Chapter 493: Chapter 313: Giving Soron a Little Graduate-Level Shock
"Hogwarts is the greatest, greatest, greatest Mage School in the world!" Dean shouted excitedly.
"Hahaha, impossible! Repin is the best Mage Academy," Soron said, falling into his usual habit of arguing seriously with children. "I’ve never even heard of ’Hog-something-warts.’"
"That’s your problem."
At this, Soron’s brow furrowed. ’This kid is something else.’
The parents felt a rush of blood to their heads, certain that this was the end for them.
"Oh? Then what makes Hogwarts so great?"
"Uh, it has the most powerful headmaster of all time, Headmaster Dumbledore!"
"Never heard of him. I know every Legendary Mage worth their salt. Who in the world is Dumbledore?"
"Umm..."
Dean also realized that while Hogwarts was a real place, the people in it seemed to be fictional characters from a novel.
’Who were the important people at the Deepwater City Hogwarts again?’
He struggled to remember, then said, "There’s also Professor El, the best Mage among the Elves."
"Hm?"
Soron was a bit surprised. The kid actually knew of El. Saint El was no longer very active due to his advanced age; generally, only those with deep knowledge of the Mage Guild knew about him.
’And as far as I know, Old El isn’t employed at any school... right?’
"And Professor Furin, the best Illusionist on the Continent! Oh, and you! Right, Master Soron, you’re also a professor at Hogwarts. How could you not know?"
Soron was baffled.
’I’m a professor at Hogwarts?’
’Since when?’
He double-checked his memories. Convinced there wasn’t a problem with his own mind, he figured it was highly likely that someone had played a prank, and this kid had fallen for it.
"Ha! If I’m a Hogwarts professor, I’ll get you into any house you want!"
...
"So you just brought him here?"
In Zog’s office, he looked at the old man and young boy before him, as well as two dazed-looking middle-aged people.
Judging from the story Soron had just told, the young one was Dean, and the other two were his mom and dad.
Chances were Soron had brought them here directly, and they still hadn’t figured out what was going on.
"That’s right. I said that if I were a Hogwarts professor, I’d help him get into whatever school he wanted."
Soron, a man of his word.
"Are you the headmaster of Hogwarts?" Dean asked, his eyes shining with excitement.
"Uh, to be precise, I’m the investor in Hogwarts School."
"Then do you know Mr. Bibiduo Flavor Beans?"
That was Zog’s pen name—the author of the Feilin version of *Harry Potter*.
"Don’t know him. Not familiar with him. Never met him. All our contact is online," Zog denied instantly.
It was already troublesome enough that Furin had blown his cover.
If more people found out, my god, he couldn’t even imagine how the readers would hound him for more Chapters.
"Oh..." Dean looked a little disappointed, but he perked up again quickly. "Then can I go study at Hogwarts?"
"Absolutely not."
"Aww—"
"First, you’re not old enough. Second, you have to pass an exam to get into Hogwarts."
"But I promised him," Soron said from the side.
"That was *your* promise, not mine. However, there is one other option," said Zog.
"What option?"
"You can start by enrolling in Deepwater City Middle School. The curriculum there is specifically designed to prepare students for getting into Hogwarts. It’s absolutely the best choice for getting into your dream school. The second round of entrance exams for the middle school is about to begin."
"I want to sign up!" Dean said eagerly.
"But, we..." his parents started to say from behind, looking troubled, but they found they couldn’t get a word in edgewise.
As far as Zog was concerned, the more students who wanted to come to school in Deepwater City, the better. As long as they could pass the tests, he welcomed them all.
Dean didn’t want to go straight home; he wanted to see the Hogwarts campus, which was right there in Deepwater City.
However, there wasn’t an official tour program yet. Once the school was fully operational, a limited number of daily tour slots would likely be made available—not too many, so as not to affect the students’ normal studies.
So Dean couldn’t go inside for a tour just yet. He could only look at it from the outside, but for him, that was more than enough.
His family wasn’t short on the money it would cost to teleport back home themselves.
After the family left, only Zog and Soron remained in the office.
Only then did Soron ask quietly, "When did I become a Hogwarts professor?"
He found that he had indeed signed a Contract to become a professor, but he had no recollection of it whatsoever.
"Good question."
As he spoke, Zog displayed a video clip from the dinner party that followed the last Zog Group annual meeting.
Most of the elders from the Mage Guild were present.
They were playing Zog’s magical little drinking games, like finger guessing, and chugging an ethanol-based liquid mixture.
[Drunken State] Balance decreased, Intelligence lowered, Courage greatly increased.
In the clip, Soron had one foot propped on a wine barrel, declaring passionately, "These Mage Academies today are completely useless! They could never produce a genius as brilliant as me!"
"That’s right, that’s right! You tell ’em, Soron!"
Zog egged him on.
"If I were teaching students, we’d be unstoppable! I’m telling you, unstoppable!"
"Hey, I was just thinking the same thing! If I gave you a platform to teach, you’d absolutely crush the other schools!"
"Yeah, absolutely crush the other schools..."
The video clip ended.
"So, there you have it," Zog said. "You brought this on yourself."
Soron glumly scratched his shiny, bald head.
"But I’m the honorary headmaster of Repin. I don’t have time to be a professor somewhere else."
Zog knew Soron’s situation quite well. If he were really that busy, he wouldn’t have the free time to run around Twin Tower City in a leather suit and mask, playing superhero.
