The result those three got was actually not as bad as what Wade and the other representatives on his side expected.

‘The reward certainly is on the lower side, but the grade wasn’t that bad, perhaps the reward is tied to the performance during the trial, but the grade takes talent and other aspects into account, in that case…’.

Wade whose mood had brightened, stopped Fawn from sending the bearded uncle looking Otto to be evaluated.

“Thanks for volunteering, now I suggest we start evaluating from youngest to oldest, any objections?”, he said to the other representatives, who had reached a similar conclusion as him, after all those three subordinated to Fawn, certainly participated in the trials, while some on their side didn’t, but if other aspects were taken into account, their results should be more or less the same, or even higher.

After all, those three are members of really distant families of a secondary branch within the Mountain Amber family, even the members of the Blazeheart family that came, were closer to the main branches than them, which is also why the Redheart representative was the first one to send people to be evaluated, namely those two guys that were related to Iris’s cousin.

“Pffft!”, the contrast with the grade those two expected to get, which was probably an “Outstanding”, with what they got, resulted in a shock followed by a humiliated expression, which made the junior disciples from the sect, openly laugh at them.

“Shut up you b…”, naturally being laughed at by those girls, whom they considered beneath them, made those two, lash out on the spot, but their bravado died down midway, since they were glared at by all the senior disciples, as well as Alice, and the others, that was more than a hundred fierce gazes which stared daggers at them.

So even as early-stage Mortal Transcending realm cultivators, they were intimidated, especially by a couple of girls, namely Alice, Aria, Tiana and surprisingly Vivian, whose body radiated the most dangerous aura out of them all, they were about to insult Kana who was the first one to laugh earlier, and the little girl happens to be the one with whom Vivian is the closest, besides Aster of course.

Speaking of Aster, he naturally was going to kick his enemies when they were down, he didn’t participate in the group intimidation like the others, but instead directly asked.

“Now that people from both sides have been evaluated, can you tell us the different possible grades and what does each one represent?”.

On the surface, that didn’t sound like a question made to attack Wade’s side, however when the answer was given, it turned into a huge insult for them.

Interestingly, Aster’s grade which was “Unique” wasn’t listed by the flaming board, but Aster didn’t interrupt, since the description of each group was going to be explained next.

[Mediocre grade is the worst result possible, given to participants whose performance during the trials is unrelated to their realm, potential, comprehension capacities, or awareness of the directives of the trials, a bad result most of times caused by poor decision-making skills and lack of wit]

The junior disciples couldn’t help but laugh at the explanation given by the flaming board, basically it was calling those two guys fools.

“What the hell are you waiting for, go and get evaluated too!”, exclaimed the Redheart representative, in a try to change the subject, unfortunately even when an elder from their group rushed into the gray area, the flaming board continued with its explanation, which meant that until it had finished, no one else would be evaluated.

[Intermediate grade is the lowest positive result, normally given to those that though were aware of the directives of the trial, couldn’t fulfill them or had a poor performance on them, but with room to grow at least to Regular grade]

Reading the previous, Wade could only pray that at the very least the vast majority on their group scored Intermediate or above, because it was too humiliating to be graded as “Mediocre”.

[Regular grade is an average passing result, given to participants that were aware of the directives of the trial and managed to fulfill at least one of them in an average manner, it’s the highest normal result, if guided by a proper leader, growth of one or two grades is possible]

Fawn’s three subordinates let out a sigh of relief after reading the explanation of their result, they might not have received any praise from the flaming board, but at least they didn’t bring shame to their young miss.

Everyone paid attention to the next one, since it was the lowest grade obtained by the girls from the Myriad Occupation sect, amusingly enough, Wade’s side seemed more interested in knowing what their result represented than those girls themselves, since they were instead busy laughing at those guys from the Redheart who at this point were seeing red, due to the public humiliation.

The very moment the flaming board finished describing what the “Outstanding” grade meant, the eyes of the girls from the sect were already sparkling, not only they were praised, but Aster was too, because instead of using the word “proper” at the guidance part, it said “experienced”, which meant that thanks to their performance, Aster was considered a good leader, he only needed more experience.

Which is understandable, since this is the first time they had gone through these trials, and even Aster committed an albeit really small, mistake due to it, also those girls were in cloud nine knowing that they were judged to be able to reach Perfect grade in a guaranteed manner.

And while those girls were cutely looking at Aster with sparkling eyes, the guys from Wade’s side were feeling depressed, basically all the people on the side of the Myriad Occupation sect, was guaranteed to obtain Perfect grade with time, but things weren’t over yet.

[Advanced grade is a high extraordinary score, given to participants that were aware of the directives of the trial, who were judged to have been able to discover them on their own and managed to fulfill at least two of them in a remarkable manner, with room to grow one grade without any help and guaranteed to do so with guidance]

That was the grade obtained by the senior disciples in the top ten, those girls from the black and red sword factions, as well as the girl from the purple lotus, apparently they were judged to be able to achieve Perfect grade by themselves, and were guaranteed to do so with just a bit of help, which is understandable, that’s probably the grade Iris and Nerissa would have obtained a few months ago, and those two are geniuses among geniuses.

[Perfect grade is the peak one of the extraordinary scores, given to participants who not only were aware of the directives of the trial and were also judged to have been able to discover them on their own, but also showed noticeable progress in the respective aspects of the trials, while also managing to fulfill at least three of them in a remarkable manner, with room to obtain full marks without help and guaranteed to do so with experienced guidance]

A few parts changed for the perfect grade, and it was also obvious at this point that there were levels even within the same grades, which were represented by the variations in the number of merits rewarded to each participant, after all, even with guidance, not all performances were bound to be the same.

Apparently to obtain a Perfect grade, showing progress in a short amount of time was also needed, which might be one of the reasons as to why Dahlia obtained a “Perfect” grade, despite her young age, because as it has been shown, her comprehension is amazingly high, considering the complex techniques she uses, so the trials probably judged her progress as noticeable, though she didn’t manage to obtain high grade merits.

Interestingly enough for Aster at least, to guarantee obtaining full marks “experienced” guidance was needed according to the flaming board, and even more interestingly, his own score “Unique”, wasn’t in the list.

“And what does “Unique” grade represent?”, he asked to the flaming board, whose answer was strange to say the least.

As in there was no answer, which could mean two things, first the flaming board didn’t have the authority to answer and second… there has never been someone evaluated like that.

‘I originally thought these were pre-set answers, recorded in some kind of formation, but they are too flexible, so there must be someone monitoring and intervening in certain situations’, concluded Aster.

After the previous most of the people on Wade’s side had lost any desire to be evaluated, unfortunately it was not up to them whether it happened or not.

‘Damn it!’, while inwardly cursing, the remaining young members on Wade’s side were sent by their respective groups to be evaluated, and as expected most of them received a “Mediocre” grade, with a few exceptions managing to obtain an “Intermediate”, and that young mercenary who endured the pressure for the treatment process, actually got a “High” grade.

But the star of the day was the last one to be evaluated, a certain potential Fey princess with light brown hair, in other words Fawn.

It was on the low side, considering she is older than Erick, and her reward was the same, but it was still a Perfect grade, the first and probably the only one that was going to appear on Wade’s side.

Speaking of Wade, seeing Fawn’s score, was like a godsend for him, people from the other groups were looking at him since the flaming board explained that guidance could increase their scores, and since theirs were really bad, naturally they blamed him, but now they couldn’t say anything about it.

After all, even if not a part of the decision making core, Fawn is still a member of the Fey family’s groups, and that wasn’t the only “gift” Fawn gave to Wade, once the elders started getting evaluated a few Regulars popped here and there, but Otto actually got an “Outstanding”, which though was the average for the elders on the side of the Myriad Occupation sect, shined like a diamond in a group of pebbles, at their side, it also helped that Wade also got an Outstanding grade, and so a riot was avoided thanks to the previous.

Full of resentment after being forced to be evaluated against their will, the people from Wade’s side, couldn’t help but ask.

“So, what happens now, are there still more of those damn trials?”, to which the flaming board answered.

“Congratulations on reaching an exit point, abandoning the trial area is allowed to those that wish to do so]

The previous message made a few people on Wade’s side to let out a sigh of relief, basically the ones from third tier forces as well as rogues, but their relief was short lived when the flaming board added.

[However, participants with level zero authority must bring along a companion if they wish to leave]

In other words, for every person that wanted to leave, another one had to leave with them, which would mean that those guys from third tier forces and the rogues, would be taking almost a fifth part of the remaining group if they left, and of course Wade wasn’t going to allow that.

“No one is leaving”, he said, which made those guys complain.

“We don’t want to continue, this place is too dange…”, however their voices died down, when they were met with Wade’s killing glare.

Spirit energy was still being restrained, Wade couldn’t send them a spirit transmission, but his glare was enough for those guys to understand that if they left, Wade will send someone out to tell his subordinates outside that they disobeyed him, and it’s easy to know what will happen then.

Long story short, they had no choice but to stay, whether they wanted it or not, and so after a couple of seconds passed, the flaming board took it that no one was leaving.

[The exit point has been closed, a resting period of one hour will be given to all the participants, restrictions on spatial treasures will be partially released to retrieve nutritional pills or food exclusively enough for a single meal, any violation against the previously stated will result in punishment]

And with that, the flaming board disappeared from the sky and the participants were free to do as they pleased.

“This might be our last decent meal in a while, so let’s eat to the content of our hearts”, said Aster as he waved his hand to take out a whole bunch of plates filled with dishes prepared by Sarina.

The very moment the pleasant smell of Sarina’s spirit cooking travelled through the air all the way to the noses of the girls from the sect, they couldn’t help but start drooling, it was normal, after twelve hours of only eating the little cookies and pastries they happened to have kept out of their rings, after that time they got to sleep in the tents, they were naturally hungry.

Especially because not, everyone had some left, and those that had didn’t keep it for themselves and instead shared with all the others, mainly with the little gluttonous girl, whose eyes were sparkling upon the sight of all that warm delicious looking food.

“Yeeei, big brother is the best~”.

Both little girls immediately dug in, as in Kana grabbed a plate and placed it on top of her lap while Espi hid below of it, so that she could take pieces of food from Kana’s plate.

And so, with Kana’s blessing, all those hungry girls who were too shy to openly pounce on the food, despite how tasty it looked, also joined in the fray, even Valentina and the elders were the same.

An hour of rest sounded like a lot, considering they had only minutes of rest lately, but it passed incredibly fast since all the girls were having fun, it’s worth mentioning that those cunning girls this time kept a couple of cookies each, they kept their dessert time short in order to have something to snack on later if needed.

Luckily the rules of the trial didn’t hold it against them, though they were indeed worried that when the flaming board appeared again, their snacks were going to be confiscated, in comparison people at Wade’s side weren’t in such good spirits.

They were starting to hate themselves for only keeping nutrition pills in their rings, instead of real food, some even considered trying to buy food from the Myriad Occupation sect, but those girls fiercely glared at anyone on Wade’s side who even gazed in the direction of their plates.

With that sentence, a change happened in the gray area, the purpose of that gray sand like material which covered the vicinity of the gate was revealed, as in the gray sand gathered in a rectangular tablet, which then opened to reveal a space portal.

Apparently, the giant wall ahead of them wasn’t a gate like they thought, but the gate was formed by that gray sand, surprisingly there was no restriction about who had to enter first unlike the portal used to enter the road, but given how many bad experiences Wade and company have had, they didn’t move and waited for Aster’s side to pave the way for them.

Which of course earned them, disdaining gazes from the girls of the sect, alongside a few insults.

“Cowards”, mumbled the junior disciples as they followed Aster who of course was walking ahead of his group, alongside Alice and the others as well as Valentina, while Mikaela remained at the rear, just in case.

Things blacked out for a second in front of Aster and the others, before everything returned to normal, they were welcomed with an open field, short yellow colored grass lied below their feet, some groups of trees were placed here and there in the vicinity while mountains and a body of water could be seen far into the distance.

The interesting part is that it was sunny, and Aster has been keeping a record of the time since they entered the gate, based on the clock that was used for the sky formation at the temporary city, it should be night as of current.

But that’s not what drew everyone’s attention, but the giant endless wall that was behind a few dozens of meters away from where they appeared.

“Did they actually set up a portal just to cross over that wall?”, asked a girl from the Green Lotus, to which a girl from the Silver Cauldron faction shook her head in disbelief.

“That would be a waste, unless that wall has at least hundreds of kilometers of width, but such thick walls are archaic things as of current”, she said.

Nowadays, thanks to formations, there wasn’t a need to use so much materials to get a strong defensive wall, a plaque of a few centimeters could have the same toughness of a wall with hundreds of meters of width, without the inconveniences that would come with them.

Like for example the need for a spatial formation just to cross through them, which was a waste of spirit jades in the past of the four Heavenly Quadrants, when monstrously thick defensive walls used to be a thing.

The previous led to the girls from the sect to believe that wherever they had appeared was a place which had stagnated in the past, therefore they thought it might be a secret realm with lower ranked technology when compared to the four Heavenly Quadrants.

But Aster immediately discarded such a thing, because the moment they appeared here, Mira, Eris, Mylene and Esmeralda turned to see Aster, to then say.

“The Heavenly Law is… weaker here”.

Which of course made Aster frown, after all, the quality of the spirit energy in the vicinity didn’t feel any different than at their previous place, so if this was a Divine Firmament, it was rather disappointing.
