Chapter 156: Chapter 155: Fleeing to Escape Punishment, Brother Strong, You’re Really Asking for It

Rian Sinclair placed her phone on the table. Everyone present could clearly hear Zachary Morgan’s arrogant and overbearing speech.

Director Morgan’s face was as dark as a thundercloud. Franklin Morgan also looked grim. Ronan Ford remained expressionless, having listened to the entirety of Zachary’s rant.

Lance Forrest looked at Director Morgan. "Explain."

Director Morgan’s hands and feet were like ice. He stared at Lance, momentarily speechless before stammering, "Chief Forrest, Zachary is just simple-minded and a bit immature. It’s his fault, I admit. I’ll properly discipline him later and personally take him to apologize to those young women."

Rian almost laughed when she heard this. "Simple-minded? A bit immature? Is that how you assess Zachary Morgan? Do you want me to play yesterday’s video again, or maybe review the garbage he spouted at the hospital today?"

Director Morgan looked confused, but Franklin had watched the whole thing and knew exactly what Rian was talking about. Noticing Franklin’s expression, Director Morgan slowly realized the gravity of the situation.

Silence fell over the room. Suddenly, a voice rang out.

"Uncle Franklin!"

The voice drew closer. Soon, the speaker appeared before them. It was none other than Zachary, whose livestream had recently been banned. He walked up to Franklin. Spotting Director Morgan first, he smiled and called out, "Uncle."

Then, noticing the man in military green standing beside them, he asked, "Who is this?"

Director Morgan’s face was deathly pale. "Chief Forrest."

Zachary seemed completely oblivious to his uncle’s expression. Thinking he had just gained another powerful connection, he smiled brightly. "Hello, Chief Forrest."

Before Lance could respond, Zachary turned and spotted Rian and the others he had met at the hospital. His smile vanished instantly, replaced by his usual arrogant sneer. "What are you doing here? What? Still trying to sue me?"

As if he had just heard the funniest joke in the world, Zachary pointed at Director Morgan and Franklin. "Do you realize that the highest-ranking officials here are my uncles? What can you possibly sue me for? I advise you to pack up and go home early, or else..."

Zachary’s gaze turned lecherous as he looked Rian up and down. He genuinely thought this girl had a top-tier face and figure. If he could have his way with her, he would die a man without regrets.

Standing nearby, Franklin and Director Morgan were trembling so hard they could barely remain upright. Hearing Zachary’s filthy words, Ronan hurled the teacup in his hand. It traced a graceful arc through the air and smashed directly onto the top of Zachary’s head.

Scalding tea sprayed through the air, drenching Zachary. The cup shattered on the ground. Clutching his bruised head, Zachary turned livid and pointed at Ronan. "Uncle Franklin, get him—"

Before he could finish, Lance reached out, grabbed Zachary’s outstretched hand, and violently twisted it aside. "Disrespecting the Commander is punishable by three to ten years of imprisonment according to the law."

Lance’s voice was full of fury. This regulation was explicitly written into the law, though few paid attention to it, simply because an ordinary person would never get the chance to meet Ronan Ford.

Zachary was stunned for a moment when Lance moved against him. He whipped his head around to look at his uncles, finally noticing their deathly pale faces. Even with his slow wits, he began to realize his current situation was far from good.

"Chief Forrest, what are you talking about? How could he be the Commander? You must’ve been bluffed by him."

Zachary gulped as he spoke. Even he knew his words lacked conviction, but he refused to believe that the man who had intervened last night was the Commander. Remembering his own actions the previous night and what had happened at the hospital today, a wave of delayed fear washed over him.

"Zachary Morgan, you are under arrest. From this moment on, your case is entirely under the jurisdiction of the military."

Lance’s voice echoed through the hall. Franklin and Director Morgan knew the situation was irreversible. However, when Zachary heard that he was being arrested and handed over to the military, he completely panicked.

He looked around and met Director Morgan’s gaze. Meanwhile, Franklin was making discreet hand signals to the people beside him. The surrounding police officers casually stepped aside, clearing a path. Zachary immediately took a half-step back and bolted toward the door.

Rian remained in her seat. Seeing his actions, she chuckled softly. "Fleeing to avoid punishment? You’re quite the convict, Brother Strong."

Ronan didn’t even want to guess this family’s IQ level. Did they really think they could just run away?

It didn’t take long for several soldiers in military uniform to approach. They were escorting a man in black and green clothes—it was Zachary, who had just tried to escape.

They dragged the captive in, threw him onto the floor, and saluted in Ronan’s direction. "Commander."

Ronan gave a slight nod. The soldier spoke again, "Commander, the suspect Zachary Morgan has been apprehended. Awaiting your orders."

Seeing Zachary thrown to the ground, Director Morgan and Franklin lost their footing and slumped over. Their family had very few descendants, and Zachary was the only male heir. Because of this, he had been raised to be completely lawless. With his uncles’ connections, he had always thrown his weight around Kyoro, acting utterly untouchable.

And yet, because of what happened last night, he had finally crashed and burned.

Zachary grimaced in pain from being thrown to the floor. He looked up at Director Morgan. "Uncle, save me."

Hearing this, Director Morgan looked at Zachary, a trace of reluctance in his eyes. He turned to Ronan. "Command—"

Before he could finish pleading, Franklin cried out, "Stop!"

Director Morgan suddenly snapped back to reality. The evidence against Zachary was irrefutable. Nothing he said could change the outcome, and he might even drag himself down with his nephew.

Watching their display of deep familial affection and noting Franklin’s actions, Rian couldn’t help but chuckle softly. Did they really think they could still sit securely in their positions after this?

Seeing his uncle’s reaction, Zachary’s face turned ashen. Remembering how they used to dote on him, he scrambled to his feet and roared, "Didn’t you always spoil me? Hurry up and save me! Without me, who’s going to look after you two in your old age?!"

Hearing this, Franklin could only fall silent and shake his head. It wasn’t that they didn’t want to save him; they simply couldn’t. A man sitting in the Commander’s seat would never release a prisoner over a few pleading words.

Rian sat to the side, finding it utterly hilarious to watch them desperately wanting to save him but being completely powerless to do so. Finally, she couldn’t hold back and spoke up. "Brother Strong, it won’t be long before your uncles come to join you."

Lance looked at Rian in mild surprise. He then handed the files in his hands to Ronan. Ronan flipped through the documents. Because there were quite a few pages, it took him some time. Once finished, he tossed the files aside.

"Take all these people away. Back to the military base."

At Ronan’s command, the soldiers immediately sprang into action. They handcuffed everyone present. Many more soldiers swarmed in to apprehend the remaining police officers. Zachary and his two uncles were also taken away.

Scores of people were being marched in and out of the station. Seeing this, Rian deduced that the entire police station had already been hollowed out by corruption.

Ronan stood before Rian once more. His tone was serious and resolute. "The military will provide a satisfactory answer to this matter. We will also fight to secure the utmost justice for the victims."
