"FUCK! A HAT-TRICK!"

"COME ON! COME ON!"

"Hahaha! Cali, you Beast! How could you still get that?!"

The moment the ball got into the back of the net, Daniel Caligliuri got up and rushed toward the corner flag, taking his top off and throwing it away before roaring wildly to the empty stands. The rest of the team followed, all running like a bunch of madmen while also waving around to celebrate the goal.

Somehow, Schalke celebrated this goal in such a wild manner as if this was a decisive one in the World Cup final. It was a strange scene, as they themselves were already leading by two goals.

Well, they couldn’t be blamed for this. A hat-trick was always exciting, especially when Schalke had never witnessed their players doing so in the last four or five years here. It also helped that the one who did it was Daniel Caligliuri, the veteran who had been serving the team for so many years. It was no wonder that everyone was so ecstatic about it.

Even Higo himself rushed from the backline, joining the crowd to celebrate on the sideline. This was also his little celebration, as the boy was so relieved that the team finally managed to seal the deal here.

’Yeah, even though they could score one, it wouldn’t really matter. They couldn’t catch us right now.’ He laughed boisterously.

Of course, the same feeling couldn’t be seen on the opponent’s side. No, all the Augsburg players were on the ground right now, lying lifelessly as if their souls had been sucked by Shinigami itself. Even though they had already known that they were no match for Schalke, which had been rising recently, when the reality finally slapped them in the face, they could only laugh bitterly here.

Unfortunately, with only ten minutes left to go, there was nothing they could do. Even after the game restarted again, they couldn’t even gain control of the game, let alone try to launch a decisive attack to steal a goal or two.

In the end, all of their efforts only met a brick wall, and they themselves were never a big team in this league. The guys there were no strangers to losing a game, so even if some still tried their best, most of the players had already given up on everything, just wanting to end their suffering as quickly as possible.

This left Higo and the rest of the team’s defense with nothing to do. They just passed the ball around, waiting until the end of the game.

After a while...

FWEEE! FWEEE! FWEEE!

The referee finally blew the whistle three times in a row, ending the game between two relegation teams with Schalke getting a full three points in their own home.

"COME ON! Let’s fucking go!"

The moment they all heard that whistling sound, all the Schalke players roared immediately, hugging each other in joy. The atmosphere was festive here, as grins could be seen everywhere. Even the head coach also joined the celebration, high-fiving all the players and hugging them one by one.

Higo himself also sighed in relief. It was as if a big boulder was lifted from his shoulder, allowing him to breathe freely. He didn’t know how, but the boy somehow felt the pressure after having so many clean sheets in the last couple of games, pushing himself to get another whenever he played again.

Even though this kind of pressure was not good for him, the boy didn’t mind it. If anything, this only made him concentrate better in the game, and when everything was over, the relief he felt was even more satisfying.

’Unfortunately, there are no supporters around, or this game would be perfect.’ He glanced at the empty stands in front of him, imagining Gelsenkirchen people waving their flags or even giving the guys a standing ovation if they were here right now.

Still, the boy shook his head quickly, not wanting to lament this fact for too long. After shaking hands with the opponent’s players, the boy left the pitch as quickly as possible, going to the locker room for a post-match meeting.

He could also see Caligliuri and Frohling standing on the sideline, being interviewed by a TV reporter. Well, the striker had just scored a hat-trick here, so it was clear he was the man of the match today, and the head coach had also just gotten two consecutive wins for the team, the first in this season. It was no wonder that they got interviewed here.

Higo didn’t even bat his eyes for a second time at those little events, not wanting to get caught up in another round of interviews. Right now, all he wanted to do was to go back as quickly as possible, somehow feeling more tired than ever.

The moment he entered the locker room, though, the boy could hear the guys singing and laughing inside, celebrating this win crazily.

Blau und Weiß, wie lieb’ ich dich

Blau und Weiß, verlass mich nicht

Blau und Weiß ist ja der Himmel nur, der Himmel nur

Blau und Weiß ist unsere Fußballgarnitur

This was the classic song for Schalke fans with the title of Blau und Weiß, Wie Lieb’ Ich Dich, meaning Blue and White, How I Love You. The supporters would always chant this no matter how bad the team’s result was, so to hear the song echoed in this empty stadium after the team finally started to get back on a winning track was quite sad.

After a while, the coach and Caligliuri finally entered the locker room after their little interview, silencing the whole room in a blink. However, the seriousness that the man always had couldn’t even be seen right now, being replaced by a huge grin as if he was a player himself right now.

"Well, why are you stopping?!" He shouted loudly. "Come on! Sing louder! Let’s celebrate this win today!"

Silence followed for a moment before everyone finally roared wildly. "HELL, YEAH!"
