The Primordial Record

Chapter 2189 The Origin Tree

Chapter 2189  The Origin Tree

Above the Primordials of the Origin Realms, the breach that Enoch had torn in the fabric of Existence began to crack under the power of Eos’s pressure as he reached the ninth-dimensional level and became the Primordial of Promordials

Enoch was becoming the Luminious Whole, and the being that he was becoming was not complete; there was still one more piece missing.

A moment before now, that did not matter, but Enoch had felt the song of Eos’s transformation, and for the first time since the fusion, he felt something that was not hunger or certainty or the cold satisfaction of a purpose fulfilled.

He felt fear.

This fear did not come from his mind; Enoch’s consciousness had become too corrupted by the power of End to feel such a thing any longer. Instead, this fear came from End itself, like darkness meeting light and knowing that this power was enough to erase it.

From the dawn of time, End had always been the one erasing Origin because of the disadvantages imposed upon Existence by the Great One.

It had feasted on Origin for countless eternities, and there was a great chance that in the future, all of Origin would fall under its power, but that had just changed.

For all the powers of End, there was one thing it was missing, and that was the power for self-growth.

It grew from consuming and not innovating, and if there was nothing for End to consume, it would grow stagnant, and in the far future, the fate of End was to consume itself.

However, all things were supposed to be balanced in creation, as Origin and End appeared at the same time, and the original design was for Origin to give up a part of itself to End every now and then to maintain the balance.

This was necessary because Origin was a power of unchecked and chaotic creation, and if there was nothing to erase the malignancy and rot that may arise when a power it created went out of bounds, then in time Origin would be destroyed.

However, this balance was quickly shattered, and instead of feeding from the corrupted fruits of Origin, the Great One claimed the power of End, suppressed Origin, and began to slowly feed it to End.

The power of End grew and also did its appetite, but the intrinsic nature of Origin and End were the same, and the only reason End was able to suppress Origin for so long was because End had a master and Origin did not.

However, when Eos reached the ninth dimensional level and fused with Existence, End itself understood that even it was wrong about their nature.

You see for so long, End believed that they were the same, Origin and End, but now it was realizing that it may have been mistaken.

Perhaps End was not created to be equal to Origin, but was just supposed to be its helper, a glorified waste dump, but after eating fat on the flesh and bones of Origin, End had convinced itself of its supremacy.

Still, even broken and suppressed, reduced to the proto tenth-dimensional state, the light of Existence was pushing back the corruption of End, and in a clash, End knew that it would be burned away.

“What are you doing?” Enoch’s voice cracked across the void. “You cannot… this is not possible… You are breaking the rules!”

Eos opened his eyes, all of them, the ten thousand lights of his crown, the million roots of his tree, the billion truths that composed his being, and he smiled.

“There are no rules,” he said. “There never were. Only choices. And I choose to grow.”

With these words, a shockwave burst out of him, and he stood from his throne, and behind him, Existence cracked, and the massive tree that was his core rose behind him.

As it appeared, it began to consume Existence and expand. With the soul of Existence now residing inside Eos, the Existence that was around them was no longer needed; it had long been tainted by the power of End, and as if he was sifting wheat from chaff, the root of the massive tree plunged into Existence and began to drain all of its Origin.

From this point forward, all of Existence would be the tree, and the tree would be Existence.

More branches erupted from the tree, birthing countless new worlds, and even the ten thousand Origin Realms, having served their purpose, began to drift towards the tree behind him… the Origin Tree.

The Luminious were afraid that Existence was expanding and had placed various roadblocks in place to end it, including those that Eos could never anticipate. Because of this, he was no longer interested in following the script.

Did they think he would fight a rigged game?

He had been outside of Existence and had seen the image of the Painter, the so-called Great One, and he saw that Existence in its present state was just a painting, one that could be erased at any time…. A painting whose colors were muted and suppressed.

What he needed was the core of that painting, which he had been doing when he collected all of its Origin, and now that he had all of that, in addition to the soul of Existence itself, Eos created a new Existence, the Origin Tree.

To him, Origin was like a tree, and if the trunk of the tree was rotten, then the branch or its seed could be collected and planted on fertile soil, to grow a new, stronger tree free of the rot that condemned the previous one.

Still, Eos had to fight for this Existence and pretend that he needed it to survive whatever was to come, but everything he had seen had shown him that Existence had become far too broken to ever be salvaged again.

The Origin Realms would not have survived being added to the Origin Tree if not for the preparations he had made before now, as the Archai rose up to properly merge them with the vast branches rising through Existence that were beginning to shatter.

In the end, it was not the Luminious that ended Existence, it had gone out on its own terms, seeking a rebirth instead of an extension to its life.
