"Guann Zhenzhen, we’re among the clan now. You really need to tone it down. Squeezing me for my Essence is one thing, but not everyone in the clan is like me, unconcerned with losing a mouthful or two."

"Old Daoist Guan, don’t be so aggressive. So what if I made the Guan Family pitch in a few extra Resources? You’ll get even more once the sacrifice starts. You’re not losing out on anything."

"Heh, me? Aggressive? Why don’t you go ask this man from the Lu Family if he wants to sleep with you now?" Guan Shouxin said.

Lu Ya, who had just finished vomiting, and Duan Fangchun, who had finished dry-heaving, both had incredibly dark expressions.

As Martial Artists, their Heart Spirit defenses were inherently weak, and they had been caught off guard, falling for her trick.

But they were, after all, Tier Three Divine Power Realm Martial Artists, comparable to Great Cultivators of the Three Talents. Once they recovered, how could they not know what they had just experienced?

Thus, both wore grim expressions, their auras fluctuating violently. They weren’t good people to begin with—not even close.

For the sake of their Cultivation and their clan’s affairs, they were the kind who ate people. They had eaten their way up to the Tier Three Divine Power Realm. Among the Five Races, if one were to speak of evil, they were the worst.

Lu Ya heard Guan Shouxin’s words and said with an ugly look on his face, "Sleep with her? Sure. I just threw up a little, and I’m feeling a bit hungry. I’ve never tasted a Cultivator of the Extreme Charm Path before."

Guan Shouxin paused for a moment, giving Lu Ya a surprised look before understanding dawned on him.

’When they first arrived, I saw Guann Zhenzhen controlling them, and since they were mere Martial Artists, I subconsciously dismissed them as weak. It seems I had taken things for granted.’

’That’s right. How could anyone from the Five Races be weak? Whether a Martial Artist or a mortal, the man’s aura was as strong as a Three Talents Cultivator. There was no mistaking it. He must have just been careless and fallen for her trick.’

As these thoughts flashed through his mind, the foul stench in the great hall slowly receded. Guan Shouxin ignored them, instead crossing his arms and watching the show with a playful expression.

Guann Zhenzhen, who had been suppressed and unable to move, regained her mobility as soon as the stench receded. She didn’t look at Guan Shouxin, because she knew with perfect clarity that he was not someone she could afford to provoke.

She turned to Lu Ya, a floral fragrance wafting around her as she flashed a perfect smile. "Brother, don’t be so fierce. Zhenzhen just saw how magnificent you are and wanted to get a little closer."

Duan Fangchun seemed extremely susceptible to Charm. Even though he was prepared this time, his body couldn’t help but tremble as he struggled to suppress the effect.

Lu Ya, however, was the exact opposite. Flames danced in his eyes, and his entire body grew hotter, becoming scorching.

He too revealed a cold, deep smile. Licking his lips, he stepped forward and wrapped an arm around Guann Zhenzhen. "Is that so? I’ve never seen such a lovely little sister, myself. A Charm Cultivator this fragrant... I wonder what you taste like."

"You’re terrible! How could you tease me in front of all our brothers?" Guann Zhenzhen’s eyes lit up as she spoke. "But brother, you’re so warm. Zhenzhen is feeling so cold right now. Why don’t we go somewhere private and catch up?"

Lu Ya’s smile grew even colder. "Of course," he beamed. "Our brothers here won’t mind waiting for us."

"Ahem, that’s enough playing around. Let’s get down to business!" Qu Wenbai once again played the peacemaker.

At that moment, it seemed like a case of mutual interest. Seeing that even Guan Shouxin wasn’t stopping their "catch up," Guann Zhenzhen was displeased that Qu Wenbai was meddling. "Old Ghost Qu, are you jealous? Zhenzhen doesn’t like you, you know," she said, annoyed.

"Fine, do as you like," Qu Wenbai paused, then tilted his head to look at Lu Ya. "Lu Ya, is it? Just eat half. Don’t finish her off. We need to leave half for the Celestial Heart Sacrifice."

The Guann Family had been wiped out not long after the Five Races began dispatching their members, so Guann Zhenzhen didn’t really know what kind of Devouring the Lu Family practiced.

Qu Wenbai’s words made Guann Zhenzhen pause, her brow furrowing. From what he said, she realized this "eating" wasn’t the same as the "eating" she had in mind.

"No problem," Lu Ya nodded. "Let’s go, little sister. Your brother will warm you up properly down below."

But Guann Zhenzhen didn’t move. From the conversation between Lu Ya and Qu Wenbai, she sensed something was wrong. It seemed this "eating" wasn’t a flirtatious joke.

She tried to pull her body away, but Lu Ya’s arm around her was powerful; she couldn’t break free. When her struggling proved fruitless, she paused, and her body instantly dissolved into a pink mist.

But before she could float backward, a flash of fire erupted from Lu Ya’s arm.

"TSSSSSS..."

With a sound like water being thrown on hot coals, Guann Zhenzhen’s body re-materialized, still in Lu Ya’s embrace. But now her face was exceptionally pale, and her whole body had gone limp.

"What’s wrong, little sister? Getting all worked up already? Can’t wait, can you?" Lu Ya said with that cold, deep smile, his hand moving from her waist to her rear, giving it a hard squeeze.

"You’re awful, brother! Not in front of everyone!" Guann Zhenzhen said coyly, all the while trying to struggle free.

"Are you two going to do it or not? If not, then stop wasting time. If you are, then get on with it downstairs. I don’t care who eats who or who drains who, just leave half a breath in them.

Either way, you’re both part of the Celestial Heart Sacrifice. It’ll all end up on the altar anyway, so it doesn’t affect the rest of us."

The phantom of Duan Yuanbing on the metal sphere, who had been silent until now, suddenly spoke.

"Let’s do it!"

"No!"

Guann Zhenzhen and Lu Ya spoke at the same time. After the words were out, they both paused and looked at each other.

"What’s wrong, little sister? Is your brother not warm enough? How about I turn up the heat? I can get it nice and scorching for you." As he spoke, waves of heat began to radiate from Lu Ya’s body.

Guann Zhenzhen’s face was pale and her brow was furrowed. Dropping the pretense, she said with a cold expression, "My bad. I apologize."

"Hmph. Duality Cultivators? Laozi has eaten plenty of them. You’re nothing special. If you weren’t a disciple of the Five Races, with your pathetic level of Cultivation, you think you could have pranced around in front of Laozi for this long?" After speaking, Lu Ya tossed Guann Zhenzhen to the ground.

At that moment, Guann Zhenzhen was like a helpless young woman, thrown to the floor by Lu Ya, unable to even get up for a long time.

No wonder she had surrendered so directly. If she had been any slower, she really would have been done for.

She lay on the ground, her body sore and weak, looking exceptionally fragile.

But surrounding her were an old ghost, a mechanical Demon, an incredibly ugly mud monster, and two normal people—hmm, normal people who eat people.

All five of them watched her coldly, their expressions a mixture of mockery and amusement. Not one of them felt any sympathy or pity for her.

In that instant, she was jolted awake from the illusion of Qu Wenbai’s coddling and indulgence. She recognized her place and realized that the Celestial Heart Sacrifice didn’t truly need her.

The Celestial Heart Sacrifice only required a member of the Guann Family; it didn’t necessarily have to be *her*, or rather, it didn’t have to be a *complete* her.

Qu Wenbai’s previous attitude had made her forget that the five participants in the Celestial Heart Sacrifice were not the kind-hearted, gullible men she usually seduced.

Every single one of them was an ancient demon, the kind of monster that eats people without spitting out the bones. With her Cultivation being the lowest of the group, how could she possibly play them... hmm... literally!
