already waiting for him to hitch. However, just as the backseat door was opened by his assistant and when he was about to enter, he heard an angry shout.
"Brother Mo!"
Turning his head towards the source, Morris Liu was caught off guard and before he knew it, a powerful punch landed on his left cheek.
