The Rise of the Iron Wall!

Chapter 910: Nassim Takes Over the Game!

  • Next Chapter

"Fuck! He gets in!"

"Push him far! To the touchline!"

"Don’t give him the angle! Fuck, Malick! Don’t give him that space!"

For a moment, panic succumbed on Schalke’s territory, as everyone had their eyes on Nassim. Unfortunately, the Moroccan winger moved too fast, and somehow, before anyone could get closer to him, the boy had already faced Higo, and even with a tight angle close to the touchline, this was definitely a dangerous one-on-one situation for the goalkeeper.

’Well, fuck it! Come on, Nassim! Show me what you can do!’ Higo thought as he lowered his stance, keeping his eyes on the near post.

Nassim also saw this, and in theory, he knew that the best approach here was to aim for the far post. The boy was also confident that he could do that even with such a tight angle, what with him having already trained so many times in this scenario.

However, it would work against any other goalkeeper, but Nassim knew Higo well enough that the boy might show an opening toward that spot; if anything, that angle was the one being guarded the most by his friend.

’Hah! Your trick can be seen here, Higo! Say goodbye to your clean sheet record!’

BAM!

Instead of going straight to the far post, he aimed at the tighter angle on the near post, aiming toward a little space between the goalpost and Higo. This little mind game only happened for a split second, with the winger thinking that he knew his friend well enough to fool him in this scenario.

However, it was unfortunate for him that Higo had his trump card, the clairvoyant ability that let him see what he would do in the next few seconds. It was easier since the threat point was just Nassim here, as the other Frankfurt players were still busy dragging Schalke’s defender to the other side to get Nassim the best chance right now.

Everything that Nassim was about to do was already in Higo’s calculation, and the next moment the ball was shot, he didn’t even need to move, just extending his right foot to block the shot straight away.

"OH, DAMN!"

"SO CLOSE! SHIT, THAT GOALKEEPER IS A CHEAT CODE!"

The supporters on the stand groaned simultaneously when they saw the ball get deflected by that foot before going out of bounds. Still, they appreciated the effort here, noticing that the young winger with the number 33 just went straight to the corner with the ball on his hand to get the corner kick.

"Damn! Does anyone know his name? How in the hell have I never known him before?!"

"Hey, he is Nassim Boujellab! We got him from Schalke last summer, you remember?!"

"He spent most of his time on the operating table, but it seems that he is back and healthy right now!"

"Come on, Nassim!"

Nassim blinked for a moment, not expecting that he would get unwavering support from the supporters so quickly. He knew that after moving from Schalke, his name started to get dimmer, and he was ready to fight for the spotlight again once the opportunity came.

He had never thought, though, that the opportunity that he had been waiting for would come so quickly like this.

’Yeah, as expected, it takes me fighting against Higo to make me shine. You really are my lucky star, Higo.’ The winger could feel the corner of his lips twitching when he thought about that.

As for the failure earlier, while the boy was indeed a little bit surprised that his well-crafted plan still got blocked, he didn’t really mind about it.

In his mind, if it was so easy to fool Higo, any other players in the league would’ve already done so, and yet, the fact that the boy had only conceded five goals so far showed that any cheap trick wouldn’t really work here.

Still, that didn’t mean he would stop trying here. No, if anything, the boy was excited more than ever, wanting to prove himself against Higo in this regard.

’If I score a goal against him here, I’m sure my name will be known by people immediately tomorrow. Come on, Higo, you have already gained your fame; let me get one today!’

With that in mind, Nassim went berserk in the next few minutes. He changed the whole game with his aggressiveness, forcing the momentum to shift back to Frankfurt.

Sead Kolasinac couldn’t really stop him, having already been exhausted from all the sharp movement that Nassim pulled. Hell, just in the last five minutes, he had been forced to turn around in every direction so many times, forcing his knees to work harder than ever.

Even when he asked for help from Omar Mascarell or Benjamin Stambouli, it didn’t really work, because at that moment, Daichi Kamada would be able to insert himself into the space between them to break through the defense and wreak havoc on Schalke’s territory.

Honestly, no one had ever thought about it, but the combination between Daichi Kamada and Nassim Boujellab seemed to work well, destroying everything in front of them so easily.

Of course, this was followed by so many great chances for Frankfurt’s side.

In the 71st minute, Daichi Kamada managed to free himself after using the distraction that Nassim pulled on the flank, allowing him a good angle to whip a good cross to the penalty side. There, Luca Jovic fought against Benjamin Stambouli to get a header, and somehow, they both failed to get it, letting the ball fall straight to Andre Silva, who was behind them.

It was unfortunate that the Portuguese striker also didn’t expect that he would get such an easy ball, and before he knew it, Higo was already in front of him, blocking all the route for the man to shoot.

In the end, he just shot randomly, which only added another save to Higo’s stats, making the boy shine brighter than ever.

Then, in the 75th minute, their best chance came, as after attracting so much attention on his side, Nassim suddenly sent a long cross to switch the play to the other flank, and there, their team’s main man, Filip Kostic, was left empty with all the good space on the pitch for him.

Seeing this, Higo widened his eyes in shock, and in the next second, his first reaction was...

’FUCK! How could he be left open alone like that?!’
