Chapter 11: To support her claims

"Why are you here?" Andrew frowned as he looked past his sister and glared at the maid standing a few steps behind Caroline.

The maid lowered her head nervously.

"Your Highness, she’s the Alpha Princess. Don’t... don’t do that," Caroline whispered, clearly terrified that Andrew might actually hurt Nina.

"Caroline, you came home that day, didn’t you?" Nina asked from downstairs, turning her attention toward her. Her voice carried a mocking edge. "You’ve really managed to wrap my brother around your finger. He says you told him that you were pregnant with Victor’s child. Why did you lie to him?"

"It’s not a lie!" Caroline immediately replied.

Her gaze shifted toward Victor, and the moment she saw him, her blood seemed to boil. All the pain and betrayal she had been trying to suppress came rushing back.

"I heard it with my own ears when those wolves mentioned your names, Victor and Princess Nina. They said you both ordered them to kill me." Caroline’s voice trembled with anger as tears gathered in her eyes. "How cowardly of both of you to stand here and deny it after what you did!"

Her voice cracked at the end. Even now, remembering everything made a sharp pain shoot through her abdomen and up toward her heart. She instinctively pressed a hand against her stomach, the memory of the child she had lost making the pain even harder to bear.

Nina let out a mocking chuckle. "Victor never got you pregnant. You’re nothing but a delusional woman." She turned toward Andrew, her expression becoming more serious.

"She’s taking advantage of the mate bond you feel with her. Everyone in the Moon Crystal Pack knows about Caroline and her family. They were drowning in debt. No one even knew they were seeing each other, so why would anyone believe her ridiculous story?"

Nina took a step forward, her confidence returning as she reminded Andrew of the position she held.

"If you choose to go against me, Andrew, I assure you that you will lose everything," she warned. "You know exactly how much power I hold as your one and only sister."

In that moment, Andrew realized that Caroline had no one left who could prove that she was telling the truth. Even the pregnancy test she might have taken at her pack’s hospital could have been destroyed along with the other evidence after the attack. If the hospital records were gone, Caroline had nothing concrete to support her claim.

"Leave Victor and get rid of this omega before it’s too late," Nina advised Andrew. She then tilted her head and gave him a mocking smile. "Besides, you have a fiancée, Andrew. Are you really planning to cheat on her?"

Caroline turned her head toward Andrew, her heart sinking as she realized that even he had lied to her.

Without saying another word, Caroline turned around and began walking away. She didn’t want to stay there and listen to them argue about her life as though she weren’t standing right in front of them.

"The fiancée my mother chose for me isn’t my mate," Andrew said, his voice firm enough to make Caroline stop in her tracks. He then looked toward Victor, his expression turning cold. "Lock him in the cells and torture him until he tells us the truth."

Jeremy immediately stepped forward, while the warriors tightened their hold on Victor.

"First, you’ll have to lock me in the cells too, Andrew," Nina said, frowning as she stared at her brother. "I told you to bring me real evidence, not simply take her word for it. How could you become so completely smitten with her? This isn’t like you."

"You’re forgetting that both of you just confessed to ordering Caroline’s murder, along with the murder of her family," Andrew stated. "You admitted it yourselves. Do you really think I would simply ignore that?"

"And we already told you the reason," Nina countered without hesitation. "Caroline has been lying about her relationship with Victor. She even lied about the pup. For all we know, the pup could have been someone else’s."

Nina wasn’t willing to back down, not even for a second, especially when Victor’s life was at stake. She knew Andrew’s anger was dangerous, but she also knew the influence she held as his only sister.

"You don’t want this matter to reach the High Council," Nina continued, her expression becoming more confident. "If this case goes before them, Caroline will be questioned, and without any evidence to support her claims, she will be the one proven guilty. You know how the Council works, Andrew."

She kept her chin raised while keeping her eyes fixed on him.

"So, it’s better for you to let Victor go now," Nina said firmly. "Before you turn this into something that could destroy your own reputation and everything you’ve built, my little brother."

Suddenly, the sound of a helicopter approaching from above the mansion caught everyone’s attention. It landed on the helipad on the rooftop. Andrew didn’t need to see who had arrived. He already knew.

A moment later, footsteps echoed down the staircase leading from the terrace. They grew louder with every step until a tall man appeared and walked straight toward Andrew, who stood with his jaw tightly clenched.

The Second Alpha Prince, Ilias Kensington, passed Caroline after giving her a brief glance. The moment she recognized him, she instinctively lowered her gaze. As a member of the royal family, his presence alone was enough to make most wolves uncomfortable.

"Brother, Mom sent me," Ilias said calmly, holding an official scroll in his hand. "You can’t do anything to Nina or her man. This is an order from our father."

He held out the scroll. Andrew reluctantly took it and unfolded it, his expression darkening as he read the royal decree.

"Thank you, Ilias," Nina said with a satisfied smile. She immediately turned toward Jeremy, her confidence returning now that she had their father’s order on her side. "You heard him. Move before I pull out another decree and have you sentenced to death for disobeying the Alpha Princess."

Jeremy didn’t flinch at her threat. He remained completely still. ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Before Nina could say anything else, Miller grabbed Jeremy by the arm and pulled him away. Jeremy allowed himself to be dragged back, but his eyes remained fixed on Andrew, waiting to see what his Alpha would do next.
