Chapter 9: Cheating on her

Andrew sat in the center of the large drawing room, comfortably settled on the couch with one arm resting against its back.

The room was unusually quiet until Miller hurried toward him, holding a phone in his hand.

From the worried expression on his Beta’s face, Andrew already knew the call was probably something he wouldn’t want to deal with.

"Alpha, your father is on the line," Miller informed him in a low voice.

"I’m not interested in talking to him," Andrew replied, not even bothering to look at the phone.

’Don’t refuse to talk to the Alpha King. He may not punish you, but he can punish me,’ Miller mind-linked him immediately.

Andrew gave him a stern look before finally reaching out and taking the phone. He placed it against his ear and greeted his father, though there was little warmth in his voice.

"When I wasn’t answering your calls, you shouldn’t have called my Beta, Dad," Andrew said coldly. "You know I don’t like being disturbed when I have no intention of taking a call."

The voice of the Alpha King, Davian Kensington, came from the other end, already filled with anger. "I wouldn’t have bothered calling you if you hadn’t caused trouble for the Alpha my daughter is seeing."

Andrew’s brows drew together slightly. He hadn’t expected Nina to be related to Victor.

"What do you mean?" he asked, his voice becoming more serious.

"Nina told me that you sent your Gamma and warriors to drag Victor Ashford out of his pack," Davian said furiously. "Whatever you’re planning, stop it immediately. That is an order from the Alpha King."

Andrew’s expression hardened. Instead of being intimidated by his father’s authority, irritation flashed across his eyes.

"Sorry, Dad, but I’m not going to stop. Victor dared to murder someone very precious to me. I don’t care if he is an Alpha or if he has the support of an entire pack or my sister or you. He hurt my mate, and I will make him pay for it."

Davian seemed about to interrupt, but Andrew continued before he could say anything.

"Even if you send an entire army to stop me from tearing that bastard apart, I won’t back down. This has nothing to do with Nina, and she has no right to interfere. You’d better tell her to stay out of my business."

Andrew ended the call before his father could respond. He lowered the phone and handed it back to Miller, who accepted it cautiously.

"Don’t you dare pick up my father’s calls if he calls again," Andrew ordered, his tone leaving no room for argument. "If he wants to talk to me, he can call me directly. I’m not going to let him use you to get around me."

Miller nodded, but before he could put his phone away, it started ringing again. He glanced at the screen and immediately recognized the caller.

"It’s the Alpha King," he informed Andrew cautiously.

"Ignore it," Andrew said without hesitation.

When the phone continued ringing, Andrew reached over and took it from Miller himself. He ended the call, but only a few seconds later, the device began ringing again.

Andrew’s patience finally ran out. He answered the call and brought the phone to his ear.

"Andrew, this isn’t the right way to handle this matter," Davian said from the other end. He was clearly frustrated, pressing his fingers against his temple as he spoke. "Your sister was crying when she called me. Why do you have to hurt your own sister over this?"

"Dad, Nina loves creating drama," Andrew replied, his voice cold. "If she’s so worried about Victor, then tell her to come and see me herself. You have no idea what that bastard has done."

His anger grew as he thought about Caroline lying helpless in the hospital, and he ended the call without waiting for his father’s response.

Miller remained silent for a moment before finally speaking. "Prince Andrew, if the Princess is involved, then there could be more to the story. You should at least ask Caroline about what happened. What if she’s lying?"

Andrew’s head snapped toward him.

"My mate isn’t lying. What the fuck has happened to your mind?" he reprimanded, his voice sharp enough to make Miller immediately regret his words. "Caroline lost her entire family and the pup she was carrying. Do you think the blood on her body was a lie? What about the wounds covering her?"

"Forgive me, Alpha. I didn’t mean it that way," Miller quickly explained. "I only thought that since the Princess is involved, perhaps there could be some misunderstanding..."

He stopped when Andrew suddenly stood up from the couch. The anger in Andrew’s expression made Miller fall silent.

"Then stop thinking and start looking at what has actually happened," Andrew said firmly. "The medical team can’t fabricate her injuries, and they certainly can’t lie about the amount of blood she lost. When I found Caroline, she was covered in wounds and barely holding on to her life. She was still trying to survive because of the pup she was carrying."

Andrew’s jaw tightened as the memory returned to him.

"She had lost almost everything, yet she was still fighting to stay alive. And you’re asking me to believe that she invented all of that?" He shook his head in disbelief. "What if Nina and Victor had been seeing each other behind Caroline’s back? What if they were cheating on her before all of this happened?" ℯℯ𝑙.

Miller’s expression changed as the possibility sank in. He had never intended to accuse Caroline, but Andrew’s words forced him to consider how little they actually knew about what had happened inside the Crystal Moon Pack.

Just then, the house butler hurried into the drawing room with a tense look.

"Your Highness, Gamma Jeremy has arrived," he announced, slightly breathless. "But there’s a problem. Princess Nina is with him as well, and she appears to be extremely upset."

Miller immediately glanced at Andrew, silently hoping his Alpha would control his temper now that his sister was involved. After the argument with the Alpha King, Miller knew Andrew was already furious, and Nina’s sudden appearance was unlikely to make the situation any better.

Before Andrew could respond, Jeremy walked into the room with several warriors. Victor was between them, his arms restrained as the warriors dragged him forward.

Nina followed closely behind them, her face filled with anger and worry.

"Andrew, let Victor go! That’s an order!" Nina bellowed from behind them.
