The Progeny Academy: Master of the Elite
Chapter 31: Calm Before the Storm
The morning sun crept slowly into the bedroom, slicing through the gaps in the curtains and painting the walls in pale, golden hues. The room was silent, save for the rhythmic hum of the air conditioner and the distant, muffled sounds of the Academy waking up.
Sora stirred, her consciousness returning in slow, hazy waves. For a moment, she didn’t know where she was. She felt a strange, heavy warmth enveloping her, and her body felt as though it were made of lead. As she blinked her eyes open, the bright light of the morning blinded her, and the memories of the previous night came rushing back in a vivid, pulsing flood.
She remembered the Wild Chick, the heat of the sofa, and the overwhelming sensation of Jun filling her until she couldn’t breathe. A soft, involuntary moan escaped her lips as she shifted, feeling a dull, pulsing ache in her lower back and a lingering sensitivity between her thighs.
As she stretched, the thin silk blanket she had been wrapped in slid slowly down her body, pooling around her waist.
Across the room, Jun was sitting in a comfortable armchair, a steaming cup of black coffee in his hand. He looked refreshed, his expression calm and composed. Beside him, Akane was moving with her usual silent efficiency, preparing a tray of breakfast.
Sora blinked, her voice sounding raspy and thick with sleep. “Good… morning,” she murmured, her eyes still half-closed.
The room went silent. Akane, who had been placing a plate of fruit on the table, stopped mid-motion. Her gaze drifted toward Sora, and her eyes widened.
From the neck down to the swell of her breasts, Sora’s luminous skin was a map of deep, violet and crimson marks. Jun had been thorough. Hickeys adorned her collarbone, her shoulders, and the sensitive skin of her chest—dark, possessive stamps of ownership that stood out starkly against her pale complexion.
Akane’s face flushed a bright pink. She looked at the marks, then at Jun, and then back to Sora. A mischievous, knowing smirk played on her lips.
“My goodness, Mistress,” Akane teased, her voice dripping with playfulness. “I knew Jun-sama was… enthusiastic… but I didn’t realize he had decided to claim every single inch of you. You look like you’ve been thoroughly branded.”
Sora froze. She looked down at her own body, her eyes widening as she saw the marks. A vivid crimson blush surged from her chest up to her hairline. She quickly grabbed the blanket to cover herself, though it was too late.
“I… I didn’t realize!” Sora stammered, her voice high with embarrassment. “Jun-sama! Why did you… I can’t go out like this! I have meetings, I have duties… I can’t possibly walk around the Academy looking like I’ve been completely used up!”
Jun took a slow sip of his coffee, a small, satisfied smile playing on his lips. “I don’t recall you complaining last night,” he remarked calmly. “In fact, I remember you begging me not to stop.”
Sora pouted, her cheeks puffing out as she glared at him, though there was no real anger in her eyes. “That’s different! That was… in the heat of the moment!”
Jun set his coffee down and looked at her, his gaze softening. “Sora,” he said, his voice low and steady. “When are you going to drop the ‘Sama’ thing? You’re not my guide anymore, and I’m not just some candidate. You’re my woman. I think we’ve moved past the need for formal honorifics.”
Sora stopped mid-pout. She looked at him, her heart hammering against her ribs. The idea of calling him simply “Jun” felt daring, almost scandalous, given her upbringing. But as she looked into his eyes, she felt a surge of devotion that outweighed any social rule.
She leaned forward, her voice a shy, trembling whisper. “…Jun.”
The word felt electric. It was a small change, but it signaled a massive shift in their dynamic. She was no longer just a partner in a structured arrangement; she was his.
While the quiet intimacy of the dorm continued, the atmosphere at the Academy’s private airport was anything but quiet.
A sleek, private jet had just touched down, and the terminal was buzzing with activity. In the center of the commotion was a young woman with a bright, energetic aura. She was holding a smartphone on a gimbal, her voice bubbly and charismatic as she spoke to her millions of viewers.
“And we are officially here, everyone!” Hana Lee chirped, her face glowing under the airport lights. She was dressed in a trendy, oversized sweater and a short skirt, her eyes sparkling with excitement. “Welcome to the Academy Island! I can’t believe I’m finally here. The air here is just… different, you know?”
She spun around, showing her followers the futuristic architecture of the terminal. “I know you guys have been asking about the Prime Candidates this year, and trust me, the gossip is wild. But personally? I’m just here for one person.”
Hana leaned into the camera, a playful, secretive wink crossing her face. “I can’t wait to see my Oppa. It’s been way too long, and I bet he’s missed me as much as I’ve missed him.”
With a final wave and a bright smile, Hana ended her stream, her expression shifting from the “Nation’s Sweetheart” persona to one of genuine, possessive longing. She gripped her phone tight, her mind already racing with thoughts of Jun.
At the same moment, another aircraft arrived. But unlike Hana’s arrival, which was a whirlwind of noise and light, this arrival was a study in power and discipline.
As the stairs lowered, a young woman stepped out into the air. She was dressed in a tailored, high-fashion suit that screamed quiet luxury. Her poise was absolute, her gaze cold and calculating. This was Mei Lin.
Behind her, a phalanx of women stepped off the plane in perfect synchronization. They were dressed in sharp, dark attire, their expressions stoic and their movements precise. As Mei Lin stepped onto the tarmac, the line of women stopped as one and bowed deeply, a synchronized display of absolute submission.
Mei Lin didn’t acknowledge them. She simply looked toward the main Academy buildings, her eyes narrowing. She had spent her life managing the luxury of Shanghai and the shadows of the Triads; she was not a girl who was easily impressed. But as she stepped forward, a spark of curiosity flickered in her eyes.
She had heard the rumors about the “Prime” of the year. She had heard about the man who had broken the “Iron Lady.”
“Let’s see if he’s as interesting as they say,” Mei Lin murmured to herself, her voice cool and commanding.
The storm had arrived. With Hana’s playful possessiveness and Mei Lin’s calculated power, the peaceful mornings in Jun’s dorm were officially coming to an end.
