The Rise of the Iron Wall!

Chapter 928: Frohling’s Last Speech of the Year!

  • Next Chapter

"YES! COME ON!"

"Hoppe, you fucking beast! How could you do that?!"

"Hah! Rookie, you really made a name for yourself today! Be proud of it!"

The moment everything was over, everyone on the Schalke side rushed toward the lanky boy on the frontline, wanting to celebrate everything properly.

Hell, even some of the Hoffenheim fans who spent their time coming to support their team also couldn’t help but give a round of applause for the away team.

Even though they lost, they had to admit begrudgingly that their team got outclassed, never having a good chance even for a single game today.

Hoppe himself was grinning madly, as if nothing could wipe that expression from the boy’s face. Out of everyone else, he was definitely the happiest, enjoying his debut where he became a hero overnight.

"Good job, Hoppe!"

"Nice work! Get ready for the interview after this!"

"Hah! Don’t forget to bring back the ball for yourself!"

At this point, everyone was so supportive of him. Well, how could they not, when they knew that the boy would be the biggest sensation in the country after everything was settled.

The most unfortunate part was just that this was the end of the year, and they had to go for a break for the next two weeks. This period was enough to kill any momentum that they were in right now.

Still, that was a problem for the future. Now, everyone was celebrating like crazy, enjoying the thought of going into the Christmas holiday with two consecutive wins in their bags.

After this, the head coach dragged Matthew Hoppe to the press conference first while the others were getting ready to celebrate this win in the locker room.

Somehow, no one knew where it came from, but so many bottles of beer were ready, with each one of them carrying one. They signaled each other quietly, waiting for Hoppe to return from their business.

"Psst! Follow my lead, okay?" Omar Mascarell grinned excitedly, showing the side of him that no one knew about. "Once they are coming... One... Two... Come on!"

The moment the door was open, the beers were sprayed on the boy immediately, with some even pouring straight at his head.

"YES! COME ON!"

"HEY! HEY! HEY!"

"A GOOD HAT-TRICK, BRAT! COME FUCKING ON!"

Hoppe himself was so dumbfounded at that moment, not even dodging the attack on him. It was fortunate that Frohling wasn’t there, or the team would have a hellish time later.

"What is going on here?!" The boy shrieked, his tone cracked in a fraction.

However, just based on his ecstatic expression and the laughter he tried his best to hold back, it was clear that the striker enjoyed this moment.

"Of course, it is a little celebration for your hat-trick!" Omar Mascarell laughed while opening another bottle of beer. "COME ON! Let’s have a party here!"

"HELL, YEAH!"

Unfortunately, before they could go too far, someone suddenly coughed loud enough to snap them from their frenzy state. When they turned around, they saw Frohling just staring at them silently, and the man’s gaze was enough to make them shrink like a child getting caught stealing a cookie from the jar.

"Before you go crazy..." The head coach spoke; his face was dark. "First of all, sit your ass down and listen to me carefully."

Well, the way he spoke made the air tremble, enough to silence the guys around. They didn’t even dare to breathe loudly, just going straight to their own seat and waiting for the man quietly.

Once everyone was settled, the head coach also nodded in satisfaction before starting his speech.

"First of all, once again, let’s give a round of applause for everyone who has been working hard for half a season so far! This is definitely way better than what we achieved last year!"

Well, since the head coach initiated it, the boys didn’t have any reservations about holding back.

"HELL, YEAH!"

"COME ON! COME ON!"

"LET’S GO SCHALKE!"

Even though no one was drunk yet, some were just a few breaths away from snapping here, especially when the atmosphere was a celebratory one, suitable for a round of drinks or two.

"20 points out of 12 games so far! We got half the points of the maximum we could achieve! Being in the 7th position as well! We have never been this good since 2017! Come on!"

"YES! COME ON!"

Frohling had a little smirk on his face as he waited for another round of cheers to dissipate first before continuing his speech.

"Not only that, but we are also the best defensive team in the league so far! Only conceding 8 goals out of all the games there! The only team that conceded less than a goal per game on average! Let’s cheer for Higo, who allows us to do that!"

"HELL, YEAH!"

This time, Higo was so flustered when he heard his name was called, especially when the others patted his back quite violently here. The boy clearly didn’t expect that the head coach would mention him at this moment, and now, he didn’t know what to say.

As for the other defenders, they didn’t feel envy when they heard that only Higo’s name was highlighted. After all, everyone knew that without Higo’s presence, their defensive level would just be middle-to-bottom tier, not something this elite.

The fact that they could stand so tall as one of the best defensive teams in the world right now meant that more than half of the credit would fall on Higo’s hands, and no one would complain about that.

After this, the head coach continued his speech once again, mentioning some of the most important players for the team so far.

He called out Morita, who managed to get into second place on the assist list behind Thomas Muller; Omar Mascarell for his consistency and his composure as the captain who led the team in all of his games; and even Matthew Hoppe himself, who became the biggest hero today.

Everyone whose name was mentioned couldn’t help but grin, especially when they heard a round of cheers for them. It was always great to be acknowledged for the hard work that they put in.

"Lastly..." This time, though, Frohling’s tone was solemn, as if he was going to say something important. "This is our last meeting this year, so I will share the good news from the team... That our bonus is finally out! Let’s enjoy our holiday, Guys!"

Silence followed for a moment as they couldn’t comprehend how the man suddenly had a switch in his personality like that. However, after they processed everything in their head, the grin spread so quickly before hell finally broke inside the locker room.

"HELL, YEAH!"
