Chapter 1011 Getting Injured Again?!

"FUCK!"

Right after parrying Haaland’s powerful shot, Higo couldn’t help but curse again, his instincts screaming that something bad had just happened here.

He bit down hard on his lower lip as a sharp, piercing jolt shot straight down his finger into his knuckle, feeling as if it was being pierced by the sharpest needle in the world.

When the boy tried to curl his hand around the turf instinctively, a wave of intense stiffness and searing pain locked the middle joint tight.

He couldn’t even bend his finger into a fist, and a cold sweat broke out across his forehead as the sudden shock of the pain hit him all at once.

The moment Stambouli saw Higo clutching his hand in pain, a sense of dread crept up his back instantly as he snapped his head to the bench and shouted, "MEDIC! FUCK, CALL GUZMAN HERE! QUICK!"

The sheer amount of terror in his tone was enough to make everyone realize that this was not just an ordinary attempt to waste time, especially after they found Higo grimacing in pain while his face gradually turned pale as if he lost all the blood supplying his brain.

"Fuck! Is he okay?!"

"Get the medic a room! Don’t surround him!"

Everyone was so concerned about Higo, but the boy himself was deafened by the throbbing ache he felt in his fingers.

It didn’t help that he couldn’t move the whole hand at all, as if it had just been disconnected from his brain.

Fortunately, Daniel Guzman came immediately to handle the situation here. The man didn’t hesitate to take off Higo’s gloves, and some of the curious players around couldn’t help but grimace at the ugly sight in front of them.

"Fuck! That’s so nasty!" Someone murmured.

Under the gloves, the injured fingers swelled up and became twice their size, and they crooked slightly at a weird angle. As a cherry on top, its color changed to an ugly dark, like how a corpse was found in a mystery movie.

Guzman didn’t wait for too long here. He checked on the boy for a while, and after assessing the situation, the Filipino doctor moved in Godspeed to apply an instant cold pack to numb the pain and tape the injured fingers to the uninjured ones to provide support.

"Is the pain tolerable? Do you think you can hold on for the rest of the game?" He asked shortly without even looking at Higo, who looked like a dead corpse right now.

’Continuing the game?! Are you fucking kidding me?!’ The boy couldn’t help but curse, glaring at his friend as if he wanted to strangle the man to death.

Even though he had already been treated, the pain was still there, turning off his brain and making him unable to think about anything properly.

Even though the temperature was freezing cold, his jersey had already been dampened by sweat at this point, and while his breath gradually returned to a steady tempo, his face was still so pale from everything that had just happened earlier.

In the end, Daniel Guzman also recognized that Higo was not good to continue the game, so he turned around and gave a big X signal with his arms to the coaching staff on the sideline.

"Fuck!"

At the same time, Frohling cursed immediately the moment he saw that sign. That meant he would lose his biggest protection on the back, and while Fahrmann’s quality wasn’t far behind the average goalkeeper in the league, this would still hurt the team a lot.

Unfortunately, nothing could be done about it. Soon enough, Ralf Fahrmann finally took off his vest and got ready, and Higo had to be supported as he was limping just to leave the pitch.

As he walked off the pitch, all the supporters on the stand also gave a round of applause, appreciating how hard the boy worked so far today.

"Good job, Higo! Thank you for the fight!"

"Get well soon! We will wait for the good news later!"

"Come back stronger, our Wakabayashi! We will wait for you!"

Higo just smiled weakly as he nodded at the crowd, still with a grimace lingering on his face.

Meanwhile, Frohling couldn’t contain his worry anymore, as the moment Higo and Guzman crossed the sideline, he couldn’t help but ask, "Is the situation really that bad?"

"It shouldn’t be that bad, I guess." The doctor answered. "Just a jammed finger from failing to absorb the shot with his palm. If only the pain were bearable, he would still be able to continue the game." The man reported briefly.

"Yeah, sorry, Sensei. I don’t think I can bear with it anymore." Higo smiled wanly, regretting that he had to leave the game due to the pain in his fingers.

"Eh, don’t blame yourself. That is not something you can control at all." Frohling brushed off the apology, trying to console Higo that this was not the boy’s fault.

Inwardly, though, the man couldn’t help but heave out a sigh of relief. After all, he had already thought of the worst-case scenario, but since the medical team had already said that the situation wasn’t that bad, that meant Higo wouldn’t have to leave the team for too long.

"Just to make sure that everything is okay, bring him to the usual hospital," Frohling instructed. "He doesn’t have anything to do on the bench, anyway. Leave first, and leave the rest here to us."

Higo felt like he had a lump in his throat, unable to say anything in reply.

His feelings were so complicated right now, unwilling to leave the pitch earlier than anyone else. Unfortunately, it was also him who couldn’t bear the pain, so the boy had to accept the reality here.

"Sorry, Sensei. We will leave first." Higo finally nodded, thanking the coaching staff before following Guzman to the tunnel.

Frohling himself let out a deep sigh the moment the boy was out of his sight, now all the worry that he tried to hide emerging once again on his face.

’Yeah, fuck! This is definitely the worst!’
