Chapter 108: Chapter 108: We Advocate for Peace, So How Soon Do We Send Them to Meet God?
Rian Sinclair didn’t reply. She merely turned her head to look at Quentin Sinclair. "Do I really look that atrocious?"
Hearing this, Quentin Sinclair was a bit confused. Meeting Miss Sinclair’s gaze, he observed her carefully and then replied in all seriousness, "Not at all. You are very beautiful, Miss. Your first impression is that of a kind-hearted and stunning woman. They must be blind."
He then handed her a mirror. Holding it by the handle, Rian looked at her reflection and nodded in satisfaction. "I am indeed pretty. You have good taste."
She handed the mirror back to Quentin, then glanced at the two dirt-covered men standing to the side. "Whose idea was this?"
The two men exchanged a look. "Phoenix suggested it."
Rian frowned and looked at Quentin. "Who is Phoenix?" In her memory, she had never interacted with anyone by that name.
Seeing her confusion, Quentin explained in a low voice, "Phoenix is the captain of The Phoenix Reborn Mercenaries. They are the number one Mercenary Corps, and their captain is notoriously cunning."
He had barely finished speaking when she opened her mouth to reply, only to be interrupted by a male voice drifting over.
"Hey, hey, hey! What’s this? What do you mean by ’cunning’? Is this cunning, man? This is having brains! Do you even know how to describe me?" The voice approached from a distance.
The man walked over as he spoke. He had classic Western features and a handsome, somewhat aloof face—which made the heavy, folksy slang spilling from his lips all the more jarring.
"Hello there, gorgeous. I’m the handsome and quick-witted Phoenix."
Phoenix smiled flamboyantly, but the fleeting glints of shrewdness in his eyes revealed that he wasn’t as simple as he appeared. He was a calculating old fox.

Rian was almost immune to the system’s announcements by now. After all, she had encountered far too many of these targets lately. Aside from the first few, she couldn’t even remember what the rest of them looked like. As for Phoenix’s underhanded idea, she didn’t want to comment further.
"Where are the others?" Without Rian’s orders, her subordinates wouldn’t act recklessly. Saying they’d kill someone was just talk. She advocated for social peace; how could she possibly engage in such violent acts?
"Boss, those Sakurans were thrown into the warehouse out back. Do you need us to off them?" The speaker was one of the actors from earlier. He rubbed his hands together eagerly after speaking, just waiting for her command to feed them a bullet.
Hearing such a villainous remark, Rian shook her head in disapproval. "I told you, we advocate for peace. How can you always talk about killing and fighting?"
The man was speechless. After all, when she had inspected his "injuries" earlier, she had been far more terrifying than stepping onto a battlefield—it had felt like being stared down by a venomous snake. But she was the boss, so she had the final say. Whatever she said went.
"Understood, Boss. We advocate for peace. So, when should we send them to meet their maker?"
Rian looked at Phoenix, her eyes full of inquiry. Phoenix touched the tip of his nose. "They just love telling the brutal truth."
Hearing this, she looked at the two dirt-covered men. "You two, go clean yourselves up first."
The two exchanged a look, taking in each other’s current appearances. Disgust instantly brimmed in their eyes as they nodded in fervent agreement.
"You’re right, Boss. We’ll go clean up right now. When we get back, just give us a holler on how you want them sent off." The man walked away as he spoke, dragging the other filthy guy along with him. He even grumbled as they went, "I gotta say, your outfit is absolute trash. Not even a third as good as mine."
Rian turned her confused gaze back to Quentin and asked earnestly, "Aren’t we living in a society governed by the rule of law?"
Quentin replied just as earnestly. "Miss, Veridia is indeed a society governed by the rule of law. But we are in Sakuran territory, so we don’t have to abide by Veridian laws."
Rian fell silent for a moment. "Quentin, you’ve gone bad."
Although she had no intention of abiding by them either, saying one thing and doing another felt incredibly satisfying.
Quentin smiled and shook his head, feeling no pressure from being exposed. She didn’t bother saying anything more and stood up. "Let’s go. Time to beat up the lit—... I mean, time to blow up that ’divine toilet’ of a shrine."
Rian had nearly slipped up and voiced her true thoughts. How presumptuous that would be.
Quentin’s expression remained unchanged, and Rian silently gave him a thumbs-up in her mind. As for Phoenix, who had been completely ignored, he shook his bewildered head and "stealthily" followed them.
Quentin trailed behind Rian, followed by a massive, densely packed crowd of men. This scene would have been absolutely explosive even in a classic gangster movie. Rian stopped in her tracks.
She then looked at the crowd behind her. "We aren’t here for a gang fight. Keep a low profile."
The men behind her whispered among themselves before dispersing in all directions. Only Aiden Sinclair and Ben Sinclair remained by her side. They got into a car, which then drove at a steady pace down the streets.
Thinking about the upcoming operation to blow up the "toilet," she felt her current outfit might be a bit inconvenient. Suddenly, Quentin handed her a bag. "Miss, these are the clothes I prepared earlier."
Rian took the bag and nodded in satisfaction. Quentin was like a mind-reader.
The vehicle pulled up outside a clothing boutique, and Rian went inside to change. Quentin had prepared a lightweight camouflage suit and a pair of ankle boots. Her slightly wavy long hair was tied up, giving her a sharp and capable look.
Back in the car, she scrolled through Sharkstream for a while and saw the news that Veridia’s national college entrance examinations had just concluded today. She recalled that Ash Sinclair seemed to be one of the examinees. She immediately transferred 100,000 to his bank account with a message attached.
"A reward for doing well on the exams."
Then, thinking of what was to come, she left a comment on her latest video.
[I’ll be sending a little gift to you examinees later.]
Afterward, she put down her phone, leaned against the backrest, and cleared her mind.
It didn’t take long for them to reach their destination. When she stepped out of the car, Quentin walked over with an open umbrella, but Rian raised her hand to stop him.
"Quentin, my outfit is so cool and badass right now. Holding an umbrella kinda ruins the vibe." She then shot him a look of mild disgust. "Zero aesthetic sense."
Quentin didn’t argue. He smoothly closed the umbrella and put it back in the car. "I will go improve my aesthetic sense as soon as we return."
Seeing this, Rian led the way inside. Once inside, there were naturally people waiting for her arrival. Her appearance caught their attention, and the crowd turned to look at her.
Some couldn’t keep their mouths shut, and Rian heard several people mutter, "Baka." She frowned in deep disgust. Quentin stepped forward, looking at the opposing group with a natural expression.
The people on the other side were perhaps already prepared. As soon as the two of them appeared, someone immediately approached them. "Are you Miss Sinclair?"
Rian truly felt that Sakurans loved stating the obvious. Quentin nodded in agreement beside her. However, she also expressed understanding toward the fact that something was wrong with their brains.
After shooting Quentin a look, he understood instantly and stepped forward. "Since you already know, we won’t waste words on our purpose here today. Have your people evacuated the premises yet?"
The man he was speaking to looked utterly petrified. Quentin was speaking in the Sakuran language, so there was absolutely no need to worry about whether he understood or not.
