Chapter 442: Chapter 288: The Most Immersive Experience Ever

Premium VIPs even came with their own personal guide.

The guides in the Devil Pavilion were all pretty Miss Devils, dressed in work uniforms resembling maid outfits, complete with standard-issue black stockings and a swaying, heart-tipped little tail. ℴ

It seemed they’d copied all the ’bad habits’ of the Succubi.

Twenty percent of their job in the pavilion was to give explanations and answer questions; the other eighty percent was to be eye candy.

They served the same purpose as the ’brand ambassadors’ in pink at McDonald’s.

"Hello, it’s my pleasure to serve you. Is there a specific attraction you’d like to experience first? If not, I can give you a tour of the entire pavilion..."

the guide said with a smile.

"I want to try the most thrilling, most dangerous, and most terrifying attraction!" Craig replied without hesitation.

"Of course, esteemed guest. That would have to be the Doomsday Warrior attraction on the ninth floor."

"What’s Doomsday Warrior?"

"You play as the strongest Devil slayer in history and personally hunt powerful Devils."

"Okay, that’s the one!"

Nominally, Doomsday Warrior was an adults-only attraction, meant to keep bloody violence from ’corrupting’ minors.

But Zog had even prepared Mechanical Armors that were only 1.2 meters tall, claiming they were for Half-Elves.

However, Half-Elves were notoriously few in number, yet Zog had prepared a whole slew of small-sized Mechanical Armors.

All players who tried Doomsday Warrior had to wear Mechanical Armor to enter the level.

These Mechanical Armors had no special effects, other than providing a UI, locking up once the wearer’s HP was depleted, and preventing friendly fire.

The weapons used in the game were proper firearms developed by the Deepwater City Gunsmiths. They had been modified, however, so the Magic enchanted on them wouldn’t trigger when hitting Mechanical Armor.

But the kinetic force of the bullets wasn’t reduced, so wearing the Mechanical Armor to play was mandatory.

"Would you like to try the single-player level or the team level? If this is your first time, I recommend choosing the team level."

"No! Solo!" Craig replied.

"Alright. May I ask if you are eighteen years of age?"

"What?"

"The Doomsday Warrior attraction is only for adults, so may I ask if you are eighteen?"

Craig was completely baffled. ’Is this guide an idiot?’ he wondered. ’Can’t she tell just by looking at me?’

But then he noticed the guide was winking at him frantically.

"Uh... I’m eighteen?" Craig answered tentatively.

"Very good. Welcome, adult Half-Elf guest."

Craig was shocked. ’That’s all it took?’

"Please take your weapon." The guide handed him a pathetic little Pistol.

"That’s it? What about the ones on the wall?"

Craig asked, pointing to several ridiculously large guns on the wall.

"Oh, the Pistol is the standard-issue weapon. If you’d like to try the big guns, there’s an additional fee."

According to the expo’s rules, you only paid for the main ticket; attractions couldn’t charge a second admission fee. But there was no rule against charging for add-ons.

"Who do you take me for? I’ll take the biggest one!"

And so, Craig, shouldering a massive gun almost as tall as he was, put on his Mechanical Armor, finished the firearm tutorial, and was teleported into the level.

As far as he could see, there was nothing but a red wasteland. Strange buildings he’d never seen before dotted the landscape, magma spewed from the ground, and the terrifying roars of unknown monsters echoed in his ears.

Craig swallowed hard, his legs feeling a little weak.

’Don’t be scared, don’t be scared. It’s just an attraction. It’s not dangerous.’

Comforting himself, he advanced cautiously.

He hadn’t gone far when he heard a piercing roar, and a living, breathing Pervert Demon leaped out in front of him.

"AH!"

Craig fell to the ground in fright, trembling, with no idea what to do.

’It’s a real Devil!’

Meanwhile, the actor playing the Pervert Demon was also dumbfounded.

’Why isn’t he shooting?’

’This wasn’t part of the training, was it?’
